  • List of objects to JSON to Html Table?

    - by DaveDev
    If I have a list of objects IEnumerable<MyType> myTypes; Is it possible for me to return this to the client as JSON return Json(myTypes); and if so, is it possible for me to convert this (now JSON format) list to a when it gets to the client? Is there any jQuery plugin to do this? The thing is, there's loads of other stuff I need to send as JSON also, so generating a table with a PartialView and embedding that into the JSON is a extra complexity that I'd like to avoid. Thanks.

  • Serializing Complex ViewModel with Json.Net Destabilization Error on Latest Version

    - by dreadlocks1221
    I just added the latest Version of JSON.Net and I get the System.Security.VerificationException: Operation could destabilize the runtime error when trying to use a controller (while running the application). I read in other posts that this issue should have been fixed in release 6 but I still have the problem. I even added *Newtonsoft.* to the ignore modules in the intellitrace options, which seems to have suppressed the error, but the post will just run forever and not return anything. Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated. [HttpPost] public string GetComments(int ShowID, int Page) { int PageSize = 10; UserRepository UserRepo = new UserRepository(); ShowCommentViewModel viewModel = new ShowCommentViewModel(); IQueryable<Comment> CommentQuery = showRepository.GetShowComments(ShowID); var paginatedComments = new PaginatedList<Comment>(CommentQuery, Page, PageSize); viewModel.Comments = new List<CommentViewModel>(); foreach (Comment comment in CommentQuery.Take(10).ToList()) { CommentViewModel CommentModel = new CommentViewModel { Comment = comment, PostedBy = UserRepo.GetUserProfile(comment.UserID) }; IQueryable<Comment> ReplyQuery = showRepository.GetShowCommentReplies(comment.CommentID); int ReplyPage = 0; var paginatedReplies = new PaginatedList<Comment>(ReplyQuery, ReplyPage, 3); CommentModel.Replies = new List<ReplyModel>(); foreach (Comment reply in ReplyQuery.Take(3).ToList()) { ReplyModel rModel = new ReplyModel { Reply = reply, PostedBy = UserRepo.GetUserProfile(reply.UserID) }; CommentModel.Replies.Add(rModel); } CommentModel.RepliesNextPage = paginatedReplies.HasNextPage; CommentModel.RepliesPeviousPage = paginatedReplies.HasPreviousPage; CommentModel.RepliesTotalPages = paginatedReplies.TotalPages; CommentModel.RepliesPageIndex = paginatedReplies.PageIndex; CommentModel.RepliesTotalCount = paginatedReplies.TotalCount; viewModel.Comments.Add(CommentModel); } viewModel.CommentsNextPage = paginatedComments.HasNextPage; viewModel.CommentsPeviousPage = paginatedComments.HasPreviousPage; viewModel.CommentsTotalPages = paginatedComments.TotalPages; viewModel.CommentsPageIndex = paginatedComments.PageIndex; viewModel.CommentsTotalCount = paginatedComments.TotalCount; return JsonConvert.SerializeObject(viewModel, Formatting.Indented); }

  • "Authorize" attribute and 403 error page

    - by zerkms
    [Authorize] property is nice and handy MS invention, and I hope it can solve the issues I have now To be more specific: When current client isn't authenticated - [Authorize] redirects from secured action to logon page and after logon was successfull - brings user back, this is good. But when current cilent already authenticated but not authorized to run specific action - all I need is to just display my general 403 page. Is it possible without moving authorization logic within controller's body? UPD: The behavior I need in should be semantically equals to this sketch: public ActionResult DoWork() { if (!NotAuthorized()) { return RedirectToAction("403"); } return View(); } so - there should no any redirect and url should be stay the same, but contents of the page should be replaced with 403-page

  • How to forward a 'saved' request stream to another Action within the same controller?

    - by Moe Howard
    We have a need to chunk-up large http requests sent by our mobile devices. These smaller chunk streams are merged to a file on the server. Once all chunks are received we need a way to submit the saved merged request to an another method(Action) within the same controller that will process this large http request. How can this be done? The code we tried below results in the service hanging. Is there a way to do this without a round-trip? //Open merged chunked file FileStream fileStream = new FileStream(fileName, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read); //Read steam support variables int bytesRead = 0; byte[] buffer = new byte[1024]; //Build New Web Request. The target Action is called "Upload", this method we are in is called "UploadChunk" HttpWebRequest webRequest; webRequest = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(Request.Url.ToString().Replace("Chunk", string.Empty)); webRequest.Method = "POST"; webRequest.ContentType = "text/xml"; webRequest.KeepAlive = true; webRequest.Timeout = 600000; webRequest.ReadWriteTimeout = 600000; webRequest.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials; Stream webStream = webRequest.GetRequestStream(); //Hangs here, no errors, just hangs I have looked into using RedirectToAction and RedirecctToRoute but these methods don't fit well with what we are looking to do as we cannot edit the Request.InputStream (as it is read-only) to carry out large request stream. Thanks, Moe

  • Sharing the model in MVP Winforms App

    - by Keith G
    I'm working on building up an MVP application (C# Winforms). My initial version is at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1422343/ ... Now I'm increasing the complexity. I've broken out the code to handle two separate text fields into two view/presenter pairs. It's a trivial example, but it's to work out the details of multiple presenters sharing the same model. My questions are about the model: I am basically using a property changed event raised by the model for notifying views that something has changed. Is that a good approach? What if it gets to the point where I have 100 or 1000 properties? Is it still practical at that point? Is instantiating the model in each presenter with   NoteModel _model = NoteModel.Instance   the correct approach? Note that I do want to make sure all of the presenters are sharing the same data. If there is a better approach, I'm open to suggestions .... My code looks like this: NoteModel.cs public class NoteModel : INotifyPropertyChanged { private static NoteModel _instance = null; public static NoteModel Instance { get { return _instance; } } static NoteModel() { _instance = new NoteModel(); } private NoteModel() { Initialize(); } public string Filename { get; set; } public bool IsDirty { get; set; } public readonly string DefaultName = "Untitled.txt"; string _sText; public string TheText { get { return _sText; } set { _sText = value; PropertyHasChanged("TheText"); } } string _sMoreText; public string MoreText { get { return _sMoreText; } set { _sMoreText = value; PropertyHasChanged("MoreText"); } } public void Initialize() { Filename = DefaultName; TheText = String.Empty; MoreText = String.Empty; IsDirty = false; } private void PropertyHasChanged(string sPropName) { IsDirty = true; if (PropertyChanged != null) { PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(sPropName)); } } public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged; } TextEditorPresenter.cs public class TextEditorPresenter { ITextEditorView _view; NoteModel _model = NoteModel.Instance; public TextEditorPresenter(ITextEditorView view)//, NoteModel model) { //_model = model; _view = view; _model.PropertyChanged += new PropertyChangedEventHandler(model_PropertyChanged); } void model_PropertyChanged(object sender, PropertyChangedEventArgs e) { if (e.PropertyName == "TheText") _view.TheText = _model.TheText; } public void TextModified() { _model.TheText = _view.TheText; } public void ClearView() { _view.TheText = String.Empty; } } TextEditor2Presenter.cs is essentially the same except it operates on _model.MoreText instead of _model.TheText. ITextEditorView.cs public interface ITextEditorView { string TheText { get; set; } } ITextEditor2View.cs public interface ITextEditor2View { string MoreText { get; set; } }

  • Why is my asp:Substitution control suddenly not working in ASP.NET 4.0?

    - by Steve Wortham
    I just upgraded my site from ASP.NET 3.5 to 4.0. I've been working through some breaking changes and there were more than I expected. One I can't figure out, however, is why my <asp:Substitution /> control suddenly stopped working like it should. It's supposed to ignore the output cache settings of the parent page and update upon every request. For some reason that isn't happening. It's caching for the full 10 minutes (the OutputCache setting for my home page). Any ideas?

  • ajax error when calling from javascript

    - by vikitor
    Hi, I' still newby to this so I'll try to explain what I'm doing. Basically what I want is to load a dropdownlist depending on the value of a previous one, and I want it to load the data and appear when the other one is changed. This is the code I've written in my controller: public ActionResult GetClassesSearch(bool ajax, string phylumID, string kingdom){ IList<TaxClass> lists = null; int _phylumID = int.Parse(phylumID); int _kingdom = int.Parse(kingdom); lists = _taxon.getClassByPhylumSearch(_phylumID, _kingdom); return Json(lists); } and this is how I call the method from the javascript function: function loadClasses(_phylum) { var phylum = _phylum.value; $.getJSON("/Suspension/GetClassesSearch", { ajax: true, classID: phylum, kingdom: kingdom }, }, function(data) { $('#sClass').attr("disabled", true); $('#sClass').selectOptions("-2"); $('#sClass').removeOption(/./); var values = ''; $('#sClass').addOption("-2", "-Select All-"); for (i = 0; i < data.length; i++) { $('#sClass').addOption(data[i].RecId, data[i].TaxonName); } $('#sClass').selectOptions("-2"); $('#sClass').removeAttr("disabled"); }); } I can't get it to work. Any tips? Thanks in advance

  • Populate Multiple PDFs

    - by gmcalab
    I am using itextsharp to populate my PDFs. I have no issues with this. Basically what I am doing is getting the PDF and populating the fields in memory then passing back the MemoryStream to be displayed on a webpage. All this is working with a single document PDF. What I am trying to figure out now, is merging multiple PDFs into one MemoryStream. The part I cant figure out is, the documents I am populating are identical. So for example, I have a List<Person> that contains 5 persons. I want to fill out a PDF for each person and merge them all into one, in memory. Bare in mind I am going to fill out the same type of document for each person. The problem I am getting is that when I try to add a second copy of the same PDF to be filled out for the second iteration, it just overwrites the first populated PDF, since it's the same document, therefore not adding a second copy for the second Person at all. So basically if I had the 5 people, I would end up with a single page with the data of the 5th person, instead of a PDF with 5 like pages that contain the data of each person respectively. Here's some code... MemoryStream ms = ms = new MemoryStream(); PdfReader docReader = null; PdfStamper Stamper = null; List<Person> persons = new List<Person>() { new Person("Larry", "David"), new Person("Dustin", "Byfuglien"), new Person("Patrick", "Kane"), new Person("Johnathan", "Toews"), new Person("Marian", "Hossa") }; try { // Iterate thru all persons and populate a PDF for each foreach(var person in persons){ PdfCopyFields Copier = new PdfCopyFields(ms); Copier.AddDocument(GetReader("Person.pdf")); Copier.Close(); docReader = new PdfReader(ms.ToArray()); Stamper = new PdfStamper(docReader, ms); AcroFields Fields = Stamper.AcroFields; Fields.SetField("FirstName", person.FirstName); } }catch(Exception e){ // handle error }finally{ if (Stamper != null) { Stamper.Close(); } if (docReader != null) { docReader.Close(); } }

  • Different users get the same value in .ASPXANONYMOUS

    - by Malcolm Frexner
    My site allows anonymous users. I saw that under heavy load user get sometimes profile values from other users. This happens for anonymous users. I logged the access to profile data: /// <summary> /// /// </summary> /// <param name="controller"></param> /// <returns></returns> public static string ProfileID(this Controller controller ) { if (ApplicationConfiguration.LogProfileAccess) { StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(); (from header in controller.Request.Headers.ToPairs() select string.Concat(header.Key, ":", header.Value, ";")).ToList().ForEach(x => sb.Append(x)); string log = string.Format("ip:{0} url:{1} IsAuthenticated:{2} Name:{3} AnonId:{4} header:{5}", controller.Request.UserHostAddress, controller.Request.Url.ToString(), controller.Request.IsAuthenticated, controller.User.Identity.Name, controller.Request.AnonymousID, sb); _log.Debug(log); } return controller.Request.IsAuthenticated ? controller.User.Identity.Name : controller.Request.AnonymousID; } I can see in the log that user realy get the same cookievalue for .ASPXANONYMOUS even if they have different IP. Just to be safe I removed dependency injection for the FormsAuthentication. I dont use OutputCaching. My web.config has this setting for authentication: <anonymousIdentification enabled="true" cookieless="UseCookies" cookieName=".ASPXANONYMOUS" cookieTimeout="30" cookiePath="/" cookieRequireSSL="false" cookieSlidingExpiration="true" /> <authentication mode="Forms"> <forms loginUrl="~/de/Account/Login" /> </authentication> Does anybody have an idea what else I could log or what I should have a look at?

  • What is wrong with the following Fluent NHibernate Mapping ?

    - by ashraf
    Hi, I have 3 tables (Many to Many relationship) Resource {ResourceId, Description} Role {RoleId, Description} Permission {ResourceId, RoleId} I am trying to map above tables in fluent-nHibernate. This is what I am trying to do. var aResource = session.Get<Resource>(1); // 2 Roles associated (Role 1 and 2) var aRole = session.Get<Role>(1); aResource.Remove(aRole); // I try to delete just 1 role from permission. But the sql generated here is (which is wrong) Delete from Permission where ResourceId = 1 Insert into Permission (ResourceId, RoleId) values (1, 2); Instead of (right way) Delete from Permission where ResourceId = 1 and RoleId = 1 Why nHibernate behave like this? What wrong with the mapping? I even tried with Set instead of IList. Here is the full code. Entities public class Resource { public virtual string Description { get; set; } public virtual int ResourceId { get; set; } public virtual IList<Role> Roles { get; set; } public Resource() { Roles = new List<Role>(); } } public class Role { public virtual string Description { get; set; } public virtual int RoleId { get; set; } public virtual IList<Resource> Resources { get; set; } public Role() { Resources = new List<Resource>(); } } Mapping Here // Mapping .. public class ResourceMap : ClassMap<Resource> { public ResourceMap() { Id(x => x.ResourceId); Map(x => x.Description); HasManyToMany(x => x.Roles).Table("Permission"); } } public class RoleMap : ClassMap<Role> { public RoleMap() { Id(x => x.RoleId); Map(x => x.Description); HasManyToMany(x => x.Resources).Table("Permission"); } } Program static void Main(string[] args) { var factory = CreateSessionFactory(); using (var session = factory.OpenSession()) { using (var tran = session.BeginTransaction()) { var aResource = session.Get<Resource>(1); var aRole = session.Get<Role>(1); aResource.Remove(aRole); session.Save(a); session.Flush(); tran.Commit(); } } } private static ISessionFactory CreateSessionFactory() { return Fluently.Configure() .Database(MsSqlConfiguration.MsSql2008 .ConnectionString("server=(local);database=Store;Integrated Security=SSPI")) .Mappings(m => m.FluentMappings.AddFromAssemblyOf<Program>() .Conventions.Add<CustomForeignKeyConvention>()) .BuildSessionFactory(); } public class CustomForeignKeyConvention : ForeignKeyConvention { protected override string GetKeyName(FluentNHibernate.Member property, Type type) { return property == null ? type.Name + "Id" : property.Name + "Id"; } } Thanks, Ashraf.

  • How to log off multiple MembershipUsers that are not the current user?

    - by Sgraffite
    I'm using the MembershipProvider that is part of the MVC2 default project. I'd like to be able to take a list of user names, and log the users off, and destroy their session if needed. The closest I can seem to come is this: foreach(string userName in UserNames) { MembershipProvider MembershipProvider = new MembershipProvider(); MembershipUser membershipUser = MembershipProvider.GetUser(userName, true); Session.Abandon(); FormsAuthentication.SignOut(); } I think I need to use a session and/or signout method related the user I want to log out, but I am unsure where those would be. What is the proper way to do this?

  • Custom ValidationAttribute test against whole model

    - by griegs
    I know this is probably not possible but let's say I have a model with two properties. I write a ValidationAttribute for one of the properties. Can that VA look at the other property and make a decision? So; public class QuickQuote { public String state { get; set; } [MyRequiredValidator(ErrorMessage = "Error msg")] public String familyType { get; set; } So in the above example, can the validator test to see what's in the "state" property and take that into consideration when validating "familyType"? I know I can probably save the object to the session but would like to avoid any saving of state if possible.

  • How do I refer to a constant URL in my route configuration?

    - by Remnant
    Suppose I have the following within a webpage <% using (Html.BeginForm("ShowData", "Summary")) %> <% { %> <div class="dropdown"><%=Html.DropDownList("CourseSelection", Model.CourseList, new { @class = "dropdown", onchange="this.form.submit();" })%> </div> <% } %> When the user makes a selection from the dropdown the form is submitted and I would like it to link to another page with a URL as follows: http://localhost:1721/Summary I have the following routes: routes.MapRoute(null, "Summary", new { controller = "Summary", action = "ShowData", CourseSelection = (string) null }); routes.MapRoute("Default", "{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Login", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional }); When a user selects an item in the dropdownlist, the URL returned is: http://localhost:1721/Summary/ShowData?CourseSelection = UserSelection Clearly the first route in the list is not being matched. I don't want the URL to show the action name and parameter. I simply want to show "Summary" which is what I have hard coded in the URL. How do I achieve this?

  • Create a T4MVC ActionLink with hash/pound sign)

    - by Dan Atkinson
    Is there a way to create a strongly typed T4MVC ActionLink with a hash in it? For example, here is the link I'd like to create: <a href="/Home/Index#food">Feed me</a> But there's no extension to the T4MVC object that can do this. <%= Html.ActionLink("Feed me", T4MVC.Home.Index()) %> So, what I end up having to do is create an action, and then embed it that way: <a href="<%= Url.Action(T4MVC.Home.Index()) %>"#food>Feed me</a> This isn't very desirable. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions? Thanks in advance
