I am just starting off with C#. I managed to get a list of running processes and getting a particular process ID. Can someone tell me how to get a list of files that are opened by a given process ID?
I have an ASP.NET WebForms public business site. I want to integrate a discussion forum into my site. However, I don't want people to have to log in twice.
Can someone recommend a ready made discussion forum solution that I can drop into my site, yet be able to customize with my login infrastructure?
I am in the process of setting up a batch script to do a specified action if the script was run on a weekday, and an alternate action if run on the weekend.
I am almost completely unfamiliar with writing batch scripts, but I know how to write my entire script except the logic I describe above. Can someone please answer both if it is possible, and if it is at least a framework of how to implement it. Thanks in advance.
Can someone clarify - if in my activity, I leave to call an intent via startActivityForResult (such as take a picture), when users return to my app, what is the entry point for that activity? Is it onCreate, onStart, or onResume?
Thanks!
Hello!
I have a UITableView with custom cells. The cells containing one UITextView each and the cell is resizing during user type text in the TextView. My problem is when user is on first row in a TextView autocorrection bubbles wont be visible in the current cell. Is there any workaround or can someone point me to another direction?
I want to start making a program for a local charity on the Android platform.
Where can go I for resources and tutorials to learn? I'm very new at this, so would like something simple that can be followed by someone with minimal technical knowledge.
I was taken aback earlier today when debugging some code to find that something like the following does not throw a compile-time exception:
public Test () {
HashMap map = (HashMap) getList();
}
private List getList(){
return new ArrayList();
}
As you can imagine, a ClassCastException is thrown at runtime, but can someone explain why the casting of a List to a HashMap is considered legal at compile time?

Events are really awesome, and I wouldn't know what I would do without them, but they're a mystery to me.
I'm talking about events in a sense, a function(s) is called if a property, or value, a special event happens.
I have only the vaguest idea how these actually work. I know it's an observer pattern, but I don't truly know how it works and/or how to implement it.
Can someone explain that to me?
Hey, I'd like to write to a text file to record a set of scores. However, everytime I write to it it overwrites what was originally in the file. Please can someone tell me how to not let it overwrite what is there or how to make it start writing in an empty space. Thank you in advance.
I've only ever learned to "program" with notepad when I was learning to create batch files in Windows.
I would appreciate if you can explain to me the benefits of working with an IDE over a text editor or vice versa. Please don't give emotional responses or argue someone else's suggestion/advice. I use Linux primarily. Also, I would like to be able to make programs that can be used in Windows, but programmed in Linux. Thanks.
if i use the custom css generator on their webpage i can have a wider width than 960? so isnt the name 960 kind of misleading?
and some persons say that you cant have a flexible grid system (that changes with your browser size) with 960. but you can download a fluid version from the custom css generator. so apparently they didnt know what they were talking about?
would be great if someone could straight these things out.
As someone who hasn't followed the C++0x - now C++1x - story and developments closely, I am considering that it is nearing the time when I need to come up to speed with the 'released' version. I also am not really interested in looking over the standard immediately. Therefore:
What resources are there that give the "effective changelog" between language versions?
What books/articles are there that probe into the use of the new features?
(marked as community wiki, if there are other good questions that relate to the transition, put them up)
I'd like to be able to determine what class will be called given an URL.
For instance,
I have a page /First.aspx that has a hyperlink to /Second.aspx
In the code behind for First.aspx.cs, I'd like to be able to determine what class will execute if someone clicks on the hyperlink that points to /Second.aspx.
I am writing a GAE application and I would like to have an input box with google auto-suggest. Specifically, when a user types "Shawshank" I would like to see google's suggestions in my drop down.
Can someone tell me what are the different ways of doing this? I understand I may have to use some javascript libraries so any code samples etc will help immensely. (Pure javascript/jquery kinda solutions will be more preferable)
There seems to be a plethora of documentation tools for Python. Another one that I've run across is epydoc. It seems like Sphinx is the de facto standard, because it's used to generate the official Python docs. Can someone please sort out the current state of Python's documentation tools for me?
Hi frens
I'm planning to explore the possibilities on how to make a screen lock better (like pattern based). It will be great help if someone points out the difficulty level or where to actually start digging. This is going to be my project idea for minor research paper. What do u guys think or if anyone has more ideas worth exploring, I would like to consider it.

Hi!
Is there a method to build a balanced binary search tree?
Example:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
5
/ \
3 etc
/ \
2 4
/
1
I'm thinking there is a method to do this, without using the more complex self-balancing trees. Otherwise I can do it on my own, but someone probably have done this already :)
hi,

I want to create a wordpress plugin where it adds additional controls underneath the WYSIWYG editor when adding pages/posts. But I don't know what keywords I'm supposed to google for to find relevant tutorials on how to do it.
Can someone provide me with resources?
