  • Call private method in Flex, Actionscript.

    - by core07
I need it in FlexUnit to test private methods. Is there any possibility to do this via reflection by using describeType or maybe flexUnit has some build in facility? I dislike artificial limitation that i cannot test private functions, it greatly reduces flexibility. Yes it is good design for me to test private functions, so please do not advise me to refactor my code. I do not want to break the encapsulation for the sake of unit testing.

  • best option to create simple website mockup with navigation

    - by Buzzer
I'm trying to put together a static html website with full navigation. In other words, I want the user to click some links and images and actually be taken to another page. I'm a developer so I know how to do this in frameworks like ASP.Net MVC and grails. However, for this particular case, I just want to quickly mock up the UI and provide simple navigation so I can do some user testing. Can anyone advice on how to do this? Thanks,

  • Strange behavior of move with strings

    - by Umair Ahmed
I am testing some enhanced string related functions with which I am trying to use move as a way to copy strings around for faster, more efficient use without delving into pointers. While testing a function for making a delimited string from a TStringList, I encountered a strange issue. The compiler referenced the bytes contained through the index when it was empty and when a string was added to it through move, index referenced the characters contained. Here is a small downsized barebone code sample:- unit UI; interface uses System.SysUtils, System.Types, System.UITypes, System.Rtti, System.Classes, System.Variants, FMX.Types, FMX.Controls, FMX.Forms, FMX.Dialogs, FMX.Layouts, FMX.Memo; type TForm1 = class(TForm) Results: TMemo; procedure FormCreate(Sender: TObject); end; var Form1: TForm1; implementation {$R *.fmx} function StringListToDelimitedString ( const AStringList: TStringList; const ADelimiter: String ): String; var Str : String; Temp1 : NativeInt; Temp2 : NativeInt; DelimiterSize : Byte; begin Result := ' '; Temp1 := 0; DelimiterSize := Length ( ADelimiter ) * 2; for Str in AStringList do Temp1 := Temp1 + Length ( Str ); SetLength ( Result, Temp1 ); Temp1 := 1; for Str in AStringList do begin Temp2 := Length ( Str ) * 2; // Here Index references bytes in Result Move ( Str [1], Result [Temp1], Temp2 ); // From here the index seems to address characters instead of bytes in Result Temp1 := Temp1 + Temp2; Move ( ADelimiter [1], Result [Temp1], DelimiterSize ); Temp1 := Temp1 + DelimiterSize; end; end; procedure TForm1.FormCreate(Sender: TObject); var StrList : TStringList; Str : String; begin // Test 1 : StringListToDelimitedString StrList := TStringList.Create; Str := ''; StrList.Add ( 'Hello1' ); StrList.Add ( 'Hello2' ); StrList.Add ( 'Hello3' ); StrList.Add ( 'Hello4' ); Str := StringListToDelimitedString ( StrList, ';' ); Results.Lines.Add ( Str ); StrList.Free; end; end. Please devise a solution and if possible, some explanation. Alternatives are welcome too.

  • Fastest primality test

    - by Grigory Javadyan
Hi. Could you suggest a fast, deterministic method that is usable in practice, for testing if a large number is prime or not? Also, I would like to know how to use non-deterministic primality tests correctly. For example, if I'm using such a method, I can be sure that a number is not prime if the output is "no", but what about the other case, when the output is "probably"? Do I have to test for primality manually in this case? Thanks in advance.

  • REST/JSON: Should I include a newline after the JSON string?

    - by Mark Harrison
If I'm returning ["foo"] from a RESTful web query, Which of these is more proper? Will pedantic REST parsing die on the newline? ["foo"]\n (with newline, Content-Length=8) ["foo"] (no newline, Content-Length=7) For easy regression testing I like the form with the newline, but I want to make sure I won't be breaking any application frameworks that might have a more strict view of the REST format.

  • Unit test distributed software

    - by user262646
Is there any tool or framework able to make it easier to "unit test" distributed software written in Java? My system under test is a peer-to-peer software, and I'd like to perform testing using something like PNUnit, but with Java instead of .Net.

  • Two Survey Questions not populating in survey

    - by user3685991
Two questions (questions #2 and #3) did not populate in my survey for respondents. All questions, including these two, was mandatory. The question is visible in the preview and when tested (testing was completed eight times). The browser is internet explorer. The survey link is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/3YWNTR5 This survey was used for a graduate school Capstone research project. If I could recover the answers to these questions, I would be grateful. Thank you, Jennifer Granger

  • Easymock vs Mockito: Design vs Maintainability?

    - by RAbraham
One way of thinking about this is: if we care about the Design of the code then Easymock is the better choice as it gives feedback to you by its concept of expectations If we care about the maintainability of tests( easier to read, write and having less brittle tests which are not affected much by change), then Mockito seems a better choice. My question is: - If you have used Easymock in large scale projects, do you find that your tests are harder to maintain? - What are the limitations of Mockito( other than endo testing)

  • DB2 Driver Connection Hanging in Glassfish Connection Pool

    - by Ant
We have an intermittent issue around the DB2 used from a Glassfish connection pool. What happens is this: Under situations where the database (DB2 on ZOS) is under stress, our application (which is a multi-threaded application using connections to DB2 via a Glassfish connection pool) stops doing anything. The following are observed: 1) Looking at the server using JConsole, we can see a thread waiting indefinitely in the DB2 driver's getConnection() method. We can also see that it has gained a lock on a Vector within the driver. Several other threads are also calling the getConnection() method in the driver, and are hanging waiting for the lock on the Vector to be released. 2) Looking at the database itself, we can see that there are connections from the Glassfish server open and waiting to be used. It seems that there is some sort of mismatch between the connection pool on Glassfish and the connections actually open to DB2. Has anyone come across this issue before? Or something similar? If you need any more information that I haven't provided, then please let me know!

  • Datamapper In Memory Database

    - by Daniel Ribeiro
It is easy to setup Datamapper with a Sqlite3 in memory database with: DataMapper.setup :default, 'sqlite3::memory:'. However, when testing, I'd like to destroy the whole in memory database after each test, instead of invoking automigrate! as a shortcut on dropping everything. Is it possible? Or is it enough to set the default repository to nil, and let the garbage collector dispose of it?

  • Example of standalone Apache Qpid (amqp) Junit Test

    - by Wiretap
Does anyone have an example of using Apache Qpid within a standalone junit test. Ideally I want to be able to create a queue on the fly which I can put/get msgs within my test. So I'm not testing QPid within my test, I'll use integration tests for that, however be very useful to test methods handling msgs with having to mock out a load of services.

  • How to parse a url string using mvc2 routes

    - by Lavinski
If I have a url http://www.site.com/controllerA/actionB/idC how can i extract the RouteValueDictionary where the item with the key controller would have the value of controllerA. Note this isn't for testing so I don't want to use mocking and the solution here does not seem to be working.

  • Applet class loader cannot find one of the classes in the jar

    - by Chry Cheng
I get the ff. error in Java Console occassionally: Exception in thread "thread applet-my.package.MyApplet-10" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: another/package/SomeClass at my.package.MyApplet.init(MyApplet.java:95) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager$AppletExecutionRunnable.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: another.package.SomeClass at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(Unknown Source) ... 3 more Caused by: java.io.IOException: open HTTP connection failed:https://myserver/mycontext/applets/another/package/SomeClass.class at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.getBytes(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.access$000(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) ... 7 more My applet tag is as follows: <applet codebase="../../applets" code="my.package.MyApplet" class="invisible" id="myApplet"> <param value="value0" name="param0"/> ... <param value="valueN" name="paramN" /> <param value="folder/myApplet__0.0.1177.jar,folder/commons-io-1.3.2__0.0.1177.jar,..." name="cache_archive"/> <param value="0.0.1177.0,0.0.1177.0,...," name="cache_version"/> </applet> It is important I stress the word "occasionally". Sometimes the applet is initialized without a hitch. This also means that, often, when the browser is restarted, the problem goes away. I am aware of http://stackoverflow.com/questions/698890/applet-fails-to-load-class-from-jar and http://stackoverflow.com/questions/872905/applet-class-loader-cannot-find-a-class-in-the-applets-jar but I think they are not applicable to my case. SomeClass and MyApplet are in the same jar and the page is being accessed locally.

  • HTML parser for GAE

    - by Richard
Generally I use lxml for my HTML parsing needs, but that isn't available on Google App Engine. The obvious alternative is BeautifulSoup, but I find it chokes too easily on malformed HTML. Currently I am testing libxml2dom and have been getting better results. Which pure Python HTML parser have you found performs best? My priority is the ability to handle bad HTML over speed.

  • What is the difference between NULL in C++ and null in Java?

    - by Stephano
I've been trying to figure out why C++ is making me crazy typing NULL. Suddenly it hits me the other day; I've been typing null (lower case) in Java for years. Now suddenly I'm programming in C++ and that little chunk of muscle memory is making me crazy. Wikiperipatetic defines C++ NULL as part of the stddef: A macro that expands to a null pointer constant. It may be defined as ((void*)0), 0 or 0L depending on the compiler and the language. Sun's docs tells me this about Java's "null literal": The null type has one value, the null reference, represented by the literal null, which is formed from ASCII characters. A null literal is always of the null type. So this is all very nice. I know what a null pointer reference is, and thank you for the compiler notes. Now I'm a little fuzzy on the idea of a literal in Java so I read on... A literal is the source code representation of a fixed value; literals are represented directly in your code without requiring computation. There's also a special null literal that can be used as a value for any reference type. null may be assigned to any variable, except variables of primitive types. There's little you can do with a null value beyond testing for its presence. Therefore, null is often used in programs as a marker to indicate that some object is unavailable. Ok, so I think I get it now. In C++ NULL is a macro that, when compiled, defines the null pointer constant. In Java, null is a fixed value that any non-primitive can be assigned too; great for testing in a handy if statement. Java does not have pointers, so I can see why they kept null a simple value rather than anything fancy. But why did java decide to change the all caps NULL to null? Furthermore, am I missing anything here?

  • ios6 web app delete privacy setting

    - by Higgs Boson
I'm developing a web app and testing on my iPhone 5 running iOS6. The app was running as a home screen app and during use requested access to the camera roll on the phone which I allowed, this has added a toggle in settings privacy photos on the phone for my web app. I've since abandoned this web app and deleted the home screen icon but the toggle still shows in the privacy settings, I'd like to remove this toggle but I can't seem to find a way to do so. Can anyone help?
