  • Logging errors in SCSF

    - by WF
I'm quite new to SCSF. So, I'm developping a SCSF Winforms in C# (using May 2007 version in VSNet 2005 Fwk2.0, I can't use new version). I've implemented a Business module. What is the best practise to log errors? I've configured the Logging Application Block. But how to use that ? Thanks for answers

  • VS 2008 does not understand .resource files

    - by Dmitry
I'm trying to add globalization support to my C# application. According to MSDN, there should be one embedded resource file for neutral culture and satellite DLLs with resource files for other cultures. I've created 2 satellite DLLs without any problems and got my app to automatically load right one using ResourceManager. But I can't embed default neutral culture resource file into my executable. When I remove all satellite DLLs or set culture to some culture I don't have satellite DLL for, I get exception "Could not find any resources appropriate for the specified culture or the neutral culture." when application attempts to create ResourceManager. It looks like VS 2008 does not include my .resource file into main assembly. I've tried different ways to get resource file embedded: compiling it by resgen.exe from text file and adding it to the project; changing its name to add second .resources extension; creating .resx file with same name; etc. And I still don't see the way to get resource file embedded and used by ResourceManager - I'm having same exception. What is the right way to add default neutral culture resource file to application in VS 2008 ?

  • forward/strong enum in VS2010

    - by Noah Roberts
At http://blogs.msdn.com/vcblog/archive/2010/04/06/c-0x-core-language-features-in-vc10-the-table.aspx there is a table showing C++0x features that are implemented in 2010 RC. Among them are listed forwarding enums and strongly typed enums but they are listed as "partial". The main text of the article says that this means they are either incomplete or implemented in some non-standard way. So I've got VS2010RC and am playing around with the C++0x features. I can't figure these ones out and can't find any documentation on these two features. Not even the simplest attempts compile. enum class E { test }; int main() {} fails with: 1e:\dev_workspace\experimental\2010_feature_assessment\2010_feature_assessment\main.cpp(518): error C2332: 'enum' : missing tag name 1e:\dev_workspace\experimental\2010_feature_assessment\2010_feature_assessment\main.cpp(518): error C2236: unexpected 'class' 'E'. Did you forget a ';'? 1e:\dev_workspace\experimental\2010_feature_assessment\2010_feature_assessment\main.cpp(518): error C3381: 'E' : assembly access specifiers are only available in code compiled with a /clr option 1e:\dev_workspace\experimental\2010_feature_assessment\2010_feature_assessment\main.cpp(518): error C2143: syntax error : missing ';' before '}' 1e:\dev_workspace\experimental\2010_feature_assessment\2010_feature_assessment\main.cpp(518): error C4430: missing type specifier - int assumed. Note: C++ does not support default-int ========== Build: 0 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 up-to-date, 0 skipped ========== int main() { enum E : short; } Fails with: 1e:\dev_workspace\experimental\2010_feature_assessment\2010_feature_assessment\main.cpp(513): warning C4480: nonstandard extension used: specifying underlying type for enum 'main::E' 1e:\dev_workspace\experimental\2010_feature_assessment\2010_feature_assessment\main.cpp(513): error C2059: syntax error : ';' ========== Build: 0 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 up-to-date, 0 skipped ========== So it seems it must be some totally non-standard implementation that has allowed them to justify calling this feature "partially" done. How would I rewrite that code to access the forwarding and strong type feature?

  • Problem passing ELMAH log id to Custom Error page in ASP.NET

    - by Ronnie Overby
I am using ELMAH to log unhandled exceptions in an ASP.NET Webforms application. Logging is working fine. I want to pass the ELMAH error log id to a custom error page that will give the user the ability to email an administrator about the error. I have followed the advice from this answer. Here is my global.asax code: void ErrorLog_Logged(object sender, ErrorLoggedEventArgs args) { Session[StateKeys.ElmahLogId] = args.Entry.Id; // this doesn't work either: // HttpContext.Current.Items[StateKeys.ElmahLogId] = args.Entry.Id; } But, on the Custom error page, the session variable reference and HttpContext.Current.Items are giving me a NullReference exception. How can I pass the ID to my custom error page?

Task ATTENDENCE RECORDER AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN DISTRIBUTED ENVIRONMENT ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Example implementation needed. a main server in each lab where the operator punches in the attendence of the student. =========================================================== scenerio:- a college, 10 departments, all departments have a computer lab with 60-100 computers, the computers within each lab are interconnected and all computers in any department have to dail to a particular number (THE NUMBER GIVEN BY THE COLLEGE INTERNET DEPARTMENT) to get connected to the internet. therefore safe to assume that there is a central location to which all the computers in the college are connected to. there is a 'students attendence portal' which can be accessed using internet explorer, students enter there id and get the particular attendence record regarding to the labs only. a description of the working is like:- 1) the user will select which department, which year has arrived to the lab 2) the selection will give the user a return of all the students name and there roll numbers belonging to that department; 'with a check box to "TICK MARK IF THE STUDENT IS PRESENT" ' 3) A SUBMIT BUTTON when pressed reads the 'id' of the checkbox to determine the "particular count number of the student" from that an id of the student is constructed and that id is inserted with a present. (there is also date and time and much more to normalize the db and to avoid conflicts and keep historic records etc but that you will have to assume) steps taken till this date:- ( please note we are not computer students, we are to select something of some other line as a project!, as you will read in my many post 'i" have designed small websites just out of liking. have never ever done any thing official to implement like this.) * have made the database fully normalized. * have made the website which does the functions required on the database. Testing :- deployed the db and site on a free aspspider server and it worked. tested from several computers. Now the problem please help thank youuuuuuuu a practical demonstration has to be done within the college network. no internet! we have been assigned a lab - 60 computers- to demonstrate. (please dont give replies as 60 computers only! is not a big deal one CPU can manage it. i know that; IT IS A HYPOTHETICAL SITUATION WHERE WE ASSUME THAT 60 IS NOT 60 BUT ITS LIKE 60,000 COMPUTERS) 1a) make a web server, yes iis and put files in www folder and configure server to run aspx files- although a link to a step by step guide will be appreciated)\ ? which version of windows should i ask for xp or win server 2000 something? 2a) make a database server. ( well yes install sql server 2005, okay but then what? just put the database file on a pc share it and append the connection string to the share? ) 3a) make the site accessible from the remaining computers ? http://localhost/sitename ? all users "being operators of the particular lab" have the right to edit, write or delete(in dispute), thereby any "users" who hate our program can make the database inconsistent by accessing te same record and doing different edits and then complaining? so how to prevent this? you know something like when the db table is being written to others can only read but not write.. one big confusion:- IN DISTRIBUTED ENVIRONMENT "how to implement this" where does "distributed environment" come in! meaning :- alright the labs are in different departments but the "database server will be one" the "web server will be one" so whats distributed!?

  • My ASP.NET Accordion will not animate panel changes when triggered by check boxes.

    - by CowKingDeluxe
    My accordion panel in markup: <ajaxToolkit:Accordion ID="MyAccordion" runat="server" SelectedIndex="0" HeaderCssClass="accordionHeader" HeaderSelectedCssClass="accordionHeaderSelected" ContentCssClass="accordionContent" AutoSize="None" FadeTransitions="true" TransitionDuration="250" FramesPerSecond="40" RequireOpenedPane="false" SuppressHeaderPostbacks="true"> <Panes> <ajaxToolkit:AccordionPane ID="AccordionPane10" runat="server"> <Header>BBBBBBBBBB</Header> <Content> FFFFFFFF:<br /><br /> <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="750"><tr><td width="450" class="verificationtdleft"> <asp:Image ID="step4_originalimage" runat="server" AlternateText="" /> </td><td width="300"> <asp:CheckBox ID="CB_Verification0" runat="server" AutoPostBack="true" /> Verify </td></tr> </table> </Content> </ajaxToolkit:AccordionPane> <ajaxToolkit:AccordionPane ID="AccordionPane11" runat="server"> <Header>GGGGGGGGG</Header> <Content> HHHHHHHHHH:<br /><br /> <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="750"><tr><td width="450" class="verificationtdleft"> <asp:Image ID="step4_image_thumbnail" runat="server" AlternateText="" /> </td><td width="300"> <asp:CheckBox ID="CB_Verification1" runat="server" AutoPostBack="true" /> Verify </td></tr> </table> </Content> </ajaxToolkit:AccordionPane> </Panes> Here's how I handle the checkbox check: Private Sub CB_Verification0_CheckedChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles CB_Verification0.CheckedChanged MyAccordion.SelectedIndex = 1 End Sub I'm causing the panels to change correctly, it's just that they don't animate like they do when I click the headers. When I click the checkbox to change the panel, the panel just disappears instantly and the new one appears instantly, but I want it to be animated as if I clicked the headers. Is there a way to cause the animation to happen when force changing the visible panel?

  • Create MSI for slipstream SQL 2008 install

    - by Graham
I am looking at creating an MSI that will check/install the prerequisites of SQL Server 2008 and after the prerequisites are installed I will start my slipstream 2008 install. I am currently trying to do this through VS 2008 Deployment Projects, but I cannot just simple add the folders of the SQL slipstream into the setup project without recreating the entire folder structure of the SQL install. So my questions are: Is this a possible to do through Deployment Projects? (if yes, please assist with links or help) Is there a better way to do this? (I would prefer not to use WISE)

  • Compare _TCHAR* argv[] entries from command line to _T("paramString")

    - by David
    I know how to get the parameters from the command line. I also know how to print them out. The problem I'm having is how to compare the parameters from the argv[] array to a string. The progam runs but never returns a result where the parameter string is equal to the one I'm looking for. Thanks in advance. // Testing.cpp : Defines the entry point for the console application. // #include "stdafx.h" #include <iostream> using namespace std; int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[]) { for (int i = 0; i < argc; i = i + 1) { if (argv[i] == _T("find")) { wcout << "found at position " << i << endl; } else { wcout << "not found at " << i << endl; } } return 0; }

  • How can I stop an auto-generated Linq to SQL class from loading ALL data?

    - by Gary McGill
DUPLICATE of http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2433422/how-can-i-stop-an-auto-generated-linq-to-sql-class-from-loading-all-data post answers there! I have an ASP.NET MVC project, much like the NerdDinner tutorial example. (I'm using MVC 2, but followed the NerdDinner tutorial in order to create it). As per the instructions in part 3 of the tutorial, I've created a Linq-to-SQL model of my database by creating a "Linq to SQL Classes" (.dbml) surface, and dropping my database tables onto it. The designer has automatically added relationships between the generated classes based on my database tables. Let's say that my classes are as per the NerdDinner example, so I have Dinner and RSVP tables, where each Dinner record is associated with many RSVP records - hence in the generated classes, the Dinner object has a RSVPs property which is a list of RSVP objects. My problem is this: it appears (and I'd be gladly proved wrong on this) that as soon as I access a Dinner object, it's loading all of the corresponding RSVP objects, even if I don't use the RSVPs member. First question: is this really the default behavior for the generated classes? In my particular situation, the object graph contains many more tables (which have an order of magnitude more records), and so this is disastrous behaviour - I'd be loading tons of data when all I want to do is show the details of a single parent record. Second question: are there any properties exposed through the designer UI that would let me modify this behavior? (I can't find any). Third question: I've seen a description of how to control the loading of related records in a DataContext by using a DataShape object associated with the DataContext. Is that what I'm meant to do, and if so are there any tutorials like the NerdDinner one that would show not only how to do it, but also suggest a 'pattern' for normal use?

  • VS2008: File creation fails randomly in unit testing?

    - by Tim
I'm working on implementing a reasonably simple XML serializer/deserializer (log file parser) application in C# .NET with VS 2008. I have about 50 unit tests right now for various parts of the code (mostly for the various serialization operations), and some of them seem to be failing mostly at random when they deal with file I/O. The way the tests are structured is that in the test setup method, I create a new empty file at a certain predetermined location, and close the stream I get back. Then I run some basic tests on the file (varying by what exactly is under test). In the cleanup method, I delete the file again. A large portion (usually 30 or more, though the number varies run to run) of my unit tests will fail at the initialize method, claiming they can't access the file I'm trying to create. I can't pin down the exact reason, since a test that will work one run fails the next; they all succeed when run individually. What's the problem here? Why can't I access this file across multiple unit tests? Relevant methods for a unit test that will fail some of the time: [TestInitialize()] public void LogFileTestInitialize() { this.testFolder = System.Environment.GetFolderPath( System.Environment.SpecialFolder.LocalApplicationData ); this.testPath = this.testFolder + "\\empty.lfp"; System.IO.File.Create(this.testPath); } [TestMethod()] public void LogFileConstructorTest() { string filePath = this.testPath; LogFile target = new LogFile(filePath); Assert.AreNotEqual(null, target); Assert.AreEqual(this.testPath, target.filePath); Assert.AreEqual("empty.lfp", target.fileName); Assert.AreEqual(this.testFolder + "\\empty.lfp.lfpdat", target.metaPath); } [TestCleanup()] public void LogFileTestCleanup() { System.IO.File.Delete(this.testPath); } And the LogFile() constructor: public LogFile(String filePath) { this.entries = new List<Entry>(); this.filePath = filePath; this.metaPath = filePath + ".lfpdat"; this.fileName = filePath.Substring(filePath.LastIndexOf("\\") + 1); } The precise error message: Initialization method LogFileParserTester.LogFileTest.LogFileTestInitialize threw exception. System.IO.IOException: System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file 'C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\empty.lfp' because it is being used by another process..

  • .NET Framework 4 in WPF not showing bitmap effect

    - by Adrian
I am having a problem using VS2010 and framework version 4 with bitmap effects. If I have the code below and run it in a WPF application using the .NET Framework 4 Client Profile, the bitmap effect does not appear. If I set the framework version to .NET Framework 3.5 Client Profile (and change no code), it runs as expected. At first, I thought it was a problem in my application, but I removed the code and put it in a separate standalone application and it behaves the same. Anyone else verify that the same problem happens? What is happening here? The version 4 framework in VS2010 just seems to ignore the bitmap effect. <Window.Resources> <Style x:Key="SectionHeaderTextBlockStyle" TargetType="{x:Type TextBlock}"> <Setter Property="FontFamily" Value="Segoe UI"/> <Setter Property="FontSize" Value="18"/> <Setter Property="FontWeight" Value="Bold"/> <Setter Property="VerticalAlignment" Value="Center"/> <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="LightGreen"/> <Setter Property="BitmapEffect"> <Setter.Value> <OuterGlowBitmapEffect GlowColor="Black" GlowSize="3" /> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> </Window.Resources> <Grid VerticalAlignment="Center" HorizontalAlignment="Center"> <TextBlock Text="Contact Details" Style="{DynamicResource SectionHeaderTextBlockStyle}"/> </Grid>

  • AcceptButton for each group of controls in different tabs, Can't use some envents in Combobox to mak

    - by Muhammad Kashif Nadeem
I have different tabs on my UserControl. Each tab has some controls and button. I want to change AcceptButton on the basis of group of controls I am in. I can use TextChanged event or Enter event to make a button AcceptButton for Textboxes but I have some Comboboxes too. These combos are auto complete so I can't user Enter event on these, because on Enter these combos should be completed. Following image can explain my problem more. Thanks.

  • How do I compile boost using __cdecl calling convention?

    - by Sorin Sbarnea
I have a project compiled using __cdecl calling convention (msvc2010) and I compiled boost using the same compiler using the default settings. The project linked with boost but I at runtime I got an assert message like this: File: ...\boost\boost\program_options\detail\parsers.hpp Line: 79 Run-Time Check Failure #0 - The value of ESP was not properly saved across a function call. This is usually a result of calling a function declared with one calling convention with a function pointer declared with a different calling convention. There are the following questions: what calling convention does boost build with by default on Windows (msvc2010) how to I compile boost with __cdecl calling convention why boost wasn't able to prevent linking with code with different calling conventions? I understood that boost has really smart library auto-inclusion code.

  • How to tell if two exe's are the same code-wise?

    - by yumcious
Is there a way to detect whether two EXE's (compiled from VS.Net 2008 for C++/MFC) do not have any code-level changes between them i.e. for purposes of knowing that there have been no statement changes. This is for compliance purposes when my vendor ships me an exe, ostensibly with no changes made to the code since the last time we tested it. Is there a tool to check that this is so? Cheers

  • EF4 generates invalid script

    - by Jaxidian
When I right-click in a .EDMX file and click Generate Database From Model, the resulting script is obviously wrong because of the table names. What it generates is the following script. Note the table names in the DROP TABLE part versus the CREATE TABLE part. Why is this inconsistent? This is obviously not a reusable script. What I created was an Entity named "Address" and an Entity named "Company", etc (all singular). The EntitySet names are pluralized. The "Pluralize New Objects" boolean does not change this either. So what's the deal? For what it's worth, I originally generated the EDMX by pointing it to a database that had tables with non-pluralized names and now that I've made some changes, I want to go back the other way. I'd like to have the option to go back and forth as neither the db-first nor the model-first model is ideal in all scenarios, and I have the control to ensure that there will be no merging issues from multiple people going both ways at the same time. -- -------------------------------------------------- -- Dropping existing FOREIGN KEY constraints -- NOTE: if the constraint does not exist, an ignorable error will be reported. -- -------------------------------------------------- ALTER TABLE [Address] DROP CONSTRAINT [FK_Address_StateID-State_ID]; • xaml nested class path designer issue

Hi, I have nested class public class Enums { public enum WindowModeEnum { Edit, New } } In my xaml I reference code: <Style.Triggers> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding WindowMode}" Value="{x:Static Types1:Enums+WindowModeEnum.Edit}"> <Setter Property="Visibility" Value="Collapsed" /> </DataTrigger> </Style.Triggers> Code compiles and runs properly, however I can't open xaml code in design window. I am getting following error: Type 'Types1:Enums+WindowModeEnum' was not found. at MS.Internal.Metadata.ExposedTypes.ValueSerializers.StaticMemberDocumentValueSerializer.ConvertToDocumentValue(ITypeMetadata type, String value, IServiceProvider documentServices) at MS.Internal.Design.DocumentModel.DocumentTrees.Markup.XamlMarkupExtensionPropertyBase.get_Value() at MS.Internal.Design.DocumentModel.DocumentTrees.DocumentPropertyWrapper.get_Value() at MS.Internal.Design.DocumentModel.DocumentTrees.InMemory.InMemoryDocumentProperty..ctor(DocumentProperty property, InMemoryDocumentItem item) at MS.Internal.Design.DocumentModel.DocumentTrees.InMemory.InMemoryDocumentItem.SetUpItem(DocumentItem item) Same error exist in VS2008, VS2010. Does anybody has any idea, how to deal with it so I can open window in design mode. Thanks a lot. Sincerely, Vlad.

  • Get logged in user details in sharepoint c# webpart

    - by MalphasWats
Hi, After much wrangling I have a development environment for building sharepoint webparts in c#. I'm completely new to SP development, so I haven't quite found the various API docs, so I'm hoping someone can help get me started. Eventually, I want to write a simple web part that allows its user to display different content depending on who the current user is. What I'd like to do first though is just build a dead simple webpart that will simply print out the current user's details - username, full name and any permissions groups that they have. Thanks

    Hi, Could someone please help me to solve unhandled exception error when using visual C++ 2008? the error is displayed as follow: Unhandled exception at 0x00411690 in time.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000008 Actually when I used visual c++ 6 in the past, there weren't any error and the program was running fine. But now ehen I use visual 2008, I am getting this Unhandled exception error. Here is the program: #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <time.h> #ifdef _WIN32 // #include <winsock.h> #include <windows.h> #include "stdint.h" // typedef __int64 int64_t // Define it from MSVC's internal type // typedef unsigned __int32 uint32_t #else #include <stdint.h> // Use the C99 official header #include <sys/time.h> #include <unistd.h> #endif #if defined(_MSC_VER) || defined(_MSC_EXTENSIONS) #define DELTA_EPOCH_IN_MICROSECS 11644473600000000Ui64 #else #define DELTA_EPOCH_IN_MICROSECS 11644473600000000ULL #endif struct timezone { int tz_minuteswest; /* minutes W of Greenwich */ int tz_dsttime; /* type of dst correction */ }; #define TEST #ifdef TEST uint32_t stampstart(); uint32_t stampstop(uint32_t start); int main() { uint32_t start, stop; start = stampstart(); /* Your code goes here */ stop = stampstop(start); return 0; } #endif int gettimeofday(struct timeval *tv, struct timezone *tz) { FILETIME ft; unsigned __int64 tmpres = 0; static int tzflag = 0; if (NULL != tv) { GetSystemTimeAsFileTime(&ft); tmpres |= ft.dwHighDateTime; tmpres <<= 32; tmpres |= ft.dwLowDateTime; tmpres /= 10; /*convert into microseconds*/ /*converting file time to unix epoch*/ tmpres -= DELTA_EPOCH_IN_MICROSECS; tv->tv_sec = (long)(tmpres / 1000000UL); tv->tv_usec = (long)(tmpres % 1000000UL); } if (NULL != tz) { if (!tzflag) { _tzset(); tzflag++; } tz->tz_minuteswest = _timezone / 60; tz->tz_dsttime = _daylight; } return 0; } uint32_t stampstart() { struct timeval tv; struct timezone tz; struct tm *tm; uint32_t start; gettimeofday(&tv, &tz); tm = localtime(&tv.tv_sec); printf("TIMESTAMP-START\t %d:%02d:%02d:%d (~%d ms)\n", tm->tm_hour, tm->tm_min, tm->tm_sec, tv.tv_usec, tm->tm_hour * 3600 * 1000 + tm->tm_min * 60 * 1000 + tm->tm_sec * 1000 + tv.tv_usec / 1000); start = tm->tm_hour * 3600 * 1000 + tm->tm_min * 60 * 1000 + tm->tm_sec * 1000 + tv.tv_usec / 1000; return (start); } uint32_t stampstop(uint32_t start) { struct timeval tv; struct timezone tz; struct tm *tm; uint32_t stop; gettimeofday(&tv, &tz); tm = localtime(&tv.tv_sec); stop = tm->tm_hour * 3600 * 1000 + tm->tm_min * 60 * 1000 + tm->tm_sec * 1000 + tv.tv_usec / 1000; printf("TIMESTAMP-END\t %d:%02d:%02d:%d (~%d ms) \n", tm->tm_hour, tm->tm_min, tm->tm_sec, tv.tv_usec, tm->tm_hour * 3600 * 1000 + tm->tm_min * 60 * 1000 + tm->tm_sec * 1000 + tv.tv_usec / 1000); printf("ELAPSED\t %d ms\n", stop - start); return (stop); } thanks for your replies:

  • How to make a grid in a DataTemplate for a ItemTemplate auto-size to ListBox width?

    - by Robert Iagar
    So I have the following DataTemplate for a ListBox.ItemTemplate: <DataTemplate x:Key="Tweet"> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="50"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Image Grid.Column="0" Source="{Binding ProfileImageURL}" Width="50" Height="50"/> <Grid Grid.Column="1"> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <TextBlock Grid.Row="0" FontSize="15" FontWeight="Bold" Text="{Binding User}"/> <TextBlock Grid.Row="1" TextWrapping="Wrap" Text="{Binding Status}"/> <DockPanel Grid.Row="2"> <TextBlock DockPanel.Dock="Left" FontSize="10" TextWrapping="WrapWithOverflow" Text="{Binding TimeAgo}" TextAlignment="Justify"/> <TextBlock DockPanel.Dock="Left" FontSize="10" TextWrapping="Wrap" Text="{Binding Source}"/> </DockPanel> </Grid> </Grid> </DataTemplate> The problem is that it doesn't auto-size to the ListBox. The text gets clipped: TwitBy preview How to fix it? Here's the listBox XAML definition: <ListBox x:Name="tweetsListBox" Margin="3,0" Grid.Row="1" Background="{x:Null}" Grid.IsSharedSizeScope="True" ItemsSource="{Binding}" ScrollViewer.HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Disabled" ItemTemplate="{DynamicResource Tweet}"/> Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  • SQL Azure and VS 2010B2 or SSMSE 2008

    - by Vulgrin
Ok, I see that people have asked this question before, but I'm seeing some conflicting statements. Can I, or can I not, connect directly to my SQL Azure database from SSMSE 2008? I see posts from before November that the SSMS 2008 RC would be able to connect directly - so I don't understand why the newest SSMSE cannot connect. Is it just a problem with the Express version of SSMS? Where can I find the "non-Express" version, if there is one? I can connect to the database via the cancel and connect method - however, you don't get object explorer that way. I see that there are add-ons for VS.Net to allow you to explore the database but I wanted to do it with the base apps if possible. Thanks

  • "Unable to start program" on Debug Immediately After Successful Build

    - by TZ_Geek
When I try to run my first application with the debugger, I get a pop up which says: Visual C__ 2008 Express Edition This project is out of date: ProgName - Debug Win32 Would you like to build it? [Yes[ [No] [Cancel] [ ] Do not show this dialog again? I find this somewhat bothersome, because the very last thing that I did just before that was build the application. And the build did complete successfully (immediately before I clicked on Start Debugging -- F5.) The second time I pressed with wrong cilck on the Answer [No] on the same msg Now, I can't compile my apps What exactly does "do not show this dialog again" mean? It sounds to me like its going to remember my answer and use the same answer every time this situation occurs in the future. I did some stuffs like "Clean Solution" then "Build Solution" then "Start Debugging" ,but the same problem what's the solution ,how can I reset this message to make it work again .
