    - by thinker07
I have created two asp.net pages, if x times the login fails, I want to call the captcha page (second page) in a popup window. How do I automatically call the second page as a popup window in the first page without using a hyperlink button? Are there any tutorials?

  • Caching in mmap

    - by myahya
I am using mmap call to read from a very big file using simple pointer arithmetic in C++. The problem is that when I read small chunks of data (in the order of KBs) multiple times, each read take the same amount of time as the previous one. How can I know if the disk is being accessed to fulfill my request or whether the request is being fulfilled from main memory (page cache) in calls after the first one.

  • How to fill byte array with junk?

    - by flyout
I am using this: byte[] buffer = new byte[10240]; As I understand this initialize the buffer array of 10kb filled with 0s. Whats the fastest way to fill this array (or initialize it) with junk data every time? I need to use that array like 5000 times and fill it every time with different junk data, that's why I am looking for a fast method to do it. The array size will also have to change every time.

  • Flash Player - green box with version number

    - by Gavin
I'm trying to get a very simple Flash video working using SWFembed, and it does work across multiple computers at this point in multiple browsers, but as soon as I pushed it live I got this: http://cl.ly/1EDS I've adjusted file permissions, but it is exactly the same code and files as in another directory on the server. I've seen this a few times (green box with version number), but have not been able to find any reference to it online. Thanks for any suggestions in advance!

  • How to delete multiple files with msbuild/web deployment project?

    - by Alex
I have an odd issue with how msbuild is behaving with a VS2008 Web Deployment Project and would like to know why it seems to randomly misbehave. I need to remove a number of files from a deployment folder that should only exist in my development environment. The files have been generated by the web application during dev/testing and are not included in my Visual Studio project/solution. The configuration I am using is as follows: <!-- Partial extract from Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Web Deployment Project --> <ItemGroup> <DeleteAfterBuild Include="$(OutputPath)data\errors\*.xml" /> <!-- Folder 1: 36 files --> <DeleteAfterBuild Include="$(OutputPath)data\logos\*.*" /> <!-- Folder 2: 2 files --> <DeleteAfterBuild Include="$(OutputPath)banners\*.*" /> <!-- Folder 3: 1 file --> </ItemGroup> <Target Name="AfterBuild"> <Message Text="------ AfterBuild process starting ------" Importance="high" /> <Delete Files="@(DeleteAfterBuild)"> <Output TaskParameter="DeletedFiles" PropertyName="deleted" /> </Delete> <Message Text="DELETED FILES: $(deleted)" Importance="high" /> <Message Text="------ AfterBuild process complete ------" Importance="high" /> </Target> The problem I have is that when I do a build/rebuild of the Web Deployment Project it "sometimes" removes all the files but other times it will not remove anything! Or it will remove only one or two of the three folders in the DeleteAfterBuild item group. There seems to be no consistency in when the build process decides to remove the files or not. When I've edited the configuration to include only Folder 1 (for example), it removes all the files correctly. Then adding Folder 2 and 3, it starts removing all the files as I want. Then, seeming at random times, I'll rebuild the project and it won't remove any of the files! I have tried moving these items to the ExcludeFromBuild item group (which is probably where it should be) but it gives me the same unpredictable result. Has anyone experienced this? Am I doing something wrong? Why does this happen?

  • Jquery and frames

    - by Shard
I am currently working on a web application that has been created using a magnitude of frames that stretch down up to 5 times, The issue is that i need to preform some jquery magic throughout the website. What would be the best way to go about this (other than rewriting it which i have considered)? EDIT: The Frame Structure is something along the lines of this: Index.html menu.html banner.html list.html footer.html /lib/index.html header.html body.html footer.html The magic i am referencing is a few hot key shortcuts, find and replace that kind of stuff

  • Quote POSIX shell special characters in Python output

    - by ??O?????
There are times that I automagically create small shell scripts from Python, and I want to make sure that the filename arguments do not contain non-escaped special characters. I've rolled my own solution, that I will provide as an answer, but I am almost certain I've seen such a function lost somewhere in the standard library. By “lost” I mean I didn't find it in an obvious module like shlex, cmd or subprocess. Do you know of such a function in the stdlib?

  • synamically change my schema

    - by Kirk
I am wondering if there is a way to change the schema that I am working in while inside Management Studio. For instance I may have a default schema of dbo. But there are times I may want to query objects in say the accounting schema. It would be nice if I could issue a command and make it so I no longer must include the accounting before tables and views. But the next time I go in, I will be back to default of dbo.

  • SQL Server 2005 Error "The user does not have permission to perform this action" - clears up after r

    - by Sylvia
We're getting the error "The user does not have permission to perform this action" during times of heavy load (regularly, when a trim job occurs). The error clears up when the service accessing sql server is restarted, so it's obviously not a real permissions problems. There's a possibility that the problem is occurring when we're trying to query dm_tran_active_transactions and sys.dm_tran_session_transactions. Any ideas of good places to start looking? thanks for any insights...

  • CUDA, more threads for same work = Longer run time despite better occupancy, Why?

    - by zenna
    I encountered a strange problem where increasing my occupancy by increasing the number of threads reduced performance. I created the following program to illustrate the problem: #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <cuda_runtime.h> __global__ void less_threads(float * d_out) { int num_inliers; for (int j=0;j<800;++j) { //Do 12 computations num_inliers += threadIdx.x*1; num_inliers += threadIdx.x*2; num_inliers += threadIdx.x*3; num_inliers += threadIdx.x*4; num_inliers += threadIdx.x*5; num_inliers += threadIdx.x*6; num_inliers += threadIdx.x*7; num_inliers += threadIdx.x*8; num_inliers += threadIdx.x*9; num_inliers += threadIdx.x*10; num_inliers += threadIdx.x*11; num_inliers += threadIdx.x*12; } if (threadIdx.x == -1) d_out[blockIdx.x*blockDim.x+threadIdx.x] = num_inliers; } __global__ void more_threads(float *d_out) { int num_inliers; for (int j=0;j<800;++j) { // Do 4 computations num_inliers += threadIdx.x*1; num_inliers += threadIdx.x*2; num_inliers += threadIdx.x*3; num_inliers += threadIdx.x*4; } if (threadIdx.x == -1) d_out[blockIdx.x*blockDim.x+threadIdx.x] = num_inliers; } int main(int argc, char* argv[]) { float *d_out = NULL; cudaMalloc((void**)&d_out,sizeof(float)*25000); more_threads<<<780,128>>>(d_out); less_threads<<<780,32>>>(d_out); return 0; } Note both kernels should do the same amount of work in total, the (if threadIdx.x == -1 is a trick to stop the compiler optimising everything out and leaving an empty kernel). The work should be the same as more_threads is using 4 times as many threads but with each thread doing 4 times less work. Significant results form the profiler results are as followsL: more_threads: GPU runtime = 1474 us,reg per thread = 6,occupancy=1,branch=83746,divergent_branch = 26,instructions = 584065,gst request=1084552 less_threads: GPU runtime = 921 us,reg per thread = 14,occupancy=0.25,branch=20956,divergent_branch = 26,instructions = 312663,gst request=677381 As I said previously, the run time of the kernel using more threads is longer, this could be due to the increased number of instructions. Why are there more instructions? Why is there any branching, let alone divergent branching, considering there is no conditional code? Why are there any gst requests when there is no global memory access? What is going on here! Thanks

  • Have you ever crashed the compiler?

    - by Motti
Everyone (at least everyone who uses a compiled language) has faced compilation errors but how many times do you get to actually crash the compiler? I've had my fair share of "internal compiler errors" but most went away just by re-compiling. Do you have a (minimal) piece of code that crashes the compiler?

  • What is the mysql 5.5 equivalent for the sys.dm_fts_index_keywords_by_document in sql 2008

    - by djsurge
I'm making a web application that uses the data in the sys.dm_fts_index_keywords_by_document. I'm interested how many times a given term occurs in each string that is indexed. For example, I have a table with a column called comments, the table has various strings in the comments field. When I make that column full text searchable, the dm_fts_index_keywords_by_document is created and I can see the word per document data. Can i do the same thing in mySQL?
