• how to swap array-elements to transfer the array from a column-like into a row-like representation

    - by Christian Ammer
For example: the array a1, a2, a3, b1, b2, b3, c1, c2, c3, d1, d2, d3 represents following table a1, b1, c1, d1 a2, b2, c2, d2 a3, b3, c3, d3 now i like to bring the array into following form a1, b1, c1, d1, a2, b2, c2, d2, a3, b3, c3, d3 Does an algorithm exist, which takes the array (from the first form) and the dimensions of the table as input arguments and which transfers the array into the second form? I thougt of an algorithm which doesn't need to allocate additional memory, instead i think it should be possible to do the job with element-swap operations.

  • proper way to hide dynamic elements with jQuery

    - by GrandVizier
    I have a div element which my code will fill with a dynamic amount of links. Using jquery, I want to hide all the links except the first one. This is what I came up with and it works, I was just wondering if this is the best way to do it: $("#panelContainer").each(function(n) { $(this).children().hide(); $("#panelContainer a:first").show(); });

  • std::set<T>::erase(key). What if key isn't there?

    - by Armen Tsirunyan
if I erase an element from an std::set and pass the key, not the iterator, and the key isn't in the set right now, will an exception be thrown? The thing is every second sentence in the MSDN documentation says: "this does blah blah, but it doesn't conform to the standard". So I need to know the standard behaviour. I just couldn't find it in the standard. Redirecting to the relevant clause will do as well. Thanks.

  • Another void C# question

    - by Jim Jones
Have a type in the header files I'm working with called VTVOID it is the type of a struct element and a number of parameters. In the header file defining types is the line #define VTVOID void I read in another discussion the void maps to System.Void however when I plug that into the C# code I get the error "System.Void cannot be used in C# -- use typeof(void) to get the void object." So what type do I plug in? Jim

  • In jQuery, is there any way to only bind a click once?

    - by Chris Henry
I have an ajax app that will run functions on every interaction. I'd like to be able to run my setup function each time so all my setup code for that function remains encapsulated. However, binding elements more than once means that the handler will run more than once, which is obviously undesirable. Is there an elegant way in jQuery to call bind on an element more than once without the handler being called more than once?

  • Evaluate column value into rows

    - by Hugo Palma
I have a column whose value is a json array. For example: [{"att1": "1", "att2": "2"}, {"att1": "3", "att2": "4"}, {"att1": "5", "att2": "6"}] What i would like is to provide a view where each element of the json array is transformed into a row and the attributes of each json object into columns. Keep in mind that the json array doesn't have a fixed size. Any ideas on how i can achieve this ?

  • How to set an onClick attribute that would load dynamic content?

    - by konzepz
This code is suppose to add an onClick event to each of the a elements, so that clicking on the element would load the content of the page dynamically into a DIV. Now, I got this far - It will add the onClick event, but how can I load the dynamic content? $(document.body).ready(function () { $("li.cat-item a").each(function (i) { this.setAttribute('onclick','alert("[load content dynamically into #preview]")'); }); }); Thank you.

  • Tree Menu? In JS?

    - by acidzombie24
I need a tree menu. But instead of a listview where you expand/collapse i need a dropdown box with the list and when you click on a element i need the box to update (with the first entry being 'Back') so the menu stays in a neat little dialog. Does this menu have a name? Does anyone know where i can get code to do this?

  • Specify a OneWay Binding in HandleBars - Ember

    - by Miguel Madero
Is there a way to Specify a OneWay Binding in HandleBars? bind-attr always calls Ember.bind, which always create a two way binding. This seems to be the case for elements that don't even change: <img {{bind-attr class=":class-name-to-always-apply"}}> But even in cases where the element could change, we might have reasons to update it manually (e.g. performance or we don't want to change it on textChanged, but do it manually)

  • How to retrieve an input's value without the browser interpreting html special entities?

    - by CaptainQwyx
Is there a way in JavaScript or MooTools to retrieve the actual text in the value from an input element without the browser interpreting any html special entites? Please see the example included below. My desired outcome is:

Your text is: [<script>alert('scrubbed');</script>]

Note that it works if I type/copy <script>alert('scrubbed');</script> directly into the text input box, but fails if I insert right after loading the page.

scrubtest

  • How to implement context menu on key press instead of long click/tap

    - by takyon
I have a ListActivity and I want to implement context menu for each of the list elements. I know that the common way to do this is to show the context menu on long click/tap. I want to know if there is a way to show the context menu for each element on a key press(preferably the menu key). To rephrase my question, how can I trigger the context menu and not the options menu by pressing the menu key(or any other key).

  • Ignoring namespace prefix while parsing xml

    - by Rachel
If a xhtml file has namespace prefixes in the document and the namespace for the prefixes is not defined, is it possible to ignore the prefixes and still parse the file when using SAX parser. Is there a way to get rid of the error "The prefix for element is not bound." without defining the namespace for the prefixes while parsing?

  • How to set clickable and highlightable a View?

    - by Pentium10
I have ViewStubs in my layout. If I set clickable and implement the OnClickListener this does work only on the root of the element. But the layout holds parent elements, and when I click on those the click is not recognized. How do I make a full row/view of ViewStub as whole to be clickable and highlightable like a ListView elements? Also what do I have to add to get that orange highlight?

  • How do I detect a text input's value and set a class with jQuery?

    - by Zander
I would like to make sure if a textbox has any content at all, that jQuery can show it's parent (an <li class="hidden_dedication") element and set add a class of 'shown'. I'm pretty sure that it should be something like this, but cannot get it to work: if ($('li.hidden_dedication input').val() !== null) { $(this).parent().show().addClass('shown'); } I cannot figure it out.. any ideas? Many thanks

  • IE8 ignores absolute positioning and margin:auto

    - by tuff
I have a lightbox-style div with scrolling content that I am trying to restrict to a reasonable size within the viewport. I also want this div to be horizontally centered. This is all easy in Fx/Chrome/IE9. My problem is that IE8 ignores the absolute positioning which I use to size the content, and the rule margin: 0 auto which I use to horizontally center the lightbox. 1) Why? 2) What are my options for workarounds? EDIT: The centering issue is fixed by setting text-align:center on the parent element, but I have no idea why that works since the element I want to center is not inline. Still stuck on the absolute positioning stuff. HTML:

titlebar

CSS: body { overflow: hidden; height: 100%; margin: 0; padding: 0; } /* IE8 needs ruleset above */ .bg { background: #333; position: fixed; top: 0; right: 0; bottom: 0; left: 0; height: 100%; /* needed in IE8 or the bg will only be as tall as the lightbox */ } .a { background: #eee; border: 3px solid #000; height: 80%; max-height: 800px; min-height: 200px; margin: 0 auto; position: relative; width: 80%; min-width: 200px; max-width: 800px; } .aa { background: lightblue; height: 28px; line-height: 28px; text-align: center; } .b { background: coral; overflow: auto; padding: 20px; position: absolute; top: 30px; right: 0; bottom: 0; left: 0; } Here's a demo of the problem: http://jsbin.com/urikoj/1/edit

  • IE7 and IE8: Float clearing without adding empty elements

    - by tk-421
Hello, I'm having a problem similar to the one described here (without a resolution): http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2467745/ie7-float-and-clear-on-the-same-element The following HTML renders as intended in Firefox but not in (both) IE7 and IE8:

1

2

3

4

5

6

7

This is a form layout, and in Firefox the results appear like: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 That's what I'm going for. In IE7 and IE8 however, the results are: 1 2 3 5 6 4 7 [Note: I don't want to float anything to the right because I want the fields on my form to left-align correctly, without a giant space in-between the floated fields to account for the parent container's width.] Apparently I need a full clear, and can probably add an empty list-item element to the list to force clearing, but that seems like a dumb solution and sort of defeats the purpose. Any ideas? I've spent a few hours reading and trying different options without success.
