I've never really used XSD schemas before, so I'd really appreciate it if someone could point out where I'm going wrong.

  I have 3 tables with user logins: sis_login = administrators tb_rb_estrutura = coordinators tb_usuario = clients I created a VIEW to unite all these users by separating them by levels, as follows: create view `login_names` as select `n1`.`cod_login` as `id`, '1' as `level`, `n1`.`nom_user` as `name` from `dados`.`sis_login` `n1` union all select `n2`.`id` as `id`, '2' as `level`, `n2`.`nom_funcionario` as `name` from `tb_rb_estrutura` `n2` union all select `n3`.`cod_usuario` as `id`, '3' as `level`, `n3`.`dsc_nome` as `name` from `tb_usuario` `n3`; So, can occur up to three ids repeated for different users, which is why I separated by levels. This VIEW is just to return me user name, according to his id and level. considering it has about 500,000 registered users, this view takes about 1 second to load. too much time, but is becomes very small when I need to return the latest posts on the forum of my website. The tables of the forums return the user id and level, then look for a name in this VIEW. I have registered 18 forums. When I run the query, it takes one second for each forum = 18 seconds. OMG. This page loads every time somebody enter my website.   My list view layout is similar to Pinterest, with absolutely positioned blocks. Unfortunately, this seems to require a full re-initialization at refresh. If reload only the store (as below) the new blocks are incorrectly positioned. How do I reload the app when the user clicks on refresh? • Apache ReWriteEngine throwing 500 Internal Server Error for too many internal redirects... why?!?!?!

  I'm trying to implement a new ReWrite rule on my local dev machine. I have 13 rules set up already, and all work fine (even as of this writing). However, for some reason the newest one is throwing me 500 Internal Server Errors. The ReWrite rule is: RewriteRule stuff/public_html/vault/mystuff/view/(.*) /stuff/public_html/vault/mystuff/view/index.php?stuff=$1 RewriteRule stuff/public_html/vault/mystuff/view/(.*)/ /stuff/public_html/vault/mystuff/view/index.php?stuff=$1 Checked my apache logs and got this: [Thu Jan 13 22:07:43 2011] [error] [client ::1] mod_rewrite: maximum number of internal redirects reached. Assuming configuration error. Use 'RewriteOptions MaxRedirects' to increase the limit if neccessary., referer: http://localhost:8888/stuff/public_html/vault/mystuff/all/index.php?curr=7 On the script I am trying to redirect to view/index.php?stuff=$1, there is nothing that even remotely resembles a redirect of any kind. • Isn't it better to create the subview hierarchy in -viewDidLoad rather than in -loadView?

  The docs say that the whole subview hierarchy can be created in -loadView. But there's also this -viewDidLoad method which sounds nice to ovewrite for actually building the hierarchy, when the view loaded. I guess it's a matter of taste only. But maybe doing so in -viewDidLoad hast the advantage that the view controller already adjusted the frame of the view correctly to accomodate for the status bar or any other kind of bar like tab bar or tool bar?

• Basic PHP question for Drupal Views theming

  My PHP and programming knowledge is extremely basic, so this is probably a dumb question: I am theming a View in Drupal 6, and I want to add an id with a consecutive number to each item in the view (first item would have the id #item1, the second #item2, etc). I am customizing the style output (views-view-unformatted--MYVIEWNAME.tpl.php) and the row style output (views-view-fields--MYVIEWNAME.tpl.php), and I want to add a counter variable in the foreach loop in the style output tpl, and then use that variable in the row style output tpl, but the last one is not recognizing the variable. It does not give me any errors, but doesnt print the number. I understand this has probably something to do with variables visibility, how can I declare the counter variable in the style .tpl so I can the use it in the row style .tpl? Thank you

  I'm building an android application, which has a list view, and in the list view, a click listener, containing an onItemClick method. However, many times I find myself needing too preform an application using the outer class as a context. thusfar, I've used: parent.getContext(); to do this, but I would like to know, is that a bad idea? I can't really call: super because it's not really a subclass, just an embedded one. So is there any better way, or is that considered cosure? Also, if it is the right way, what should I do if the embedded method doesn't have a parameter to get the outside class? Thank you.

• With MVVM, does each UI window have its own ViewModel?

  When I'm designing multiple views under the MVVM pattern, does each view get its own ViewModel or do they all share the same one? I understand that this is ultimately a flexible decision, but what is the best practice? My gut tells me to have a ViewModel for each view (i.e. each separate UI window). All of the blog examples of MVVM show a single view but not much beyond that.

  Hi, I've got a situation in an iphone application where buttons are not receiving input as I expect. Here's the setup: ViewMain - The main view full of various images and labels ViewOverlay - A HUD like overlay view with two UIButton objects. To create my scene I do the following: viewController.view = ViewMain [ViewMain addsubview:ViewOverlay] This view renders as expected, with ViewOverlay correctly rendered ontop of ViewMain. However the two buttons found inside ViewOverlay do not receive touch events and can not be pressed. Tapping them does nothing at all. I very well may be going about this in the entirely wrong direction. Any ideas?

• Androids ExpandableListView - where to put the button listener for buttons that are children

  I have been playing around a lot with the ExpandableListView and I cannot figure out where to add the button listeners for the button that will be the children in the view. I did manage to get a button listener working that uses getChildView() below, but it seems to be the same listener for all the buttons. The best case scenario is that I would be able to implement the button listeners in the class that instantiates the ExpandableListAdapter class, and not have to put the listeners in the actual ExpandableListAdapter class.   Hi I'm trying to represent a view that rotates on the iphone screen. I have a button and when you press it, the view rotates 180 degrees. My problem is that this only works the first time. • "didChangeSection:" NSfetchedResultsController delegate method not being called

  I have a standard split view controller, with a detail view and a table view. Pressing a button in the detail view can cause the an object to change its placement in the table view's ordering. This works fine, as long as the resulting ordering change doesn't result in a section being added or removed. I.e. an object can change it's ordering in a section or switch from one section to another. Those ordering changes work correctly without problems. But, if the object tries to move to a section that doesn't exist yet, or is the last object to leave a section (therefore requiring the section its leaving to be removed), then the application crashes. NSFetchedResultsControllerDelegate has methods to handle sections being added and removed that should be called in those cases. But those delegate methods aren't being called for some reason. Based on the Apple's NSFetchedResultsControllerDelegate documentation "didChangeSection" should have been called before "didChangeObject", which would have prevented the exception causing the crash. So I guess the question is how do I assure that didChangeSection gets called? Thanks in advance for any help!

• reloadData not working - suspect cell's reuseIdentifier

  I have a view controller that gets presented modally and changes some data that effects the data in a uitableview in the modal's parent view controller (a table view). I call the tableview's reloadData method when the parent view reappears. I have confirmed that this code gets hit with a break point. My trouble is, reloadData isn't working. Here's the kicker - if I don't use reuseIdentifiers in the - (UITableViewCell *)cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath method, the data reloads correctly. It looks like the reuseIdentifier is to blame. I really want to continue to use the reuseIdentifier for my cells - how do I make this work?

• In MVVM are DataTemplates considered Views as UserControls are Views?

  In MVVM, every View has a ViewModel. A View I understand to be a Window, Page or UserControl to which you can attach a ViewModel from which the view gets its data. But a DataTemplate can also render a ViewModel's data. So I understand a DataTemplate to be another "View", but there seem to be differences, e.g. Windows, Pages, and UserControls can define their own .dlls, one type is bound with DataContect the other through attaching a template so that Windows, Pages, UserControls can can be attached to ViewModels dynamically by a ServiceLocator/Container, etc. How else are DataTemplates different than Windows/Pages/UserControls when it comes to rendering a ViewModel's data on the UI? And are there other types of "Views" other than these four?

  What's the simplest way to have a scroll view (with pagingEnabled set to YES) have a page width set to something other than the scroll view's bounds? Let me give an example. Suppose I have a scroll view with 10 items, each 150 pixels wide, and my scroll view is 300 pixels wide. If I start with views 1 and 2 visible and scroll horizontally to the right, I want the next "page" to show items 2 and 3. If I scroll one more page to the right, I would see items 3 and 4. Has anyone done this? If not, what strategy would you use?

• Ads in whole app iPhone problem

  I am using mobclix together with admob. The code is to big to add it in all classes. So i created a new class: Ads Everytime i want an ad in a view, i have to send the view to the ad class: - (void)initAd:(UIView *) pView { NSLog(@"ads init"); self.loadedView = pView; ..... To create an ad in a class: Ad* ad = [Ads new]; [ad initAd:self.view]; I dont know if thats the right way. I have to create a new Ads object everytime i change a view (or class). Is there a way to always have an Ads instance running, or is there another better way? Thanks alot!!
