  • ASP.NET MVC: How to create a basic Pseudo Viewstate? Or better solution?

    I am newish to MVC and understand all the great things about it, including the reasons why voewstate isnt available, however there are some circumstances where I think having some kind of view state will be quite handy, In my case I am thinking about list pages with various search filters that can be applied to the list. Would it be worthwhile implementing some kind of pseudo viewstate to hold this info in some cases? or is there a better solution? Any examples out there? Your comments appreciated.

    Is there any reason to not include pdb files in an installer? I have C++ logging functionality that walks the stack, and reports line numbers and file names. It would be great if my customers could send me logs with this information. However, they would need the pdb files. Is there any downside (other than installer package size) to deploying them?

  • Most efficient way to draw circles for polygon outlines

    I'm using OpenGL and was told I should draw circles at each vertex of my outline to get smoothness. I tried this and it works great. The problem is speed. It crippled my application to draw a circle at each vertex. I'm not sure how else to fix the anomaly of my outlines other than circles, but using display lists and trying with vertex array both were brutally slow. Thanks

    If I were writing a native app I would try the solution given here which says: Try to implement the following method in text view's delegate: - (BOOL)textViewShouldBeginEditing:(UITextView *)textView{ return NO; } Unfortunately I need to use phonegap, so I don't have a text view to manipulate. It would be great if I could permanently suppress the keyboard in this app. We've got some custom on screen keyboard that people are supposed to use instead. So, any idea how to disable the popup keyboard completely?

It's really hard to write whole path to the file in console (even using [tab], it's not the way if you need to change language). Adding everything in PATH is tiring too. Any way to do the same thing, for n-paremeters?

    Hi, I've done a far bit of research on this via Google and there seems to be quite a few ways of possibly doing this. I'm looking to incrementally backup new and updated files in two directories on my Plesk run Centos 5.2 server: /backups and /var/www/vhosts (preferable only httdocs within each vhost) Has anyone got some great feedback from using the various solutions - seems to be various Java, Perl and Ruby based solutions out there.     Akamai is way too expensive. Photobucket is not reliable. Is there a great content delivery network that I can use just to host my images? We deploy images programmatically via FTP, so there is some programming behind the scenes. Having some sort of reporting about the reliability of the service, whether it's raw logs files or a web-based admin screen that shows http errors, would also be important. Has anyone worked with edgecast?

    Can you set the default button of a panel with a button that is not in that panel but in another content placeholder within a master page? I have tried this but I get the following error: The DefaultButton of 'pnlTmp' must be the ID of a control of type IButtonControl. I have also tried setting the panels DefaultButton this way : pnlTmp.DefaultButton = btnContinue.UniqueID This gave me the same error. Any help would be great.

It appears a lot less simple than I thought it'd be: This is included in the "COTISATION" table mapping an uses SynchroDataType, extending Hibernate UserType. This works really great, and I can't find a way to translate it to proper JPA, while keeping the convenience of it. Does someone has a solution for that kind of one-to-one mapping? cheers
