Is it just me, or does VS 2008 not allow setting a breakpoint just on the setter of an auto-property?
It looks something like this:
public int CurrentFramesize
{
get;
protected set;
}
and if I try to set a breakpoint on the setter line, the whole auto-property turns breakpoint-red.
I've got VS 2008 Shell Integrated mode; I've got F# 2.0 on that installation. Till now this has worked fine for me because I've been hacking at F# code. Now though, I want to install Intellifactory's WebSharper. It looks like the Intellifactory templates assume that C# templates will be available because while it will create the F# portion of the solution it will not create the Web project in the solution with the complaint
A problem was encountered creating
the sub project 'Web Application'.
The template specified cannot be
found.
Is there any place where I can get the C# stuff to add to this instance of VS 2008 Shell? Apologies in advance if this is a dup question but I've googled without much luck and I don't seem to find this here either.
I've seen that about devenv /installvstemplates but that also fails with a message about needing to elevate privileges (which is odd since I try it under an admin user).
I'm attempting to use the Ctrl+R, Ctrl+R command within Visual Studio 2008 to rename a variable. I get an error message at the bottom saying that
"The key combination (Ctrl+R, Ctrl+R) is bound to command (&Rename...) which is not currently available."
I am not running it or anything I can think of which might prohibit modifications of the file and the F2 command allows a rename to happen. Anyone know how to fix this?
I think I encountered something extraordinary strange in VS 2008.
All the array values are 0x00, but why it is displayed 0x00000008 at the start of the variable?
I have searched the internet thoroughly for this type of issue, there were responses but hasn't really found a concrete solution yet.
I have an application which makes use of SQL Server 2008 R2 and thus it makes connections with a database file which I have set up. The application executes successfully, makes connections with the database and retrieves/inserts/updates data to and fro the database.
However when I come to create a deployment project i.e. a setup project, I fail to transfer my database files to other computers and make database connections. I have checked the SQL Server 2008 prerequisite in the publish settings of the application and has also included the database files.
Can anyone suggest the best way to this type of setup?
Thanks
Hi All,
Is there any way to find ILDASm.exe from VS 2008? I know the location "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\Bin"....but i want it through vs08.

I've been doing a lot of editing in MS Dynamics CRM 4.0 using the web designer. I'm wondering if there is a more efficient way to edit workflows and wondering if VS 2008 could be used (and if it is more efficient). If so how?
Thanks!
I've been getting an error recently while debugging an ASP.NET application in Visual Studio 2008:
'Error connecting to undo manager of source file XYZ'
Any idea how I can get rid of the error?
Is there a Registry setting that I can look for to determine whether or not the Visual C++ redistributable is installed, whether standalone or as part of Visual Studio 2008? I know that I could launch the VC++ 2008 redistributable installer and let it handle the detection, but it would look cleaner if I can check for it and not bother launching the installer if the redistributable is already on the system.
It's no biggie if there is no setting to search for, as this is just for the preliminary installers that we have for the new version of our software. We won't need it for the new Windows Installer-based installers that we are working on that will replace the old tech ones and will use the merge modules.
I installed infragistics trail version. While each time running the application through Visual Studio 2008, i getting the message box like "this is a trail version".

halo,
After making the set up of the application(developed using VS 2008 and MS Access) the installation another system works fine. But whenever I try to change the Password or id it shows an error sayin "operation must use an updateable query"
Thank you,
Indranil
I cannot get rid of this in my VS 2008 web project when debugging. I've checked that it's in debug mode on the non-web project in question and it's in Active(Debug). Deleted all items in my .NET 2.0 temp folder in Windows. Not sure what else to do here.
I have a main server with windows server 2008 with active directory installed. Additionally, I have created the hyper-v virtual server with MOSS 2007 installed with dynamic ip address. I can access the sharepoint site as an intranet.
How can I assign the access of all the active directory users and their profile to MOSS without adding them up manually ?
If I am missing any information to provide please mention.
Hello everyone,
I am using SQL Server 2008 Enterprise. I met with issue which says line 9 of store procedure foo is meeting with dead lock issue. My question is how to find exactly the 9th line of the store procedure?
My confusion is because of coding format issue, how to locate 9th line correctly.

I need to get the path (not the executable) where my application is running from:
System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory()
When I run the above statement with & "/images/image.jpg" on my local machine it works fine but when I install the application on another machine it says it cannot find the file and there is a lot of extra path information some.
I just need the directory of where the app is running. I am coding in VB.NET with Visual Studio 2008.
Thanks!

Hi,
I have to extract columns from a text file explained in this post:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2499746/extracting-columns-from-text-file-using-perl-similar-to-unix-cut
but I have to do this also in a Windows Server 2008 which does not have Perl installed. How could I do this using PowerShell? Any ideas or resources? I'm PowerShell noob...
I have the following table...
TABLE: Accounts
ID (int, PK, Identity)
AccountType (int, PK)
Username (varchar)
Password (varchar)
I have created a composite key out of ID and AccountType columns so that people can have the same username/password but different AccountTypes.
Does this mean that for each foreign table that I try and link to I'll have to create two columns?

I am building a web site similar to Craigslist. I would like to know how to store the html formatted text (bold / italics / font size etc) in a sql 2008 database?
In order words, the user would enter their text, format it with font size, bold etc and save the information. Whats the most efficient way to store that in a database?
Hi,
sometimes after logging out and in again, my settings in Tools/Options/Projects and Solutions/VC++ Directories are lost.
To investigate the problem I tried to find the file where Visual Studio (2008 Team) stores those settings on disk. (Or is it in the registry?) Can anybody point me to where it is?
Thanks a lot!
