  • Using font in site

    - by Misha Moroshko
I know that I can use fonts like arial "for free". But what if I want to use not a standard font ? Is that something that a browser should support ? Where I can check, for example, which fonts Firefox 3.6.3 supports ? I would like, for example, to change the font of input text area.

  • How to securely transfer

    - by michaeltk
I have two servers -- a backend server, and a frontend server. Every night, the backend server generates static .html files, which are then compressed into .tar format. I need to write a script that resides on the backend server that will transfer the .tar file to the frontend server, and then decompress that .tar file into to the public web directory of the frontend server. What is the standard, secure way to do this? Thanks in advance.

  • How to install a "virtual" network card on a virtual server?

    - by vikp
Hi, We have purchased an unmanaged VPS windows hosting solution from one of the UK based companies. We have Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition. We need to install certain third party applications on that server. Unfortunatelly, one of the applications requires a MAC address to be present at all times - this is their way of making sure that software is not pirated (which it isn't). We have tried installing a virtual loopback network card, but this has brought the server down - i.e. we couldn't connect using remote desktop any longer. At the moment we are limited with what we can try. This is an unmanaged solution, therefore any support including restarts is rather costly. Are you aware of any low-risk solutions? Thank you

  • Server problem (duh)

    - by j-t-s
Sorry the title couldn't be more specific. I installed Abyss Web Server. I'm running Windows XP Home Edition and I have Wireless Mobile Broadband internet. I used to be able to access (and other people on other networks) my site by entering my ip address in the browser, but after I formatted, and the installed abyss web server again, this does not work anymore. There are no errors. I CAN visit my own site by entering my ip address BUT anybody else can't do the same, it just says "connecting" in the browser's statusbar and it never changes. I have consulted the docs and have found no help. Google hasn't helped with this problem either. Can somebody please help? Thank you :)

  • Datagrid selects the wrong custom cell in my datagrid...

    - by Markus
Hi everybody, I am working on a problem since a week soon, but I still couldn't make it work as expected. I have a DataGrid which has HBox with a CheckBox an a Label as itemRenderer (see Code below). When I tap in to the Cell the standard itemEditor pops up and lets you enter the content of the label. Thats the standard behavior. I works fine except for 2 problems: If I enter to much text, the horizontal srollbar pops up, and the cell is filled with that scrollbar. As you see I tried to set the horizontalScrollPolicy to off, but that doesnt work at all... I tried to do that for all the different elements, but the failure is still existent. When I have filled more than one row, there is an other mistake happening. If I tap on a row, the datagrid selects the one below that row. That's only if one line is already selected. If I tap outside the datagrid and then, tap at any row the itemEditor of the right row will show up... Is there anything now wright in the setup of my set data method? __ package components { import mx.containers.HBox; import mx.controls.CheckBox; import mx.controls.Label; public class ChoiceRenderer extends HBox { private var correctAnswer:CheckBox; private var choiceLabel:Label; public function ChoiceRenderer() { super(); paint(); } private function paint():void{ percentHeight = 100; percentWidth = 100; setStyle("horizontalScrollPolicy", "off"); super.setStyle("horizontalScrollPolicy", "off"); correctAnswer = new CheckBox; correctAnswer.setStyle("horizontalScrollPolicy", "off"); addChild(correctAnswer); choiceLabel = new Label; choiceLabel.setStyle("horizontalScrollPolicy", "off"); addChild(choiceLabel); } override public function set data(xmldata:Object):void{ if(xmldata.name() == "BackSide"){ var xmlText:Object = xmldata.TextElements.TextElement.(@position == position)[0]; super.data = xmlText; choiceLabel.text = xmlText.toString(); correctAnswer.selected = xmlText.@correct_answer; } } } Thanks in advance! • How can I create the XML::Simple data structure using a Perl XML SAX parser?

    - by DVK
Summary: I am looking a fast XML parser (most likely a wrapper around some standard SAX parser) which will produce per-record data structure 100% identical to those produced by XML::Simple. Details: We have a large code infrastructure which depends on processing records one-by-one and expects the record to be a data structure in a format produced by XML::Simple since it always used XML::Simple since early Jurassic era. An example simple XML is: <root> <rec><f1>v1</f1><f2>v2</f2></rec> <rec><f1>v1b</f1><f2>v2b</f2></rec> <rec><f1>v1c</f1><f2>v2c</f2></rec> </root> And example rough code is: sub process_record { my ($obj, $record_hash) = @_; # do_stuff } my $records = XML::Simple->XMLin(@args)->{root}; foreach my $record (@$records) { $obj->process_record($record) }; As everyone knows XML::Simple is, well, simple. And more importantly, it is very slow and a memory hog—due to being a DOM parser and needing to build/store 100% of data in memory. So, it's not the best tool for parsing an XML file consisting of large amount of small records record-by-record. However, re-writing the entire code (which consist of large amount of "process_record"-like methods) to work with standard SAX parser seems like an big task not worth the resources, even at the cost of living with XML::Simple. I'm looking for an existing module which will probably be based on a SAX parser (or anything fast with small memory footprint) which can be used to produce $record hashrefs one by one based on the XML pictured above that can be passed to $obj->process_record($record) and be 100% identical to what XML::Simple's hashrefs would have been. I don't care much what the interface of the new module is; e.g whether I need to call next_record() or give it a callback coderef accepting a record.

  • How to read raw bytes from an SD card?

    - by geschema
On a Windows PC, is there a way to read the raw bytes from an SD card attached trough a USB card reader? The SD card gets written from an embedded system using no file system at all, so I can't use standard file access routines. This is similar to what the unix dd utility does, but I need to integrate this into a .NET application.

  • 504 Gateway Timeout on server clusters

    - by Sixfoot Studio
Hi All, Here's our scenario: We're running three websites on three web servers hosted on virtual machines running the following: IIS6 Win 2003 Standard Edition Oracle 10g Sitefinity 3.7 We do not have constant control over these servers and something's gone wrong in the interim in that we're getting constant 504 Gateway Timeouts. The other thing that's happening is that if you hit one of the sites, that site is trying to pull themes from one of the sites App_Themes folder in Sitefinity, which of course should not be happening at all. If someone has any ideas on why this should suddenly have started happening I would appreciate it. Many thanks

  • Google Apps - Can I configure a wildcard MX record and and catch all emai address for a domain

    - by Rohit
I am using Google Apps Premier Edition. I want to create a disposable email address service and I want to catch all emails for a domain. This means that I should be able to catch all mails sent to an arbitrary userid and/or arbitrary domain and store them into a single Google Apps account. For example, in a single account I want to get all mails sent to: 1) [email protected] 2) [email protected] without requiring to do any extra configuration in Google Apps for abc or xyz. My app will download mails from this account and process accordingly. I have figured out that I could do (1) by specifying a catch all email address. Is the combination of both (1) and (2) possible?

  • Making the sound for a Flash game.

    - by Artemix
Hu guys, I'm developing a Flash game, and I'm interested in knowing what would be the process of making sound. I want to make my own sounds, if possible, and not to download some premade standard (and possibly lawsuitable if they are not "totally free") sounds from the web. So.. I've read that a synthesizer could be useful.. but, I really dont know. Thx!

  • How do I distinguish files and folders on an FTP server

    - by soulmerge
I want to list all files on an FTP server using PHP. According to RFC 959 the FTP command LIST is allowed to print arbitrary human-readable information on files/folders, which seems to make it impossible to determine the file type correctly. But how do other FTP clients manage to distinguish files and folders? Is there an unwritten standard or such?

  • Using URI-fragments in Ruby on rails routing

    - by Alexei
RoR application can generate URL such as /post/10. But now I want to create a site, which works with URI-fragments like gmail. For example gmail uses the following URLs https://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1#sent https://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1#label/books I need to generate URL such as /#/post/10, where controller = "post", action = "show", id = "10". Of course it will be good to use standard url-helpers.

  • Can IMAPI2 burn files with the size > 4Gb?

    - by Sergey Skoblikov
IMAPI2 interface IFileSystem uses COM IStream interfaces to represent file data. There is AddTree method that adds specified directory contents to IFileSystem. So AddTree must create IStream's in the process. I wonder what implementation of IStream it uses? If it uses the standard OLE implementation than we have a nasty problem because OLE streams doesn't support files bigger than 4Gb. Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

  • Displaying success/failure messages from hidden iframe submit

    - by Erik Nelson
I'm using the hidden iframe method to submit a form with a file upload field. I want to display a message back on the page using javascript and I'm not sure how to do this. If this was just a form with text fields I'd do an AJAX post and respond with a message I'd display in my callback function. I'm just not sure how to accomplish this same task with the hidden iframe method since it is a standard form post.

  • Recursively find files/directories within a directory

    - by enchilada
I want to use enumeratorAtURL:includingPropertiesForKeys:options:errorHandler: to do this, as I'm coding under Snow Leopard. I know how to use this method. However, as for my purposes it's not adequate to load the contents lazily, I have the following question: How can I create an object hierarchy (of, say, the custom FileOrDirectory class with the standard children, count,isLeaf attributes) from the information I load from the enumeratorAtURL: method? I need to load this data beforehand, and show it in an outline view, for my purposes.
