  I'm trying to resolve this URL Route: Route articlesByCategory = new Route("articles/c{cid}-{category}", new Handler); However, it seems like the following url won't resolve to this route: // doesn't work www.site.com/articles/c24-this-is-the-category-title // This works www.site.com/articles/c24-category I assume it has to do with the dashes in the title, but can anyone tell me why this works this way? Is there a way to allow dashes in the title for a URL route like this?

• Why would I want to use server-side JavaScript?

  I'm confused, I regularly read talk of server-side JS, why would I want to use that? It seems like it would execute way slower than pretty much any other language, it also lacks many conventions that more sophisticated languages have. Is it possible to hand entire objects from the client to the server, manipulate them and return them back? Just struggling to understand the concepts of it.

  From what I have researched it is not possible to change the Timezone of a thread. So my question is why can't you? I would have thought switching your application's culture to a specific country would also switch this, seems like expected behaviour IMO.

• Google Maps: marker icons are multi-drawing over same location, why?

  I'm using Google Maps and have the map set to height/width=100%. I noticed that when I resize the browser window, my map marker icons appear to redraw on top of the same location. Meaning, if I should only have 1 map marker icon on "987 Main St", when I resize the browser window - multiple map marker icons are being now draw on top of "987 Main St" that shouldn't be there. Any ideas why this is happening and how to prevent it? UPDATE: Link to actual code

  I execute the following command line for ffmpeg.exe -i C:\Beema\video-source\DO_U_BEEMA176x144short.avi -i C:\Beema\video-source\DO_U_BEEMA176x144short.avi -i C:\Beema\temp\9016730-51056331-stitcheds.avi -i C:\Beema\video-source\GOTTA_BEEMA176x144short.avi -y -ac 1 -r 24 -b 25K C:\Beema\video-out\9a062fb6-d448-48fe-b006-a85d51adf8a1.mpg The output file in video-out ends up having a single copy of DO_U_BEEMA. I do not understand why ffmpeg is not concatenating. Any help is dramatically appreciated,

  Suppose I have a source file that is 18218 bytes. I open the file in emacs, then do: M-x end-of-buffer M-x what-cursor-position Why does the cursor position return 17612 bytes? I think it's because of CRLF translation, or collapsing CRLF into one character. How can I get emacs to report the accurate, untranslated character position?

  I have been pondering why it is recommended that we should not release managed resources inside finalize. If you see the code example at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.gc.suppressfinalize.aspx , and search for string "Dispose(bool disposing) executes in two distinct scenarios" and read that comment, you will understand what I mean. Only possibility I can think of is that it probably has something to do with the fact that it is not possible to predict when finalizer will get called.   Could someone enlighten me as to why including www in a ajax request causes it to fail. i.e. This works: $('#mydiv').load('http://mydomain.com/getitems'); But this doesn't (returns nothing) $('#mydiv').load('http://www.mydomain.com/getitems'); Note that www.mydomain.com/getitems is a valid domain, in the sense that if I point my web browser to it I am able to load the page.
