• PHP Mail() to Gmail = Spam

  Recently Gmail has started marking emails sent directly from my server (using php mail()) as spam and I'm having problems trying to find the issue. If I send an exact copy of the same email from my email client it goes to the Gmail inbox. The emails are plain text, around 7 lines long and contain a URL link in plain text. As the emails sent from my client are getting through fine I'm thinking that the content isn't the issue. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could take a look at the the following headers and give me some advice why the email from the server is being marked as spam.   First time i am going to work on (maintenance project) application that is already in production.The application was developed in ASP.net 3.5/C# 3.0(web forms) with jQuery,Ajax,Sql server 2005 and microsoft enterprise library 4.0.,WCF services. Questions (bear with me if my question is wrong) 1) Is it possible to use Visual Studio (2008 with SP1) to debug the remote application (i.e already in production)?.What are the tools do i need to use in order to keep track the things in case something went wrong? 2) Simply looking into Log file ,will solve the issues? 3) After having done with enhancements,is it possible to directly deploy the DLLs into production server.Won't it affect the running application?   I have worked in many projects and have notice some people just refuse and have no interest in learning new technology. They simply look down to every simple tool and technology. It’s hard to understand how they got here at first place. I have understanding for time for family and social activities. But I don’t understand the lack of any single interest. It’s kind of being in wrong business. I have read this question and I think the problem is the people. How do you handle a developer that has taken "early retirement" (unwilling to learn)? How do you motivate them? What is the term for people who refuses to learn new technology?

  I have a list of strings which are candidates for Enumerations values. They are Don't send diffs 500 lines 1000 lines 5000 lines Send entire diff The problem is that spaces, special characters are not a part of identifiers and even cannot start with a number, so I would be sanitizing these values to only chars, numbers and _ To keep the original values I thought of putting these strings in the DescriptionAttribute, such that the final Enum should look like public enum DiffBehvaiour { [Description("Don't send diffs")] Dont_send_diffs, [Description("500 lines")] Diff_500_lines, [Description("1000 lines")] Diff_1000_lines, [Description("5000 lines")] Diff_5000_lines, [Description("Send entire diff")] Send_entire_diff } Then later using code I will retrieve the real string associated with the enumeration value, so that the correct string can be sent back the web service to get the correct resource. I want to know how to create the DescriptionAttribute using System.Reflection.Emit Basically the question is where and how to store the original string so that when the Enumeration value is chosen, the corresponding value can be retrieved. I am also interested in knowing how to access DescriptionAttribute when needed.

• System.Net.WebProxy in .NET Client

  I don't yet have a good understanding of how the network is set up at my current client, but here is my issue. The vendor has a normal URL, but it might be a leased line. I have a .NET program that calls an external .asmx service. If I go to IE, Connections, LAN Settings, and uncheck "Automatic detect settings" and uncheck "Use Automatic Configuration Sript", then the .NET program runs and access the web service fine. But then, to access internet again from the browser, I have to re-check the two boxes, and so on throughout the day while we are testing and browsing. I'm hoping to put some code like this in the .NET program to avoid us having to constantly change: if (chkUseProxy.Checked) { myclient.Proxy = new System.Net.WebProxy(""); } I tried null and empty string and so far not able to connect without errors. Is this possible, and if so, what might be the correct parms for the constructor? Or are there other objects or properties that would need to be set? Thanks, Neal Walters

  Are there any Source Code Management (SCM) tools made specifically for solo programmers or small groups of programmers that tracks every small change made to source code in real time? This would require all key strokes to be tracked, and any other small changes like GUI UI editing. This seems like it would be a very useful tool for a programmer trying to remember a fix he did an hour ago that they didn't manually commit.

• Custom flash mp3 player stopping in the middle of playing audio on windows nt ie6 system

  We have used a custom MP3 flash player for a lot of years on our website without any issues, but recently, a client of ours is reporting that the audio is playing for several seconds and then stopping. When they refresh the page or click play in the player again the audio plays fine. We are puzzled as to what could be causing this issue after this running successfully for our clients for so many years. The client system is Windows NT running IE6. Does anyone have any idea what could cause the audio to behave this way? Could audio drivers or the version of flash cause problems? We do not have flash programmers on our team so we are not even sure where to start looking within the flash code of the player. Any ideas?

However, when I run on web server, the output is ++++++ ++++++ So $VAR is missing when passing in the web interface/browser. I know maybe the problem is $VAR is very long string. But anyway, is there anyway to solve this problem except writing the output to a file then retrieve it from browser? Thanks if you are interested in my question.

  I've been testing Hudson for a few days now and for PHP projects it seems ok; What I need though is a system that will allow me to publish an SVN tag to an FTP folder without adding a pile of rubbish on the end; hudson gets overexcited and adds a pile of folders to the export. Are their any other decent systems; it needs to be simple to use as this will eventually fall under the control of 'admins' in order to meet sox compliance (aka the man with the gun cant pull the trigger). Basic Requirements: Must be free and downloadable to a server (FTP's internal only here) Needs to be able to interact with SVN Needs to be able to publish to FTP Needs matrix login permissions (or AD if its something that can go on IIS) Needs to be auditable (logging) Tell me if im not being clear enough here; thanks.   Profile that is used for ASP.NET Profile Service is not available in Page code behind files like in Page_Load. It may be just a problem with Visual Studio installation/configuration, but as another problem, classes placed in App_Code in not seen in page codes. Even when I'm adding new ASP.NET folder to my project, "App_Code" is not available as an option. I tested the entire scenario with ASP.NET Web Project and Empty ASP.NET Web Project. This problem does exists while creating ASP.NET Website. Environment: Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate x64, ASP.NET 4.0, Windows Server 2008 R2 x64. What may be the problem and how it can be solved?

  I need to connect to a database in Sqlite so i downloaded and installed System.Data.SQLite and with the designer dragged all my tables. • Read nested Lua table who key is a System.Double

  Using C# and LuaInterface, I am trying to read a nested table, but am getting a null LuaTable when I try to open the key containing the table. The .lua file: DB = { ["inventory"] = { [10001] = { ["row"] = 140, ["count"] = 20, }, [10021] = { ["row"] = 83, ["count"] = 3, }, [10075] = { ["row"] = 927, ["count"] = 15, }, } } I can successfully foreach the entries under inventory, by opening that table with: LuaTable tbl = lua.GetTable("DB.inventory"); foreach (DictionaryEntry de in tbl) ... What I cannot do is open an inventory item and enumerate its entries the same way. Is this because the key is a System.Double type? This fails: LuaTable tbl = lua.GetTable("DB.inventory.10001"); foreach (DictionaryEntry de in tbl) with an exception, because tbl is null. Effectively, once I enumerate the keys (inventory items), I then want to drill down into the nested table and work with those contents. As you can see, I am not able to get a reference to the nested table the way I am doing it.

  Hi, I am implementing a tag cloud system based on this recommendation. (However, I am not using foreign keys) I am allowing up to 25 tags. My question is, how can I handle editing on the items? I have this item adding/editing page: Title: Description: Tags: (example data) computer, book, web, design If someone edits an item details, do I need to delete all the tags from Item2Tag table first, then add the new elements? For instance, someone changed the data to this: Tags: (example data) computer, book, web, newspaper Do I need to delete all the tags from Item2Tag table, and then add these elements? It seems inefficient, but I could find a more efficient way. The other problem is with this way is, if someone edits description but does not change the tags box, I still need to delete all the elements from Item2Tag table and add the same element. I am not an experienced PHP coder, so could you suggest a better way to handle this? (pure PHP/MySQL solution is preferable) Thanks in advance,

• Convert File System Website to IIS Website

  We recently migrated from VS 2008 to VS 2010. The migration went fine, except for our web project. Before, in VS 2008, the site showed up as http://localhost/Website. Now, it appears as C:...\Website. It appears that when we did the migration, VS started to treat it as a file system website. I've tried removing the existing site and re-adding it as an existing website, but it still displays it as C:...\Website. Is there any way to convert it back to show it as a http://localhost/website, and run through IIS, as opposed to the default ASP.NET Development Server?

• IE8 Debugger: how to load external javascript files?

  I have downloaded and installed IE8. I was playing around with the debugger, but I could not figure out how to load external javascript files. It displays the javascript from the main page, but I need to debug the script in the external files. I have googled various articles that show a screenshot of an IE8 debugger with a drop-down for selecting which script to debug, but my debugger does not feature this. Can anyone help me with this?
