    The goal: create an extension method that will make it easy to create FormCollection objects. The method is a helper for unit testing ASP.NET MVC code. public static FormCollection ToFormCollection(this object data) { var namesAndValues = data.GetType() .GetProperties() .WhereValueIsNotDefaultValue(data) .ToNameValueCollection(data); return new FormCollection(namesAndValues); } The extension method itself relies on a couple private extension...Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? • iPhone - Drawing 2D with OpenGL ES, fast and simple.

    - by Johannes Jensen
    I'm going to make a game for the iPhone, and I'm mostly going to be using images. I've read that using Quartz only is slow for actual games with high frame rates, so I was wondering if you guys had any good ideas for using OpenGL for rendering a game scene? I'm going to be using a lot of images, and I want to be able to freely rotate them. I've looked at Apple's examples GLSprite and GLPaint, but I don't really see anything I could use. All I want to do is be able to render images at specific positions, and want to be able to rotate them. I'm a noob at OpenGL, but I know Quartz.

  • Deleting an element from an array in perl

    - by Flamewires
    Hey I'm wondering how i can get this code to work, basically i want to keep the lines of $filename as long as they contain the $user in the path. Sry, perl noob. open STDERR, ">/dev/null"; $filename=`find -H /home | grep $file`; @filenames = split(/\n/, $filename); for $i (@filenames) { if ($i =~ m/$user/) { #keep results } else { delete $i; # does not work. } } $filename = join ("\n", @filenames); close STDERR; I know you can delete like delete $array[index] but I don't have an index with this kind of loop that I know of.

  • Easy QueryBuilder - A User-Friendly Ad-Hoc Advanced Search Solution

    Constructing an easy and powerful QueryBuilder interface becomes more important for complex data grid filtering and accurate reporting services. In this article, I'll discuss how to build a query search engine using ASP.NET AJAX and dynamic SQL. The main goal is to provide an interactive interface to allow users select query attributes, operators, attribute values, and T-SQL operators so that the data context query list can be easily composed and a search engine is invoked.Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? • Templates and Cross-domain client-side binding with RadGrid for ASP.NET AJAX

    Or yet another Twitter grid Yesterday, while I was playing around with this example of our MVC Grid, I thought that the RadGrid for ASP.NET AJAX deserves one too. What I like about this sample scenario is that it gives a perfect opportunity to demonstrate both how to do client cross-site request (as we have received a few questions through our support channels) and to check the future ASP.NET AJAX/jQuery client-side templates prototype.     A wiser guy once said a code sample is worth more than a 1000 words ;) That is why Ill keep it short and let you check the sample project.   Enjoy.Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? • Back to the future! New version of the VB6 InteropForms toolkit is released!!

    Along with all the new goodies that we released yesterday as part of Visual Studio 2010, one additional thing we did yesterday as well is release an update to the popular interopforms toolkit.   This update brings VS 2010 (and VS 2008!) support to the toolkit and fixes a smattering of reported bugs.    As many of you are aware, VB6 applications are alive and well in the community and this toolkit has proven to be quite successful in helping developers evolve these apps with...Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? • c++ function overloading, making fwrite/fread act like PHP versions

    - by Newbie
    I'm used to the PHP fwrite/fread parameter orders, and i want to make them the same in C++ too. I want it to work with char and string types, and also any data type i put in it (only if length is defined). I am total noob on c++, this is what i made so far: size_t fwrite(FILE *fp, const std::string buf, const size_t len = SIZE_MAX){ if(len == SIZE_MAX){ return fwrite(buf.c_str(), 1, buf.length(), fp); }else{ return fwrite(buf.c_str(), 1, len, fp); } } size_t fwrite(FILE *fp, const void *buf, const size_t len = SIZE_MAX){ if(len == SIZE_MAX){ return fwrite((const char *)buf, 1, strlen((const char *)buf), fp); }else{ return fwrite(buf, 1, len, fp); } } Should this work just fine? And how should this be done if i wanted to do it the absolutely best possible way?

  • SQL SERVER Get Latest SQL Query for Sessions DMV

  • Prevent auto scrolling when clicking tab anchor

    - by JohnCrossy
    On my page I have some tabs that I've added some javascript so when they're clicked the page loads the tab's anchor URL instead of simply changing the view with AJAX, but I now want to stop the browser from auto scrolling to the anchor location. Having done some research, I'm pretty sure I just need to add a couple of lines so that when clicked it returns false or prevents default but, being a noob, I've no idea where to put them!?! I know it's cheeky, but if any answers could include the full script (ie. the below) with the solution, that way I'll understand better and hopefully learn some valuable lessons also :) Here's the code I'm using: jQuery( function() { jQuery('.ui-tabs').bind( 'tabsselect', function( e, ui ) { window.location.hash = ui.tab.hash }); });

  • Ubuntu One doesn't show captcha in windows 7

    - by Fredrik Hansson
    I try to set up a new U1 account in W7. However, the sign on screen reports "There was a problem getting the captcha, reloading" - but nothing seems to happen. I tried it on two different computers (in the same home network). Same result. Anything to do or is U1 for W7 corrupt? Also experiencing this problem. Trying to install latest U1 on brand new Toshiba Win7 laptops at work and the captcha field is simply blank, there is nothing to copy. Tried refresh, restart, reload and different browsers (Firefox 13, IE9) and nothing improved the situtation. Without being able to see the captcha I cannot do anything at all and will have to use silverlight if I can't overcome this.

    There seems to be some backlash building up against NoSQL with posts like Ted Dziuba I Can't Wait for NoSQL to Die or Dennis Forbes The Impact of SSDs on Database Performance and the Performance Paradox of Data Explodification (aka Fighting the NoSQL mindset). These are interesting articles to read and yes RDBMSs are not going the way of the dodo yet (I even said that in The RDBMS is dead, which by the way, was written before NoSQL was coined, but I digress ).
