I know that I can take my asp.net application and get it reversed to a UML document, but that doesn't tell the whole story of things like who can use what, what it calls in the way of stored procedures, what pages call what pages etc. etc.
Does anyone know of an article where someone has a comprehensive way to document a web application/site? Or shall I just make up my own way?
Is this a probable security flaw. A user in public (lets say Starbucks) tries to log in to iOS application. He enters user id and password [Password is hidden using xxxxxxxx (not exposed)] and a call comes in or he presses home and the application goes to background.
a) Does iOS store an image of current screen
b) A malicious hacker with intent takes control of the device. Can he read the password ?
Do we have to clear out sensitive information while going to background
In classic Delphi database application we have a form, a set of data-aware visual controls connected to TDataSets via TDataSources. If one wants to design database application using MVC model, where to place TDataSet components? Should they stay on form and therefore be a part of View? Or should they be encapsulated inside some Model object? If the latter how they could be bound to visual components?
Hi
I create some elements( UIComponents, mainly Panels) inside the “mx:Application name=”tst” “. I need to cleanup all those UIComponent’s on MouseClick event , using Actionscript. Is there any way I access the children elements of mx:Application ( I used
var totalChildren:Number = this[‘tst’].numChildren ;
but looks like it fails to access the children list).
Thanks

I have an application that uses the Process class, StandardInput, and StandardOutput to communicate with an external executable. I am using this to pass strings back and forth, and it works well in my Windows application.
On the mobile device, I do not see StandardInput or StandardOutput in the Process class. Is there an easy way to replicate this functionality on the Mobile?
I have to make an application where a "sender" can send a message to a group of people and to a location. So when a member of the group reach this place (using location position with the cell phone), he receives all the messages for this location. I have thought to make the application using the twitter API, but I'm not really sure if that functionality is possible.
Thank you!

User can switch active application by Alt+Tab or by clicking on thier pictograms in TaskBar. Is it possible to get the name (or other unique characterestic) of current active application?
I want to write a program which collects statistic of the applications usage.
First of all i must say i am new to wpf and mvvm.
I want to develop a client-server application(clients send info to the server and the serer notifies one or more of them..consider something like yahoo messenger(some user changes his status..sends info to the server and the sever notifies his friends and changes to their UI are made)
My question is: does mvvm suits well with this kind of application?

I recently start playing with Openshift and I am wondering if there is a way to deploy ( test) your application on local host before you upload it on openshift.
Thing is that every time I make change on the code, it takes some time to push it to openshift and check if it works.
Google app engine SDK ( for Eclipse), for example, includes a web server application (app engine simulator) that allows you to test your app locally before you deploy on google.
thnx

What is the best way for an SWT application to clean up resources before application exit? I see two options:
1) Add a DisposeListener to main window (or better, to the Display). Will it get run if an uncaught exception happens?
2) Use a shutdown hook. Any problems to be aware of there which aren't mentioned in Design of the Shutdown Hooks API?
I have followed the "Hello World" example from Google's Android developer's guide. When I try to run the application in the SDK emulator, nothing happens. The emulator startd up nicely, but after that nothing happens. I can't even see the application in the app tray.
I am using Eclipse with the Android add-on installed.

I have this Singleton class inside a Web Application .
public class MyDAO
{
private static MyDAO instance;
private MyDAO() {
}
public static MyDAO getInstance() {
if (instance == null) {
instance = new MyDAO();
}
return instance;
}
I will access it this way
public void get_Data()
{
MyDAO dao = MyDAO.getInstance();
}
How many Objects of MyDAO class will be created if there are 3 Users accessing the Application ??
Will there be one instance of MyDAO per User ??
I want to open files, which are doubleclicked in Explorer, in the same instance of my .Net application, e.g. in a new tab. How can I do this?
For now each file starts new instance of my application. Many programs can open files in the same instance, for example, Opera and Notepad++, so there is an easy way for sure.

Hello,
Where can I find an overview (website) of best practices for implementing an Access (2007) application (with a FE/BE architecture) regarding to security, performance and maintainability? I know about designing tables, queries, forms and so on and I'm a reasonable programmer, but I'm wondering what's the "best" and most efficient way to implement my "application".
Thanks in advance for your help.
I want to log some seemingly random errors I'm getting in a Delphi written COM DLL. How do I do this? Is it possible to use the Application.OnException event handler? I have control of the COM DLL source, but not the calling application.
