  • My Blog Needs some Upgrading !

Witch are the best widgets i could add without killing the SEO and where is a good place i could find ways to Tweak my blog and learn to sustain it better.   • Are there new flexible texteditors? [closed]

    Vi(m) and Emacs are almost 40 years old. Why are they still the standard, and what attempts have been made at coming up with a new flexible editor? Are there any features which can not be built into vim/emacs? My question is similar to this one: Time to drop Emacs and vi? No one had a suggestion, which surprises me. I would have thought that the core of a texteditor is very small and that people brew their own. Perhaps nobody wants to deal with supporting all the modes? Edit to clarify my question: Instead of writing modes and scripts I ask myself, why there is not a much lightweight project, which lets people custom the editor more directly? Vim has 365395 LOC (C lines all included), Emacs 1.5 million LOC. Why is there a project with say 50k LOC, which is the core, why people can use more freely? Perhaps there is such project, I haven't looked very far. I thought about putting together modules from Vim myself and experimenting with some ideas. The core of editing shouldn't be more than 10k? Vim has a lot optimizations which is really an overkill nowadays. Basically I'm looking for a code base for my own editor and Vi/Emacs are I believe not intended to be used in this way. Bill Joy said the following about vi. http://web.cecs.pdx.edu/~kirkenda/joy84.html The fundamental problem with vi is that it doesn't have a mouse and therefore you've got all these commands. In some sense, its backwards from the kind of thing you'd get from a mouse-oriented thing. I think multiple levels of undo would be wonderful, too. But fundamentally, vi is still ed inside. You can't really fool it. Its like one of those pinatas - things that have candy inside but has layer after layer of paper mache on top. It doesn't really have a unified concept. I think if I were going to go back - I wouldn't go back, but start over again.

  • Git autocomplete is asking for a password, not sure why

    I'm running into an issue with autocomplete using git... I am using ubuntu 12.10 and when I perform the following keystrokes g i t Space Bar Tab I am presented with the error Pseudo-terminal will not be allocated because stdin is not a terminal. and prompted for a password.     I was going through one article here and the topic was "Changing the Size and Appearance of the Unity Launcher" which required to open up CompizConfig from System Settings -- Desktop. I could find System Settings and could reach to control panel but cannot locate either Desktop or CompizConfig. When i go to Software center and search for compizconfig, it says that it is already installed.But when i search it from the list of installed applications, i couldn't find it.??

    I've upgraded from 12.04 to 12.10 and compiz and/or unity are constantly crashing rendering my computer useless (no top bar, no dash, no window decorations). I have just discovered that when I login with the guest account everything seems to be working OK. I've been through all the threads I could find and haven't found a resolution. This isn't Nvidia related (I am running on a System76 laptop with ATI Radeon). Is there any way I can go about isolating the problem and restore my user account?

    Hi there i installed moodle to a directory with softaculous as it doesn't allow installing to subdomain, after install I created a subdomain and pointed the destination (of subdomain) to previously created moodle directory, now when I go to the subdomain.example.com it says Incorrect access detected, this server may be accessed only through "http://example.com/moodle" address, sorry. Please notify server administrator. Any suggestions much appreciated! I must be doing something wrong, when installing it was very similar to these instructions

  • Logitech C270 webcam reading from wrong position

    Have got my Logitech C270 webcam working out of the box for cheese, skype and it's working fine, sound as well. But when I go to a website stream it is looking for my camera here; file/dev/video0 the trouble is everything else is say my webcam is here instead; file/dev/video1 So it works ok on Skype with those settings but other sites are looking for cam in the wrong place? Thanks now for any advice :)
