  • Selecting MXML siblings with actionscript, like javascript?

    - by duder
I'm trying to get the sibling of an mxml tag similar to the way siblings are selected in javascript. Is this possible in Actionscript? For example, when I click the TextArea with id textarea1, I need it to tell me that the sibling has an id of rect1 so I can do further processing to it. <s:Group> <s:TextArea id="textarea1" click="getSibling(event)" /> <s:Rect id="rect1" /> </s:Group>

  • Excel data connection - remove header row?

    - by ekoner
The excel spreadsheet is connecting to SQL server 2005 using the connection string below: Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Integrated Security=SSPI;Persist Security Info=True;Initial Catalog=XXXXXX;Data Source=XXXXXX;Extended Properties="HDR=No";Use Procedure for Prepare=1;Auto Translate=True;Packet Size=4096;Workstation ID=XXXXXX;Use Encryption for Data=False;Tag with column collation when possible=False It then pulls data from a view into Excel. The business user wants this information without a header row. This will allow her to review then save as a "headless" csv in SAGE file format. I attempted to alter the connection string by adding HDR=No but that hasn't worked. Additionally, I can't delete the header row. Deleting the content replaces the column names with "Column 1" etc. Any ideas appreciated!

  • Removing whitespace between HTML elements when using line breaks

    - by Skilldrick
I have a page with a row of about 10 imgs. For readability of the HTML, I want to put a linebreak in between each img tag, but doing so renders whitespace between the images, which I do not want. Is there anything I can do other than break in the middle of the tags rather than between them? Edit: Here is a screenshot of what I have so far. I would like the book spine images to display in random combinations, using PHP. This is why I need separate img tags.

  • Merging MySQL row entries into a single row

    - by Derrick
I've got two tables, one for listings and another representing a list of tags for the listings table. In the listings table the tag ids are stored in a field called tags as 1-2-3-. This has worked out very well for me (regular expressions and joins to separate and display the data), but I now need to pull the titles of those tags into a single row. See below. listings table id tags 1 1-2-3- 2 4-5-6- tags table id title 1 pig 2 dog 3 cat 4 mouse 5 elephant 6 duck And what I need to produce out of the listings table is: id tags 2 mouse, elephant, duck

  • Python urllib3 and how to handle cookie support?

    - by bigredbob
So I'm looking into urllib3 because it has connection pooling and is thread safe (so performance is better, especially for crawling), but the documentation is... minimal to say the least. urllib2 has build_opener so something like: #!/usr/bin/python import cookielib, urllib2 cj = cookielib.CookieJar() opener = urllib2.build_opener(urllib2.HTTPCookieProcessor(cj)) r = opener.open("http://example.com/") But urllib3 has no build_opener method, so the only way I have figured out so far is to manually put it in the header: #!/usr/bin/python import urllib3 http_pool = urllib3.connection_from_url("http://example.com") myheaders = {'Cookie':'some cookie data'} r = http_pool.get_url("http://example.org/", headers=myheaders) But I am hoping there is a better way and that one of you can tell me what it is. Also can someone tag this with "urllib3" please.

  • Is a switch statement ok for 30 or so conditions?

    - by DeanMc
I am in the final stages of creating an MP4 tag parser in .Net. For those who have experience with tagging music you would be aware that there are an average of 30 or so tags. If tested out different types of loops and it seems that a switch statement with Const values seems to be the way to go with regard to catching the tags in binary. The switch allows me to search the binary without the need to know which order the tags are stored or if there are some not present but I wonder if anyone would be against using a switch statement for so many conditionals. Any insight is much appreciated.

  • IE6 HTML control wrapping

    - by astonius
Is there any way to prevent wrapping across controls in IE6? For example, I have a label and a single select box. The select box width is dynamic (depending on the content). I want the label to always be to the left of the select box. Right now the problem I am having is the select box drops below the label. I have tried using the <nobr> tag as well as CSS word-wrap rules, but because this isn't text the wrapping rules do not apply. The only way I have found for sure to make it work is to place them in a two-column table, but I do not like this solution. Is there any other way?

  • How to override HTML <FONT SIZE="2"> with CSS

    - by Deverill
I was given the task of doing a facelift to our current site. I am moderately well versed in CSS so I am converting the bazillion tags to CSS styles and deleting about 2 times that many that were simply not necessary. It's all going well until I run into a certain product page that is only a wrapper into which other HTML files are pulled by a server.execute(filename) command. (we're using aspx for the wrapper page.) There are almost 700 of these pages and they all are cursed with this and that. Past editors with FrontPage that only know how to drag pretty things on the screen. Anyway, I am wondering if there is a way to use CSS in the wrapper page to override the tag behavior so I can make it something sane that fits with the rest of my pages. I'd even be open to something JavaScript that would remove the tags, but that's my less preferred solution. Thanks!

  • .NET interview, code structure and the design

    - by j_lewis
I have been given the below .NET question in an interview. I don’t know why I got low marks. Unfortunately I did not get a feedback. Question: The file hockey.csv contains the results from the Hockey Premier League. The columns ‘For’ and ‘Against’ contain the total number of goals scored for and against each team in that season (so Alabama scored 79 goals against opponents, and had 36 goals scored against them). Write a program to print the name of the team with the smallest difference in ‘for’ and ‘against’ goals. the structure of the hockey.csv looks like this (it is a valid csv file, but I just copied the values here to get an idea) Team - For - Against Alabama 79 36 Washinton 67 30 Indiana 87 45 Newcastle 74 52 Florida 53 37 New York 46 47 Sunderland 29 51 Lova 41 64 Nevada 33 63 Boston 30 64 Nevada 33 63 Boston 30 64 Solution: class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { string path = @"C:\Users\<valid csv path>"; var resultEvaluator = new ResultEvaluator(string.Format(@"{0}\{1}",path, "hockey.csv")); var team = resultEvaluator.GetTeamSmallestDifferenceForAgainst(); Console.WriteLine( string.Format("Smallest difference in ‘For’ and ‘Against’ goals > TEAM: {0}, GOALS DIF: {1}", team.Name, team.Difference )); Console.ReadLine(); } } public interface IResultEvaluator { Team GetTeamSmallestDifferenceForAgainst(); } public class ResultEvaluator : IResultEvaluator { private static DataTable leagueDataTable; private readonly string filePath; private readonly ICsvExtractor csvExtractor; public ResultEvaluator(string filePath){ this.filePath = filePath; csvExtractor = new CsvExtractor(); } private DataTable LeagueDataTable{ get { if (leagueDataTable == null) { leagueDataTable = csvExtractor.GetDataTable(filePath); } return leagueDataTable; } } public Team GetTeamSmallestDifferenceForAgainst() { var teams = GetTeams(); var lowestTeam = teams.OrderBy(p => p.Difference).First(); return lowestTeam; } private IEnumerable<Team> GetTeams() { IList<Team> list = new List<Team>(); foreach (DataRow row in LeagueDataTable.Rows) { var name = row["Team"].ToString(); var @for = int.Parse(row["For"].ToString()); var against = int.Parse(row["Against"].ToString()); var team = new Team(name, against, @for); list.Add(team); } return list; } } public interface ICsvExtractor { DataTable GetDataTable(string csvFilePath); } public class CsvExtractor : ICsvExtractor { public DataTable GetDataTable(string csvFilePath) { var lines = File.ReadAllLines(csvFilePath); string[] fields; fields = lines[0].Split(new[] { ',' }); int columns = fields.GetLength(0); var dt = new DataTable(); //always assume 1st row is the column name. for (int i = 0; i < columns; i++) { dt.Columns.Add(fields[i].ToLower(), typeof(string)); } DataRow row; for (int i = 1; i < lines.GetLength(0); i++) { fields = lines[i].Split(new char[] { ',' }); row = dt.NewRow(); for (int f = 0; f < columns; f++) row[f] = fields[f]; dt.Rows.Add(row); } return dt; } } public class Team { public Team(string name, int against, int @for) { Name = name; Against = against; For = @for; } public string Name { get; private set; } public int Against { get; private set; } public int For { get; private set; } public int Difference { get { return (For - Against); } } } Output: Smallest difference in for' andagainst' goals TEAM: Boston, GOALS DIF: -34 Can someone please review my code and see anything obviously wrong here? They were only interested in the structure/design of the code and whether the program produces the correct result (i.e lowest difference). Much appreciated. • magic records being deleted

    - by chris
i have customised oscommerce to pull in a csv file of products, delete anything thats not with an image/proper description/proper title gets removed. The import runs on a cron job basis pulling information from a supplier, it hasnt run since yesterday but a product has disappeared- Anyone who has used oscommerce will know that, product information is stored over multiple tables. example is- products product_description and so on. the thing that has got me that the information is deleted from the product table but not from the product_description table. The product that is being deleted is a manually input one which carries a special tag/prefix on the model item of the product table. Therefore shouldn't be touched at all. Am clueles as what is going on. Is there mysql integrity checks deleting records? could there be another plugin working on oscommerce?

  • Stripes link event triggering validation that is incorrect.

    - by Davoink
I have stripes:link tag in a jsp with an event attribute: <stripes:link href="${actionBean.context.currentStage.stripesForwardAction}" addSourcePage="true" event="showTab2Link"> This triggers the validation to trigger on nested properties: @ValidateNestedProperties({ @Validate(field="county", required=true, minlength=2, maxlength=2, mask="\\d\\d"), @Validate(field="parish", required=true, minlength=3, maxlength=3, mask="\\d\\d\\d"), @Validate(field="holding", required=true, minlength=4, maxlength=4, mask="\\d\\d\\d\\d") }) However this would been fine if the actual values it is validation are not present, but they are present within the html and when debugging the bean. Why would the stripes:link trigger this? If I change it to an stripes:submit then it is fine. thanks, Dave

  • Sending BLOBs in a JSON service,... how?

    - by Marten Sytema
Hello I have a webservice (ie. servlet) implemented in Java. It gets some data from a MySQL table, with one column being of type BLOB (an image), and some other columns are just plain text. Normally I would store the file outside the database with a pointer to it in the database, but due to circumstance I now have to use this BLOB column... What is the proper way to send this? How to encode the image in a JSONObject, and how to parse (and RENDER!) it on the otherside ? I want to use JSONP, to avoid having to proxy it through the consumer's webserver. So that the consumer can just put in a tag pointing to the webservice, calling a callback. Any thoughts how to handle images in this situation? Also thoughts on performance etc. are interesting!

  • restful way for deleting a bunch of items

    - by keisimone
In wiki article for REST it is indicated that if you use http://example.com/resources DELETE, that means you are deleting the entire collection. If you use http://example.com/resources/7HOU57Y DELETE, that means you are deleting that element. I am doing a WEBSITE, note NOT WEB SERVICE. I have a list that has 1 checkbox for each item on the list. Once i select multiple items for deletion, i will allow users to press a button called DELETE SELECTION. If user presses the button, a js dialog box will popup asking user to confirm the deletion. if user confirms, all the items are deleted. So how should i cater for deleting multiple items in a RESTFUL way? NOTE, currently for DELETE in a webpage, what i do is i use FORM tag with POST as action but include a _method with the value DELETE since this is what was indicated by others in SO on how to do RESTful delete for webpage.

  • etree.findall: 'OR'-lookup?

    - by piquadrat
I want to find all stylesheet definitions in a XHTML file with lxml.etree.findall. This could be as simple as elems = tree.findall('link[@rel="stylesheet"]') + tree.findall('style') But the problem with CSS style definitions is that the order matters, e.g. <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/media/css/first.css" /> <style>body:{font-size: 10px;}</style> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/media/css/second.css" /> if the contents of the style tag is applied after the rules in the two link tags, the result may be completely different from the one where the rules are applied in order of definition. So, how would I do a lookup that inlcudes both link[@rel="stylesheet"] and style?

  • Show them the default, and allow them to press escape or Ctrl-Z

    - by cf_PhillipSenn
I have a table cell, and when the user clicks on it, I replace the contents of the table cell with an input tag with the current contents as the default. But I don't like it's behavior because there's a chance that the user can delete the contexts on the input simply by clicking on it a second time. $('.LastName').live('click', function() { var myText = $(this).text(); $(this).empty().append('<input name="LastName" id="LastName" value="' + myText + '" />'); document.myForm.LastName.focus(); }); Q: How do I give the user a default, plus allow them to press the escape key or Ctrl-Z while in the middle of an edit?

  • HTML 5 Canvas - Get pixel data for a path

    - by Mikey S.
I wonder if is there any way I can get pixel data for the currently drawn path in the canvas tag. I can calculate the pixel data on my own when drawing simple shapes like square or a line, but things get messy with more complicated shapes like ellipse or even a simple circle. The reason i'm asking this is because I'm working on a web application which involves sending canvas pixels data to the server when I add a path to the canvas. The server needs to keep it's own copy of the entire canvas, and I really don't want to send the ENTIRE canvas image every single change, but only the delta for efficiency reasons... Thanks.

  • a4j:commandButton causes full page reload on IE7

    - by Greg Charles
Our process allows users to activate their account, and then configure e-mail preferences. We're using the tag: <a4j:commandButton id="activate" action="#{controller.agreeAction}" image="/img/ok.png" styleClass="activate-button" reRender="mainContent, sideBar" oncomplete="showEmailDialog();" /> This works fine on Firefox, but on IE, the showEmaiDialog() fires off to display the new dialog, and then the full page reloads, which instantly hides it again. I put in numerous alert() calls to make sure of what was happening. I see the e-mail dialog until I clear the final alert box in in the showEmailDialog() script, and then I see the alerts that I put into jQuery(document).ready(). Why does IE do a full page reload instead of just refreshing the requested sections?

  • Is is better to store serialized data or raw html in mysql?

    - by Yegor
I de-normalized my database, since the application was crawling otherwise, and Im storing a list of categories for each item in the DB as a raw html version, and simply echoing it out in my design. Each category is actually a link, which is include a tag. Naturally, this is abit of a pain, especially if I want to change the look of how the category links are displayed, since I gotta update all the old cached entries. What if I were to store this data as a serialized array instead, and simply unserialize it, and then apply formatting to it in php. Would there be a significant performance decrease over simply echoing out the raw html?

  • Problem with anchor tags in Django after using lighttpd + fastcgi

    - by Drew A
I just started using lighttpd and fastcgi for my django site, but I've noticed my anchor links are no longer working. I used the anchor links for sorting links on the page, for example I use an anchor to sort links by the number of points (or votes) they have received. For example: the code in the html template: ... {% load sorting_tags %} ... {% ifequal sort_order "points" %} {% trans "total points" %} {% trans "or" %} {% anchor "date" "date posted" %} {% order_by_votes links request.direction %} {% else %} {% anchor "points" "total points" %} {% trans "or" %} {% trans "date posted" %} ... The anchor link on "www.mysite.com/my_app/" for total points will be directed to "my_app/?sort=points" But the correct URL should be "www.mysite.com/my_app/?sort=points" All my other links work, the problem is specific to anchor links. The {% anchor %} tag is taken from django-sorting, the code can be found at http://github.com/directeur/django-sorting Specifically in django-sorting/templatetags/sorting_tags.py Thanks in advance.
