• Solr autocommit and autooptimize?

  I will be uploading my website to a VPS soon. It is a classifieds website which uses Solr integrated with MySql. Solr is updated whenever a new classified is put or deleted. I need a way to make the commit() and optimize() be automated, for example once every 3 hours or so. How can I do this? (Details Please) When is it ideal to optimize? Thanks

  I integrated a small http server in my software distribution, so when my customer installs my software, a http server is also installed on his computer, he can visit the http server from his LAN (local network). The problem is that my customer has to manually add my software into the firewall's trusted applications list, I want the firewall to AUTOMATICALLY popup warning to let my customer choose yes/no to add my software into trusted applications list when my customer visit the small http server from LAN at first time. Any suggestions?

• What are you supposed to do with old SVN branches?

  We had a SVN branch recently that had been merged back to trunk, and some more work on that feature/functional area was needed. I suggested using the same branch but was told you shouldn't re-use a branch once it has been integrated into trunk (a reference in SVN docs was given, I can't find it now). That suggests a branch is fairly useless once you merge back to trunk, so my question is once a branch is no longer needed, should it simply be deleted or kept?

  Hi, I'm using godaddy shared hosting, with IIS7, Integrated mode, and published up a bog standard MVC2 app to dev.lazygekko.com created with Visual Web Developer 2010. It all works, however when any of the links are clicked, they point to dev.lazygekko.com/dev/..., dev being the folder it is pointing at. Can anyone shed some light on what I may be doing wrong?   We are performing a pen test on a simple asp application that uses MS SQL Database. It seems for the authentication they are using dynamic constructed queries but escaping single qoutes. When we use Unicode quotes like %uFFO7,%u02b9 etc we are able to successfully inject SQL injections. Want to understand is it more a kind of configuration issue of IIS server to cannonicalize Unicode characters or the way the validation function to escape single quotes is written is the cause of the problem?

  We have an application that takes snapshots of certain web pages. It's quite tightly integrated into the code, so we're not ready to incorporate another library. But we don't have a way of being able to calculate the web page height, so we end up taking snaps of 8000px height. Which is now proving troublesome when inserted into PDFs. Is there a way to find the height of the webpage in PHP?
