  • Javascript newbie, how to choose between window.URL.createObjectURL() and window.webkitURL.createObjectURL() based on browser

    From the firefox developer website I know that firefox use objectURL = window.URL.createObjectURL(file); to get url of file type, but in chrome and other webkit browsers we have window.webkitURL.createObjectURL() for detecting url. I don't know how to swap this functions based on browser engines, and I need it to be worked on both browsers (Chrome and firefox) https://developer.mozilla.org/en/DOM/window.URL.createObjectURL

  • Howcan I get started with Spring Batch?

    I'm trying to learn Spring Batch, but the startup guide is very confusing. Comments like You can get a pretty good idea about how to set up a job by examining the unit tests in the org.springframework.batch.sample package (in src/main/java) and the configuration in src/main/resources/jobs. aren't exactly helpful. Also I find the Sample project very complicated (17 non-empty Namespaces with 109 classes)! Is there a simpler place to get started with Spring Batch?

The urls are dynamic and contain 2-3 values for each result (www.example.com or example.org).     When trying to parse incorrect XML with a character reference such as &#x1, Java's SAX Parser dies a horrible death with a fatal error such as org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Character reference "&#x1" is an invalid XML character. Is there any way around this? Will I have to clean up the XML file before I hand it off to the SAX Parser? If so, is there an elegant way of going about this?

  • Java heap keeps on shrinking! What is happening in this graph of heap size?

    Hi Guys, This is a screen shot of a JVM (win64, 6u17) running ActiveMQ, after every garbage collection the heap size is reducing. As the heap size reduces garbage collection gets more frequent and the heap reduces more quickly. Eventually the VM locks up as it's spending all it's time in GC. -Xms is the default and -Xmx is 2048mb. What is happening!!?     I have some Java code that connects to an Oracle database using DriverManager.getConnection(). It works just fine on my Windows XP machine.
