When we command "net use" on command prompt, the result has four columns.
Status Local Remote Network
OK Z: \\10.x.x.x\Public Microsoft Windows Network
X: \\10.y.y.y\Public My Network Redirector
The Microsoft Windows Network(SMB)'s Status has OK value, but we don't. It's just empty.
We implemented NPEnumResource function in our Network Provider dll.
But I don't know how can I set the value(OK).
How can I do that?
Thanks
I have a little problem, I have an Ubuntu server running Tomcat, what I want to do is connect my Eclipse EE to it so I can work with JSP.
I have no problem connecting to a similar Tomcat service when its installed on my machine (not a server), but whenever I try to the remote server I don't seem to have the option of choosing a Tomcat service...
Is there some guide you can recommend (I didn't find one), or is there something I did wrong?
Any help would be appreciated...

Hi.. My mysql database is located on a remote machine... So i dont have any local copy of mysql on my local machine.. i get the registry key error... (file not found)...
serverKey = _winreg.OpenKey(_winreg.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, options['registry_key'])
WindowsError: [Error 2] The system cannot find the file specified
I think it requires to have a local copy of mysql... How do i install the mysqldb for database residing on another machine???
I am trying to open a remote shell via ssh to send commands from R.
As long as I send commands, I need to get results and send new commands that depends on the output of the previous ones.
For this reason I am looking for a solution to open a connection and manage it from within the R code until I have finished. I also need to open the connection with ssh key exchange (so without password authentication).
Looking at CRAN I didn't find anything useful.
Hi there,
I'm in the need for a SCP library (free or commercial) to be used in a .Net 3.5 project. I've already had a look at SharpSSH but it lacks the a couple of basic features (like enumerating all files in a remote directory). Do you know a good, solid and cheap library?
Hi volks,
I copied my sources from my lokal dev (everything works fine) to my repository and from there I did a checkout on my remote dev.
Now when I try to build everything I get this error:
devel:/var/www/myproject# ./symfony
doc:build-model
doctrine generating model classes
file+ /tmp/doctrine_schema_48726.yml
Warning:
file_get_contents(/var/www/myproject/lib/model/doctrine//base/BaseAdvert.class.php):
failed to open stream: No such file or
directory in
/var/www/myproject/lib/vendor/symfony/lib/plugins/sfDoctrinePlugin/lib/task/sfDoctrineBuildModelTask.class.php
on line 77
Do you know what the problem could be?
Thx for your answers :)
More of a general question - I don't understand the workings of NSURLSession when using it in "background session mode". I will supply some simple contrived example code.
I have a database which holds objects - such that portions of this data can be uploaded to a remote server. It is important to know which data/objects were uploaded in order to accurately display information to the user. It is also important to be able to upload to the server in a background task because the app can be killed at any point.
for instance a simple profile picture object:
@interface ProfilePicture : NSObject
@property int userId;
@property UIImage *profilePicture;
@property BOOL successfullyUploaded; // we want to know if the image was uploaded to out server - this could also be a property that is queryable but lets assume this is attached to this object
@end
Now Lets say I want to upload the profile picture to a remote server - I could do something like:
@implementation ProfilePictureUploader
-(void)uploadProfilePicture:(ProfilePicture *)profilePicture completion:(void(^)(BOOL successInUploading))completion
{
NSUrlSession *uploadImageSession = ..... // code to setup uploading the image - and calling the completion handler;
[uploadImageSession resume];
}
@end
Now somewhere else in my code I want to upload the profile picture - and if it was successful update the UI and the database that this action happened:
ProfilePicture *aNewProfilePicture = ...;
aNewProfilePicture.profilePicture = aImage;
aNewProfilePicture.userId = 123;
aNewProfilePicture.successfullyUploaded = NO;
// write the change to disk
[MyDatabase write:aNewProfilePicture];
// upload the image to the server
ProfilePictureUploader *uploader = [ProfilePictureUploader ....];
[uploader uploadProfilePicture:aNewProfilePicture completion:^(BOOL successInUploading) {
if (successInUploading) {
// persist the change to my db.
aNewProfilePicture.successfullyUploaded = YES;
[Mydase update:aNewProfilePicture]; // persist the change
}
}];
Now obviously if my app is running then this "ProfilePicture" object is successfully uploaded and all is well - the database object has its own internal workings with data structures/caches and what not. All callbacks that may exist are maintained and the app state is straightforward.
But I'm not clear what happens if the app "dies" at some point during the upload. It seems that any callbacks/notifications are dead. According to the API documentation- the uploading is handled by a separate process. Therefor the upload will continue and my app will be awakened at some point in the future to handle completion. But the object "aNewProfilePicture" is non existant at that point and all callbacks/objects are gone. I don't understand what context exists at this point. How am I supposed to ensure consistency in my DB and UI (For instance update the "successfullyUploaded" property for that user)? Do I need to re-work everything touching the DB or UI to correspond with the new API and work in a context free environment?
I'm considering creating a simple remote debugging application for Javascript. Actually, I want to provide an object to Firebug Lite and let it do all the job.
So, can I get an object from one page, serialize it, send it to server and then to another browser and finally see the same results in Firebug Lite (on that other client) as I would see on the first browser (with doing "console.dir(obj)")? Is it possible to do?
Hello,
I have a local sql express server with DB A and remote server uXXX.mssql.domainname.com with DB B.
using sql mangament studio 2008, I want to move copy DB A to DB B with all tables, data, dependencies and stored procedures.
how to figure out this problem? I only had understood table and table data copying(using Tasks-Import Data).
I was able to create an ODBC Data Source locally for my SQL Server 2008. Now I moved to anohter machine and want to connect from the new machine to that SQL Server 2008.
I know by default the SQL Server 2008 will not listen for the remote connection. I have enabled its Browser and TCP/IP.
Error window is like this:
I have an entry in my hosts file that points somesite.com to 127.0.0.1 (localhost) so that I can test certain aspects of my web app (i goto http://somesite.com in a browser to test). Can someone suggest a way to debug a setup like this (in visual studio) that does not include using http://localhost?
I understand that this can most likely be done using remote debugger, if that is the best way can someone explain how thats setup (or a link to a good article).
Hi all ,
I build a mobile application getting data from a remote server via web service . I'm using the JCP 172 sun implementation to use the service .
Some of the data is in Hebrew , it displayed as strange chars , and I return the data from the web service as UTF 8 .
Is there any workarround on this problem .
Thanks in advance ...
This is a noob question:
How do I add gems to my rails app in a way that I can just copy my app's directory structure to a remote location and have it just work, with all the gems I depend on installed and available?
Hi, I have a question about ruby and wsdl soap.
I couldn't find a way to get each method's params and their type.
For example, if I found out that a soap has a methods called "get_user_information" (using wsdlDriver) is there a way to know if this method requires some params and what type of params does it require (int, string, complex type, ecc..)?
I'd like to be able to build html forms from a remote wsdl for each method...
Sorry for my horrible English :D
I'm working with a shell account in a shared system and I would like to use some version control software for my bash scripts and config files.
It must works on Linux with no dependencies, just unpack it in my home dir. I don't need remote checkout, branching or other fancy tricks. I want to be able to commit my changes and restore them if needed.
I have a socket application which I can use in local network, at home.
I can make them communicate for example from 192.168.x.x to 192.168.y.y ip addresses.
What should I do if I want to use the application over internet, from a remote machine, not local. For example which ip addresses should I use if my friend who lives another country wants to access my application.
I assume I would need a special centronics cable to do this, but is it possible to get the print data from the remote device and convert it to a image file in .Net?
thanks,
Jason
A possible reason because a NullPointerException is a runtime exception is because every method can throw it, so every method would need to have a "throws NullPointerException", and would be ugly. But this happens with RemoteException.
And a possible reason because RemoteException is not a runtime exception, is to tell it client to treat the exception. But every method in a remote environment need throws it, so there is no difference of throwing NullPointerException.
Speculations? Was I clear?
Does anybody know a clean PHP-based solution that can backup remote web sites using FTP?
Must haves:
Recursive FTP backups
Possible to run through a cron job
Easy to configure (easy adding of multiple sites)
Local storage of backup files is sufficient
Would be nice:
Backed up sites are stored as zip files
A nice interface to manage things
Provides notification when backup has succeeded or failed
Does incremental backups
Does MySQL Database backups
I need this to be PHP (or Perl) based because it's going to be used on shared hosting packages that do not allow usage of the standard GNU/Linux tools available.
I'm trying to create an offline HTML5 test application, and am playing with the new google fonts api at the same time. Does anyone have any ideas how to cache the remote fonts? Simply putting the api call in the cache manifest doesn't work, I assume this is because the api actually loads other files (ttf, eot, etc).
Any ideas if using the font api offline would be possible?
For reference this is the call I am making:
http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=IM+Fell+English|Molengo|Reenie+Beanie
The prevailing wisdom in webservices/web requests in general is to design your api such that you use as few requests as possible, and that each request returns therefore as much data as is needed
In database design, the accepted wisdom is to design your queries to minimise size over the network, as opposed to minimizing the number of queries.
They are both remote calls, so what gives?
Hi,
Can i open a new window after execution of some code(ie at some point of time before completion i need to open a new window in zend.Can i do this?
Also how can i check the size of a remote file.
Thanks in advance.........
Hey All,
assuming I'm running a small shop (3 devs) and using a Windows 7 machine as a centralised Git and IIS server what is the easiest way to get CI up and running?
This must be locally hosted CI (no github, no remote servers).
I'm doing C# .Net development with Visual Studio 2008.
Any help on getting this running with the minimum of effort and the nicest possible UI would be extremely helpful.
Thanks!
Hey,
The question is pretty simple, but i'm not the big AJAX/JS coder, so I have no clue if it's possible.
Is there any way that I can check whether or not an alert() was executed on a remote site? Like if I inputted an alert("Welcome to this site"); through a get variable, is there any way to check if it that alert() was actually executed in the browser?
And not necessarily through AJAX/JS.
