  • What are the options for overriding Django's cascading delete behaviour?

    - by Tom
    Django models generally handle the ON DELETE CASCADE behaviour quite adequately (in a way that works on databases that don't support it natively.) However, I'm struggling to discover what is the best way to override this behaviour where it is not appropriate, in the following scenarios for example: ON DELETE RESTRICT (i.e. prevent deleting an object if it has child records) ON DELETE SET NULL (i.e. don't delete a child record, but set it's parent key to NULL instead to break the relationship) Update other related data when a record is deleted (e.g. deleting an uploaded image file) The following are the potential ways to achieve these that I am aware of: Override the model's delete() method. While this sort of works, it is sidestepped when the records are deleted via a QuerySet. Also, every model's delete() must be overridden to make sure Django's code is never called and super() can't be called as it may use a QuerySet to delete child objects. Use signals. This seems to be ideal as they are called when directly deleting the model or deleting via a QuerySet. However, there is no possibility to prevent a child object from being deleted so it is not usable to implement ON CASCADE RESTRICT or SET NULL. Use a database engine that handles this properly (what does Django do in this case?) Wait until Django supports it (and live with bugs until then...) It seems like the first option is the only viable one, but it's ugly, throws the baby out with the bath water, and risks missing something when a new model/relation is added. Am I missing something? Any recommendations?

  • Closing a hook that captures global input events

    - by Margus
    Intro Here is an example to illustrate the problem. Consider I am tracking and displaying mouse global current position and last click button and position to the user. Here is an image: To archive capturing click events on windows box, that would and will be sent to the other programs event messaging queue, I create a hook using winapi namely user32.dll library. This is outside JDK sandbox, so I use JNA to call the native library. This all works perfectly, but it does not close as I expect it to. My question is - How do I properly close following example program? Example source Code below is not fully written by Me, but taken from this question in Oracle forum and partly fixed. import java.awt.AWTException; import java.awt.Dimension; import java.awt.EventQueue; import java.awt.GridLayout; import java.awt.MouseInfo; import java.awt.Point; import java.awt.event.WindowAdapter; import java.awt.event.WindowEvent; import javax.swing.JFrame; import javax.swing.JLabel; import com.sun.jna.Native; import com.sun.jna.NativeLong; import com.sun.jna.Platform; import com.sun.jna.Structure; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.BaseTSD.ULONG_PTR; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.Kernel32; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.User32; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.WinDef.HWND; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.WinDef.LRESULT; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.WinDef.WPARAM; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.WinUser.HHOOK; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.WinUser.HOOKPROC; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.WinUser.MSG; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.WinUser.POINT; public class MouseExample { final JFrame jf; final JLabel jl1, jl2; final CWMouseHook mh; final Ticker jt; public class Ticker extends Thread { public boolean update = true; public void done() { update = false; } public void run() { try { Point p, l = MouseInfo.getPointerInfo().getLocation(); int i = 0; while (update == true) { try { p = MouseInfo.getPointerInfo().getLocation(); if (!p.equals(l)) { l = p; jl1.setText(new GlobalMouseClick(p.x, p.y) .toString()); } Thread.sleep(35); } catch (InterruptedException e) { e.printStackTrace(); return; } } } catch (Exception e) { update = false; } } } public MouseExample() throws AWTException, UnsupportedOperationException { this.jl1 = new JLabel("{}"); this.jl2 = new JLabel("{}"); this.jf = new JFrame(); this.jt = new Ticker(); this.jt.start(); this.mh = new CWMouseHook() { @Override public void globalClickEvent(GlobalMouseClick m) { jl2.setText(m.toString()); } }; mh.setMouseHook(); jf.setLayout(new GridLayout(2, 2)); jf.add(new JLabel("Position")); jf.add(jl1); jf.add(new JLabel("Last click")); jf.add(jl2); jf.addWindowListener(new WindowAdapter() { public void windowClosing(WindowEvent we) { mh.dispose(); jt.done(); jf.dispose(); } }); jf.setLocation(new Point(0, 0)); jf.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(200, 90)); jf.pack(); jf.setVisible(true); } public static class GlobalMouseClick { private char c; private int x, y; public GlobalMouseClick(char c, int x, int y) { super(); this.c = c; this.x = x; this.y = y; } public GlobalMouseClick(int x, int y) { super(); this.x = x; this.y = y; } public char getC() { return c; } public void setC(char c) { this.c = c; } public int getX() { return x; } public void setX(int x) { this.x = x; } public int getY() { return y; } public void setY(int y) { this.y = y; } @Override public String toString() { return (c != 0 ? c : "") + " [" + x + "," + y + "]"; } } public static class CWMouseHook { public User32 USER32INST; public CWMouseHook() throws UnsupportedOperationException { if (!Platform.isWindows()) { throw new UnsupportedOperationException( "Not supported on this platform."); } USER32INST = User32.INSTANCE; mouseHook = hookTheMouse(); Native.setProtected(true); } private static LowLevelMouseProc mouseHook; private HHOOK hhk; private boolean isHooked = false; public static final int WM_LBUTTONDOWN = 513; public static final int WM_LBUTTONUP = 514; public static final int WM_RBUTTONDOWN = 516; public static final int WM_RBUTTONUP = 517; public static final int WM_MBUTTONDOWN = 519; public static final int WM_MBUTTONUP = 520; public void dispose() { unsetMouseHook(); mousehook_thread = null; mouseHook = null; hhk = null; USER32INST = null; } public void unsetMouseHook() { isHooked = false; USER32INST.UnhookWindowsHookEx(hhk); System.out.println("Mouse hook is unset."); } public boolean isIsHooked() { return isHooked; } public void globalClickEvent(GlobalMouseClick m) { System.out.println(m); } private Thread mousehook_thread; public void setMouseHook() { mousehook_thread = new Thread(new Runnable() { @Override public void run() { try { if (!isHooked) { hhk = USER32INST.SetWindowsHookEx(14, mouseHook, Kernel32.INSTANCE.GetModuleHandle(null), 0); isHooked = true; System.out .println("Mouse hook is set.   • Is it possible to receive SMS message on appWidget?

    - by cappuccino
    Is it possible to receive SMS message on appWidget? I saw android sample source(API Demos). In API Demos, ExampleAppWidgetProvider class extends AppWidgetProvider, not Activity. So, I guess it is impossible to regist SMS Receiver like this, rcvIncoming = new BroadcastReceiver() { @Override public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) { Log.i("telephony", "SMS received"); Bundle data = intent.getExtras(); if (data != null) { // SMS uses a data format known as a PDU Object pdus[] = (Object[]) data.get("pdus"); String message = "New message:\n"; String sender = null; for (Object pdu : pdus) { SmsMessage part = SmsMessage.createFromPdu((byte[])pdu); message += part.getDisplayMessageBody(); if (sender == null) { sender = part.getDisplayOriginatingAddress(); } } Log.i(sender, message); } } }; registerReceiver(rcvIncoming, new IntentFilter("android.provider.Telephony.SMS_RECEIVED")); My goal is to receive SMS message on my custom appWidget. Any help would be appreciated!!

  • Help creating custom iPhone Classes

    - by seanny94
    This should be a simple question, but I just can't seem to figure it out. I'm trying to create my own class which will provide a simpler way of playing short sounds using the AudioToolbox framework as provided by Apple. When I import these files into my project and attempt to utilize them, they just don't seem to work. I was hoping someone would shed some light on what I may be doing wrong here. simplesound.h #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> @interface simplesound : NSObject { IBOutlet UILabel *statusLabel; } @property(nonatomic, retain) UILabel *statusLabel; - (void)playSimple:(NSString *)url; @end simplesound.m #import "simplesound.h" @implementation simplesound @synthesize statusLabel; - (void)playSimple:(NSString *)url { if (url = @"vibrate") { AudioServicesPlaySystemSound(kSystemSoundID_Vibrate); statusLabel.text = @"VIBRATED!"; } else { NSString *paths = [[NSBundle mainBundle] resourcePath]; NSString *audioF1ile = [paths stringByAppendingPathComponent:url]; NSURL *audioURL = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:audioFile isDirectory:NO]; SystemSoundID mySSID; OSStatus error = AudioServicesCreateSystemSoundID ((CFURLRef)audioURL,&mySSID); AudioServicesAddSystemSoundCompletion(mySSID,NULL,NULL,simpleSoundDone,NULL); if (error) { statusLabel.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"Error: %d",error]; } else { AudioServicesPlaySystemSound(mySSID); } } static void simpleSoundDone (SystemSoundID mySSID, void *args) { AudioServicesDisposeSystemSoundID (mySSID); } } - (void)dealloc { [url release]; } @end Does anyone see what I'm trying to accomplish here? Does anyone know how to remedy this code that is supposedly wrong?

  • Parameter based bindings in ninject 2.0

    - by Przemaas
    I want to use conditional binding in ninject, based on passed parameters. I have something like below: public class Subject { } public interface ITarget { } public class Target1 : ITarget { } public class Target2 : ITarget { } And now I need to instantiate ITarget interface: public void MethodName(IKernel kernel) { ITarget target1 = kernel.Get<ITarget>(new Parameter("name", new Subject(), true)); // Should be instance of Target1 ITarget target2 = kernel.Get<ITarget>(); // Should be instance of Target2 } I have problems to define proper bindings. I tried the following: kernel.Bind<ITarget>().To<Target1>().When(Predicate); kernel.Bind<ITarget>().To<Target2>(); private bool Predicate(IRequest request) { IParameter parameter = request.Parameters.Count == 0 ? null : request.Parameters[0]; if (parameter == null) { return false; } object parameterValue = parameter.GetValue( /*what to put here?*/); return parameterValue != null && parameterValue.GetType().IsAssignableFrom(typeof(Subject)); } but I don't know how to get value of passed parameter. I need to pass IContext instance to GetValue method, but don't know how to get valid instance of IContext. Or maybe there is better way to accomplish my task? Regards

  • .NET Remoting Connecting to Wrong Host

    - by Dark Falcon
    I have an application I wrote which has been running well for 4 years. Yesterday they moved all their servers around and installed about 60 pending Windows updates, and now it is broken. The application makes use of remoting to update some information on another server (10.0.5.230), but when I try to create my remote object, I get the following exception: Note that it is trying to connect to 127.0.0.1, not the proper server. The server (10.0.5.230) is listening on port 9091 as it should. This same error is happening on all three terminal servers where this application is installed. Here is the code which registers the remoted object: public static void RegisterClient() { string lServer; RegistryKey lKey = Registry.CurrentUser.OpenSubKey("SOFTWARE\\Shoreline Teleworks\\ShoreWare Client"); if (lKey == null) throw new InvalidOperationException("Could not find Shoretel Call Manager"); object lVal = lKey.GetValue("Server"); if (lVal == null) throw new InvalidOperationException("Shoretel Call Manager did not specify a server name"); lServer = lVal.ToString(); IDictionary props = new Hashtable(); props["port"] = 0; string s = System.Guid.NewGuid().ToString(); props["name"] = s; ChannelServices.RegisterChannel(new TcpClientChannel(props, null), false); RemotingConfiguration.RegisterActivatedClientType(typeof(UpdateClient), "tcp://" + lServer + ":" + S_REMOTING_PORT + "/"); RemotingConfiguration.RegisterActivatedClientType(typeof(Playback), "tcp://" + lServer + ":" + S_REMOTING_PORT + "/"); } Here is the code which calls the remoted object: UpdateClient lUpdater = new UpdateClient(Settings.CurrentSettings.Extension.ToString()); lUpdater.SetAgentState(false); I have verified that the following URI is passed to RegisterActivatedClientType: "tcp://10.0.5.230:9091/" Why does this application try to connect to the wrong server?

  • Memory leak when changing Text field of a Scintilla object.

    - by PlaZmaZ
    I have a relatively large program that I'm optimizing for ASCII input files around 10-80mB in size. The program reads every line of the file into a stringbuilder and then sets the Text field of the ScintillNET object to the stringbuilder. The stringbuilder is then set to null. private void ReloadFile(string sFile) { txt_log.ResetText(); try { StringBuilder sLine = new StringBuilder(""); using (StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(sFile)) { while (true) { string temp = sr.ReadLine(); if (temp == null) break; sLine.AppendLine(temp); } sr.Close(); } txt_log.Text = sLine.ToString(); sLine = null; } catch (Exception ex) { MessageBox.Show(this, "An error occurred opening this file.\n\n" + ex.Message, "File Open Error", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Error); } GC.Collect(); } The program has an option to reload or open a file. This is irrelevant, as any call to txt_log.Text seems to not get rid of the previous memory used for the .Text field. Commenting out the txt_log.Text line gives proper memory behavior. The GC.Collect() line seems pointless, and I have tried both with and without it. Is there something I'm missing here? I HIGHLY doubt it's a problem with the ScintillaNET component itself--rather something in this code.

  • How does this Singleton Web Class persists session data, even though session is not updated in the p

    - by Micah Burnett
    Ok, I've got this singleton-like web class which uses session to maintain state. I initially thought I was going to have to manipulate the session variables on each "set" so that the new values were updated in the session. However I tried using it as-is, and somehow, it remembers state. For example, if run this code on one page: UserContext.Current.User.FirstName = "Micah"; And run this code in a different browser tab, FirstName is displayed correctly: Response.Write(UserContext.Current.User.FirstName); Can someone tell me (prove) how this data is getting persisted in the session? Here is the class: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Web; public class UserContext { private UserContext() { } public static UserContext Current { get { if (System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Session["UserContext"] == null) { UserContext uc = new UserContext(); uc.User = new User(); System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Session["UserContext"] = uc; } return (UserContext)System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Session["UserContext"]; } } private string HospitalField; public string Hospital { get { return HospitalField; } set { HospitalField = value; ContractField = null; ModelType = null; } } private string ContractField; public string Contract { get { return ContractField; } set { ContractField = value; ModelType = string.Empty; } } private string ModelTypeField; public string ModelType { get { return ModelTypeField; } set { ModelTypeField = value; } } private User UserField; public User User { get { return UserField; } set { UserField = value; } } public void DoSomething() { } } public class User { public int UserId { get; set; } public string FirstName { get; set; } }

Then the function waits for input. I would expect it to be always 12foo. Do anybody know why are my expectations wrong?

  • mysql and trigger usage question

    - by dhruvbird
    I have a situation in which I don't want inserts to take place (the transaction should rollback) if a certain condition is met. I could write this logic in the application code, but say for some reason, it has to be written in MySQL itself (say clients written in different languages will be inserting into this MySQL InnoDB table) [that's a separate discussion]. Table definition: CREATE TABLE table1(x int NOT NULL); The trigger looks something like this: CREATE TRIGGER t1 BEFORE INSERT ON table1 FOR EACH ROW IF (condition) THEN NEW.x = NULL; END IF; END; I am guessing it could also be written as(untested): CREATE TRIGGER t1 BEFORE INSERT ON table1 FOR EACH ROW IF (condition) THEN ROLLBACK; END IF; END; But, this doesn't work: CREATE TRIGGER t1 BEFORE INSERT ON table1 ROLLBACK; You are guaranteed that: Your DB will always be MySQL Table type will always be InnoDB That NOT NULL column will always stay the way it is Question: Do you see anything objectionable in the 1st method?

  • copy rows before updating them to preserve archive in Postgres

    - by punkish
    I am experimenting with creating a table that keeps a version of every row. The idea is to be able to query for how the rows were at any point in time even if the query has JOINs. Consider a system where the primary resource is books, that is, books are queried for, and author info comes along for the ride CREATE TABLE authors ( author_id INTEGER NOT NULL, version INTEGER NOT NULL CHECK (version > 0), author_name TEXT, is_active BOOLEAN DEFAULT '1', modified_on TIMESTAMP DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, PRIMARY KEY (author_id, version) ) INSERT INTO authors (author_id, version, author_name) VALUES (1, 1, 'John'), (2, 1, 'Jack'), (3, 1, 'Ernest'); I would like to be able to update the above like so UPDATE authors SET author_name = 'Jack K' WHERE author_id = 1; and end up with 2, 1, Jack, t, 2012-03-29 21:35:00 2, 2, Jack K, t, 2012-03-29 21:37:40 which I can then query with SELECT author_name, modified_on FROM authors WHERE author_id = 2 AND modified_on < '2012-03-29 21:37:00' ORDER BY version DESC LIMIT 1; to get 2, 1, Jack, t, 2012-03-29 21:35:00 Something like the following doesn't really work CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION archive_authors() RETURNS TRIGGER AS $archive_author$ BEGIN IF (TG_OP = 'UPDATE') THEN -- The following fails because author_id,version PK already exists INSERT INTO authors (author_id, version, author_name) VALUES (OLD.author_id, OLD.version, OLD.author_name); UPDATE authors SET version = OLD.version + 1 WHERE author_id = OLD.author_id AND version = OLD.version; RETURN NEW; END IF; RETURN NULL; -- result is ignored since this is an AFTER trigger END; $archive_author$ LANGUAGE plpgsql; CREATE TRIGGER archive_author AFTER UPDATE OR DELETE ON authors FOR EACH ROW EXECUTE PROCEDURE archive_authors(); How can I achieve the above? Or, is there a better way to accomplish this? Ideally, I would prefer to not create a shadow table to store the archived rows.

  • Trying to convert existing production database table columns from enum to VARCHAR (Rails)

    - by dchua
    Hi everyone, I have a problem that needs me to convert my existing live production (I've duplicated the schema on my local development box, don't worry :)) table column types from enums to a string. Background: Basically, a previous developer left my codebase in absolute shit, migration versions are extremely out of date, and apparently he never used it after a certain point of time in development and now that I'm tasked with migrating a rails 1.2.6 app to 2.3.5, I can't get the tests to run properly on 2.3.5 because my table columns have ENUM column types and they convert to :string, :limit = 0 on my schema.rb which creates the problem of an invalid default value when doing a rake db:test:prepare, like in the case of: Mysql::Error: Invalid default value for 'own_vehicle': CREATE TABLE `lifestyles` (`id` int(11) DEFAULT NULL auto_increment PRIMARY KEY, `member_id` int(11) DEFAULT 0 NOT NULL, `own_vehicle` varchar(0) DEFAULT 'Y' NOT NULL, `hobbies` text, `sports` text, `AStar_activities` text, `how_know_IRC` varchar(100), `IRC_referral` varchar(200), `IRC_others` varchar(100), `IRC_rdrive` varchar(30)) ENGINE=InnoDB I'm thinking of writing a migration task that looks through all the database tables for columns with enum and replace it with VARCHAR and I'm wondering if this is the right way to approach this problem. I'm also not very sure how to write it such that it would loop through my database tables and replace all ENUM colum_types with a VARCHAR. I would like to be able to set individual pixel values in the a bitmap context of the same size offscreen then display the bitmap context in a view. It appears that I have to create 1x1 rects and either put a stroke on them or a line of length 1 at the point in question. Is that correct? I'm looking for a very efficient way of getting the array data onto the graphics context as you can imagine this is going to be an image buffer that cycles at 25 frames per second and drawing in this way seems inefficient. I guess the other question is should I use OPENGL ES instead? Thoughts/best practice would be much appreciated. Regards Dave OK, have come a short way, but can't make the final hurdle and I am not sure why this isn't working: - (void) displayContentsOfArray1UsingBitmap: (CGContextRef)context { long bitmapData[WIDTH * HEIGHT]; // Build bitmap int i, j, h; for (i = 0; i < WIDTH; i++) { for (j = 0; j < HEIGHT; j++) { h = frameBuffer01[i][j]; bitmapData[i * j] = h; } } // Blit the bitmap to the context CGDataProviderRef providerRef = CGDataProviderCreateWithData(NULL, bitmapData,4 * WIDTH * HEIGHT, NULL); CGColorSpaceRef colorSpaceRef = CGColorSpaceCreateDeviceRGB(); CGImageRef imageRef = CGImageCreate(WIDTH, HEIGHT, 8, 32, WIDTH * 4, colorSpaceRef, kCGImageAlphaFirst, providerRef, NULL, YES, kCGRenderingIntentDefault); CGContextDrawImage(context, CGRectMake(0.0, HEIGHT, WIDTH, HEIGHT), imageRef); CGImageRelease(imageRef); CGColorSpaceRelease(colorSpaceRef); CGDataProviderRelease(providerRef); }

  • Name for method that takes a string value and returns DBNull.Value || string

    - by David Murdoch
    I got tired of writing the following code: /* Commenting out irrelevant parts public string MiddleName; public void Save(){ SqlCommand = new SqlCommand(); // blah blah...boring INSERT statement with params etc go here. */ if(MiddleName==null){ myCmd.Parameters.Add("@MiddleName", DBNull.Value); } else{ myCmd.Parameters.Add("@MiddleName", MiddleName); } /* // more boring code to save to DB. }*/ So, I wrote this: public static object DBNullValueorStringIfNotNull(string value) { object o; if (value == null) { o = DBNull.Value; } else { o = value; } return o; } // which would be called like: myCmd.Parameters.Add("@MiddleName", DBNullValueorStringIfNotNull(MiddleName)); If this is a good way to go about doing this then what would you suggest as the method name? DBNullValueorStringIfNotNull is a bit verbose and confusing. I'm also open to ways to alleviate this problem entirely. I'd LOVE to do this: myCmd.Parameters.Add("@MiddleName", MiddleName==null ? DBNull.Value : MiddleName); but that won't work. I've got C# 3.5 and SQL Server 2005 at my disposal if it matters.

  • Synchronizing Access to a member of the ASP.NET session

    - by Sam
    I'm building a Javascript application and eash user has an individual UserSession. The application makes a bunch of Ajax calls. Each Ajax call needs access to a single UserSession object for the user. Each Ajax call needs a UserSession object. Data in the UserSession object is unique to each user. Originally, during each Ajax call I would create a new UserSession object and it's data members were stored in the ASP.NET Session. However, I found that the UserSession object was being instantiated a lot. To minimize the construction of the UserSession object, I wrapped it in a Singleton pattern and sychronized access to it. I believe that the synchronization is happening application wide, however I only need it to happen per user. I saw a post here that says the ASP.NET cache is synchronized, however the time between creating the object and inserting it into the cache another Thread could start construction it's another object and insert it into the cache. Here is the way I'm currently synchronizing access to the object. Is there a better way than using "lock"... should be be locking on the HttpContext.Session object? private static object SessionLock = new object(); public static WebSession GetSession { get { lock (SessionLock) { try { var context = HttpContext.Current; WebSession result = null; if (context.Session["MySession"] == null) { result = new WebSession(context); context.Session["MySession"] = result; } else { result = (WebSession)context.Session["MySession"]; } return result; } catch (Exception ex) { ex.Handle(); return null; } } } }

  • Accessing running task scheduled with java.util.Timer

    - by jbatista
    I'm working on a Java project where I have created a class that looks like this (abridged version): public class Daemon { private static Timer[] timerarray=null; private static Daemon instance=null; protected Daemon() { ArrayList<Timer> timers = new ArrayList<Timer>(); Timer t = new Timer("My application"); t.schedule(new Worker(), 10000,30000); timers.add(t); //... timerarray = timers.toArray(new Timer[]{}); } public static Daemon getInstance() { if(instance==null) instance=new Daemon(); return instance; } public SomeClass getSomeValueFromWorker() { return theValue; } ///////////////////////////////////////////// private class Worker extends TimerTask { public Worker() {} public void run() { // do some work } public SomeReturnClass someMethod(SomeType someParameter) { // return something; } } ///////////////////////////////////////////// } I start this class, e.g. by invoking daemon.getInstance();. However, I'd like to have some way to access the running task objects' methods (for example, for monitoring the objects' state). The Java class java.util.Timer does not seem to provide the means to access the running object, it just schedules the object instance extending TimerTask. Are there ways to access the "running" object instanciated within a Timer? Do I have to subclass the Timer class with the appropriate methods to somehow access the instance (this "feels" strange, somehow)? I suppose someone might have done this before ... where can I find examples of this "procedure"? Thank you in advance for your feedback.

  • Cannot exit in CodeIgniter constructor

    - by gzg
    I'm basically trying a session control. If the user is logged in, it's ok to move on. But if he's not logged in, then it will show a log-in screen and then die. However, when I use die or exit in the constructor, it does not show the log-in screen; it immediately dies. The code is as following: private $username = null; private $mongoid = null; private $neoid = null; public function __construct(){ parent::__construct(); // session to global $this->username = $this->session->userdata( 'username'); $this->mongoid = $this->session->userdata( 'mongoid'); $this->neoid = $this->session->userdata( 'neoid'); // check if user is logged in if( $this->username == "" || empty( $this->username)){ $this->load->view( 'access/login'); die; } } It shows the log-in page if die is not written there, but with die, it does not show. Why do I want to use die? Because if I don't use, it moves on the index function and I don't want it to execute index function if the user is not logged in. What is wrong here? What should I use to stop executing?

  • Delete throws "deleted object would be re-saved by cascade"

    - by Greg
    I have following model: <class name="Person" table="Person" optimistic-lock="version"> <id name="Id" type="Int32" unsaved-value="0"> <generator class="native" /> </id> <!-- plus some properties here --> </class> <class name="Event" table="Event" optimistic-lock="version"> <id name="Id" type="Int32" unsaved-value="0"> <generator class="native" /> </id> <!-- plus some properties here --> </class> <class name="PersonEventRegistration" table="PersonEventRegistration" optimistic-lock="version"> <id name="Id" type="Int32" unsaved-value="0"> <generator class="native" /> </id> <property name="IsComplete" type="Boolean" not-null="true" /> <property name="RegistrationDate" type="DateTime" not-null="true" /> <many-to-one name="Person" class="Person" column="PersonId" foreign-key="FK_PersonEvent_PersonId" cascade="all-delete-orphan" /> <many-to-one name="Event" class="Event" column="EventId" foreign-key="FK_PersonEvent_EventId" cascade="all-delete-orphan" /> </class> There are no properties pointing to PersonEventRegistration either in Person nor in Event. When I try to delete an entry from PersonEventRegistration, I get the following error: "deleted object would be re-saved by cascade" The problem is, I don't store this object in any other collection - the delete code looks like this: public bool UnregisterFromEvent(Person person, Event entry) { var registrationEntry = this.session .CreateCriteria<PersonEventRegistration>() .Add(Restrictions.Eq("Person", person)) .Add(Restrictions.Eq("Event", entry)) .Add(Restrictions.Eq("IsComplete", false)) .UniqueResult<PersonEventRegistration>(); bool result = false; if (null != registrationEntry) { using (ITransaction tx = this.session.BeginTransaction()) { this.session.Delete(registrationEntry); tx.Commit(); result = true; } } return result; } What am I doing wrong here?

  • Android map performance with > 800 overlays of KML data

    - by span
    I have some a shape file which I have converted to a KML file that I wish to read coordinates from and then draw paths between the coordinates on a MapView. With the help of this great post: How to draw a path on a map using kml file? I have been able to read the the KML into an ArrayList of "Placemarks". This great blog post then showed how to take a list of GeoPoints and draw a path: http://djsolid.net/blog/android---draw-a-path-array-of-points-in-mapview The example in the above post only draws one path between some points however and since I have many more paths than that I am running into some performance problems. I'm currently adding a new RouteOverlay for each of the separate paths. This results in me having over 800 overlays when they have all been added. This has a performance hit and I would love some input on what I can do to improve it. Here are some options I have considered: Try to add all the points to a List which then can be passed into a class that will extend Overlay. In that new class perhaps it would be possible to add and draw the paths in a single Overlay layer? I'm not sure on how to implement this though since the paths are not always intersecting and they have different start and end points. At the moment I'm adding each path which has several points to it's own list and then I add that to an Overlay. That results in over 700 overlays... Simplify the KML or SHP. Instead of having over 700 different paths, perhaps there is someway to merge them into perhaps 100 paths or less? Since alot of paths are intersected at some point it should be possible to modify the original SHP file so that it merges all intersections. Since I have never worked with these kinds of files before I have not been able to find a way to do this in GQIS. If someone knows how to do this I would love for some input on that. Here is a link to the group of shape files if you are interested: http://danielkvist.net/cprg_bef_cbana_polyline.shp http://danielkvist.net/cprg_bef_cbana_polyline.shx http://danielkvist.net/cprg_bef_cbana_polyline.dbf http://danielkvist.net/cprg_bef_cbana_polyline.prj Anyway, here is the code I'm using to add the Overlays. • Adding a div element inside a panel?

    - by Bar Mako
    I'm working with GWT and I'm trying to add google-maps to my website. Since I want to use google-maps V3 I'm using JSNI. In order to display the map in my website I need to create a div element with id="map" and get it in the initialization function of the map. I did so, and it worked out fine but its location on the webpage is funny and I want it to be attached to a panel I'm creating in my code. So my question is how can I do it? Can I create a div somehow with GWT inside a panel ? I've tried to do create a new HTMLPanel like this: runsPanel.add(new HTMLPanel("<div id=\"map\"></div>")); Where runsPanel is a the panel I want to to be attached to. Yet, it fails to retrive the div when I use the following initialization function: private native JavaScriptObject initializeMap() /*-{ var latLng = new $wnd.google.maps.LatLng(31.974, 34.813); //around Rishon-LeTsiyon var mapOptions = { zoom : 14, center : latLng, mapTypeId : $wnd.google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP }; var mapDiv = $doc.getElementById('map'); if (mapDiv == null) { alert("MapDiv is null!"); } var map = new $wnd.google.maps.Map(mapDiv, mapOptions); return map; }-*/; (It pops the alert - "MapDiv is null!") Any ideas? Thanks
