• Portable shebang line

  #!/usr/bin/perl This is the shebang line to a lot of scripts I'm writing lately. Hard coding the path of the binary seems like it could create some problems. For instance, if one of my users has Perl installed at /something_else/bin then they'd have to change all the shebangs. I've seen some tools that will automatically replace the shebangs, but I'm wondering if there is something simpler.

• How to provide an own UIWindow subclass as the main window in an iPhone app?

  For inspecting all events posted to the views of the window, I want to make a subclass of UIWindow and make that -keyAndVisible in the app delegate. However, my project already came with an nasty MainWindow.xib file ;-) so I find it hard to do that now, since that nib guy is creating the window. Is there any way I can get rid of this MainWindow.xib? Or is there another way to have an subclass of UIWindow in place?

  Hello, I am recompling a project using Borland C++ Builder 6 and LMD tool 2010. The recompile process failed due to linker error. The message was: "[Linker Fatal error] Fatal unable to open file LMDOneInstance.OBJ" I searched the whole hard drive, but could not find any reference to LMDOneInstance.OBJ Any help is appreciated.   As I started using WPF at higher DPI resolutions, I got into troubles with scaling of toolbar images. XAML images solve that problem. However I find it very hard to find free toolbar/ribbon XAML images that you can use in your own projects. What I found is usually not free and one probably needs more than few collections to get all needed images. Where do you find your toolbar/ribbon .xaml images?

  I have a set of names (first, last, salutation) and need a control to allow users to select a single name using WinForms. A ComboBox works fine if the there are ~20 names, but not so well when there are 100 names. Can anyone recommend a name picker? Perhaps an address book control that I could customize? To me it looks like the C# compiler has done the hard work for you as it internally implements a state machine to make the yield statement work. Can you piggy-back on top of the work the compiler is already doing and get it to implement most of the state machine for you? Has anyone done this, is it technically possible?

• How do I enable msysgit colored output when using console2

  I'm having a hard time enabling git colored output on windows when using console2. To trick git I've already SET TERM = 'cygwin'. This enabled the colors from a standard cmd.exe prompt but not in console2. I've verified that console2 can see the env var as well. Anyone know how to get this working?

• 'on the web' drupal module showing images on localhost but not remote host

  Hi, the simple little module titled 'on the web' for drupal shows social network links. It links to some images on the directory. on my localhost install they are showing but in the remote install the img tags aren't even appearing. • Any way to change Phppgadmin view order of columns without changing underlying db

  Hey everyone, Is there any way to change the order of the columns phppgadmin views when browsing tables without having to change the underlying db? I have a few columns that I want seperated by heaps of unimportant ones and then a few more important ones at the end. • QTableWidget: How can I get tighter lines with less vertical spacing padding?

  The QTableWdiget is fabulous for simple grid displays. Changing colors, fonts, etc is straightforward. However, I did not manage to give the grid a 'tighter' look with less vertical whitespace. I see that the Qt documentation talks (eg here) about margin border padding around widgets, but when I set these I only get changes around the entire grid widget rather than inside. How can I set this (with a style sheet, or hard-coded options) directly to make the QTableWidget display tighter?
