  • Brainstorming: Weird JPA problem, possibly classpath or jar versioning problem???

    - by Vinnie
I'm seeing a weird error message and am looking for some ideas as to what the problem could be. I'm sort of new to using the JPA. I have an application where I'm using Spring's Entity Manager Factory (LocalContainerEntityManagerFactoryBean), EclipseLink as my ORM provider, connected to a MySQL DB and built with Maven. I'm not sure if any of this matters..... When I deploy this application to Glassfish, the application works as expected. The problem is, I've created a set of stand alone unit tests to run outside of Glassfish that aren't working correctly. I get the following error (I've edited the class names a little) com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity cannot be cast to com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity The object cannot be cast to a class of the same type? How can that be? Here's a snippet of the code that is in error Query q = entityManager.createNamedQuery("MyEntity.findAll"); List entityObjects = q.getResultList(); for (Object entityObject: entityObjects) { com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity entity = (com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity) entityObject; Previously, I had this code that produced the same error: CriteriaQuery cq = entityManager.getCriteriaBuilder().createQuery(); cq.select(cq.from(com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity.class)); List entityObjects = entityManager.createQuery(cq).getResultList(); for (Object entityObject: entityObjects) { com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity entity = (com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity) entityObject; This code is question is the same that I have deployed to the server. Here's the innermost exception if it helps Caused by: java.lang.ClassCastException: com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity cannot be cast to com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity at com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.factory.MyEntityFactory.createBeans(MyEntityFactory.java:47) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.SimpleInstantiationStrategy.instantiate(SimpleInstantiationStrategy.java:115) ... 37 more I'm guessing that there's some jar I'm using in Glassfish that is different than the ones I'm using in test. I've looked at all the jars I have listed as "provided" and am pretty sure they are all the same ones from Glassfish. Let me know if you've seen this weird issue before, or any ideas for correcting it.

  • Dynamically writing page titles and active classes with php

    - by toomanyairmiles
For some time now I've been using the following code to dynamically write in html page titles and add an active class to menu items. Is this still a good why to achieve this or are there better/smarter/optimal ways of achieving the same thing? <?php echo (basename($_SERVER['SCRIPT_FILENAME'])=='contact.php'? 'class="active"' : '');?> Menu example <ul id="nav"> <li><a href="index.php" target="_parent" <?php echo (basename($_SERVER['SCRIPT_FILENAME'])=='index.php'? 'class="active"' : '');?>><span>Home</span></a></li> <li><a href="services.php" target="_parent" <?php echo (basename($_SERVER['SCRIPT_FILENAME'])=='services.php'? • Fitting a rectangle into screen with XNA

    - by alecnash
I am drawing a rectangle with primitives in XNA. The width is: width = GraphicsDevice.Viewport.Width and the height is height = GraphicsDevice.Viewport.Height I am trying to fit this rectangle in the screen (using different screens and devices) but I am not sure where to put the camera on the Z-axis. Sometimes the camera is too close and sometimes to far. This is what I am using to get the camera distance: //Height of piramid float alpha = 0; float beta = 0; float gamma = 0; alpha = (float)Math.Sqrt((width / 2 * width/2) + (height / 2 * height / 2)); beta = height / ((float)Math.Cos(MathHelper.ToRadians(67.5f)) * 2); gamma = (float)Math.Sqrt(beta*beta - alpha*alpha); position = new Vector3(0, 0, gamma); Any idea where to put the camera on the Z-axis?

  • How to collect the new "Applications and Services Logs" found on Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 us

    - by Mark
In Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7 there are new Events categorized under "Applications and Services Logs". There is also a subfolder called Microsoft which has tons of subfolders as well. Is there any way to collect these events through WMI? For the regular "Windows Logs" such as Application and Security, it is possible to use the Win32_NTLogEvent WMI class in the cimv2 namespace. However, this class does not provide access to the new Microsoft event logs. Any ideas?

When I tried using follow code to get the sum of the column named Serviceinfo.services $conditions = array('fields'=>array('SUM(Serviceinfo.services) as servicecount'),'conditions'=>array('time_id BETWEEN ? AND ?'=>array($startid,$endtid))); $services = $this->Serviceinfo->find('all',$conditions); I had to fetch the sum data with services[0][0]['servicecount'] which seems a little weird. And What I expect is services['Serviceinfo']['servicecount'],or more simple one. Then how can I fix this? Thanks in advance!

  • What's a Java alternative to Google App Engine for developing iPhone Push Notification services?

    - by bpapa
I'm a Java programmer who is working on an iPhone application. I'd like it to use Push Notification services. I originally thought I could use Google App Engine to provide the payloads to Apple, but I see now that it won't be possible because App Engine doesn't support the low-level socket programming that is needed to communicate with Apple. Are there any alternatives to Google App Engine that let me use Java? In brief, I'm wondering if there is a free hosting platform that supports Java and Socket Programming

  • How can I get/set default printers on a per-user basis in Terminal Services with C#?

    - by Charlie
I want to be able to get and set the default printer for users within Windows Terminal Services, but I don't see any relevant functions. (The closest I've seen is RDS User Config, but it doesn't appear to do what I need.) It can be done by name or by ID (however necessary). For example, something like this pseudocode: For each user, u: p = u.GetDefaultPrinter() if p.name=='Inkjet' then: p2 = GetPrinterByName('Laser') u.SetDefaultPrinter( p2 )
