  Hello, I've stumbled upon this flash map http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/special/nation/unemployment-by-county/ it looks like they used this map to construct the website. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:USA_Counties_with_FIPS_and_names.svg I am curious as to what people have done or any blogs that describe what can be done with flex and simple maps like this (not google maps style maps) but simple all-in-memory maps like this one.   The use case: to sign a electronic document, users view the document, and if they agree take a picture of themselves with their webcam (done through Flash from the browser). Then a PDF is generated containing the document and the picture in place of signature. This is a biometric signature, which is not as strong as a digital (cryptographic) signature, but stronger than having users draw their signature, as a photo is harder to forge than a drawn signature. Has anyone seen this technique being used on an existing web site?

  Hi, I am using Dialog 2010 and Windows 7. When I invoke TTaskDialog.Execute method, there is a short flash of screen cursor change to hour glass. Is there any way to get rid of it? As it doesn't have much meaning for a simple task dialog but causing some delay to wait for the dialog prompt out.

  In the article Using Java DB in Desktop Applications the Address Book demo have a method disconnect which have a try-catch block that catch and ignores the exception. If you add a printStackTrace you can see that the exception always occur. What's wrong here? The JavaDB should not throw this exception, or they should fix something in the example program?

  I'm trying to setup a Pinax demo to work on and I've tried it under both Windows and FreeBSD with no luck...in both OS's, the virtual environment is created without a hitch, but then the following happens: For Windows, I can start the virtal environment and clone one of the sample projects as my starting point....however, running: manage.py syncdb Gives this error:Error: Can't import Pinax. Make sure you're in a virtual environment that has Pinax installed... For FreeBSD, when I try to start the environment: Badly placed ()'s What could be the problem?

• Why do I get UDP datagrams out of order even with processes runnning locally?

  Well, I'm developing a java interface between a streaming server and a flash client. I noticed that UDP datagrams can reach my interface out of order even if both processes are running locally.   Hi, I need to implement browser plugin which can register it's own protocol (like someprotocol://someurl ) and be able to handle calls to this protocol (like user clicking on 'someprotocol' link calls function inside my plugin). As far as I undesrtand Skype does something simmilar, except I need to handle links within page context and not in separated app. Any advices on how this can be done? Can this be done without installing my own plugin, with help of flash/java?
