• PHP - Remove whitespace from within a string.

  I get a string from a db, then I remove all the HTML tags, carriage returns and newlines, before I put it in a csv. Only thing is I cant remove the excess white space from between the strings, any ideas? Thanks, Joe

  I have come across ABRecordCopyCompositeName() in these pages but, having Spotlighted it, have a hunch it's only available for the IOS platform. The AddressBook app itself, and ABPeoplePicker obviously do something similar internally, so is there an equivalent API for OSX? It's a tedious thing to retrieve title, first name, middle name, last name, suffix and work out if it's a company before building it yourself.

  In VB6 there are local static variables that keep their values after the exit of procedure. It's like using public vars but on local block. For example: sub count() static x as integer x = x + 1 end sub After 10 calls, x will be 10. I tried to search the same thing in .NET (and even Java) but there was none. Why? Does it break the OOP model in some way, and is there a way to emulate that.

  Hi A Flash program is connecting to WCF web service hosted on a server without anti-virus and without firewall and windows server 2003 64 bit environment. The flash return Connection failed message When I sniffer it I found that the Flash program cannot find these requests, http://IP:2805/BLL.svc?xsd=xsd1 http://IP:2805/BLL.svc?xsd=xsd0 The strange thing is that the service work fine with asp.net. also the same service deployed on another server, just work fine!! Is there a work around. Thanks

• Setting dijit.Tree cookie for all pages

  I'm using the same dijit.Tree view over several pages in our application, and I'd like to have the cookie saved for the server name, instead of the folder name. Right now I've got 3 pages and 3 cookies, which each hold their own information on the state of the Tree, which is kinda annoying. Any ways to accomplish this? The only thing I've found on cookies in the API, is that I can set the cookieName and turn cookies on/off.

• Is it possible to convert text to shape in VML /canvas/SVG ?

  Hello, I need to display a text in 3D using vml/canvas/svg and do some transformation to the shape of the text like the effect of Ctrl+T in photoshop, even align a line of text to a curve, is there a way to convert text to shape first? The only thing close is getImageData() in firefox which is not ideal but OK. Any better methods? Using browser-specific hacks or voodoo is OK, but no Flash please :)

The app itself is a Flash app, but I can write a native executable for the mac to launch it, I just don't know how to dictate which display it opens in.   Currently i have sql-server nvarchar(max) column which has text that starts with """ The only thing that varies in the pattern is the < in the class name. The common part is "" Some sample values are "" "" "" All the These span text are present only at the beginning of the column. Any such matching span in the middle should not be removed or matched. Whats the sql server query with regex to remove all these occurance of span?
