  • Access to iTunes Sound Check Results on iPhone

    - by Baldoph
    I would like to propose to the user some songs whose volume doesn't exceed a certain level. Is there any way to access to the results of the 'Sound Check' option, from the iPhone ? If not, do you know if I can calculate that with the audio tools in the iPhone SDK ? Thanks a lot.

  • access parametrically values of variables inside environments

    - by Apostolos
    Let's say we have one or more environments and variables in them. My question is how we access the values of these variables, parametrically. rm(list = ls()) env1 <- new.env() env1$var1 <- "value1" env2 <- new.env() env2$var2 <- "value2" env <- ls.str(mode="environment") # We get the environments var <- ls.str(eval(parse(text = env[1])))# We get the variables of an environment eval(var[1]) # We fail to get the value of a variable Thank you all, in advance

  • Javascript syntax for abbreviating repeated access to same identifier

    - by yongjieli
    Hi all I wanted to ask if there is a formal way of describing the following code, whereby we can access the same object repeatedly without re-typing the object's identifier: myObj.render(1).render(2).print(); I didn't know how to describe it when trying to form a question; I wanted to know whether or not something like this is possible in javascript, I know that I can do it in VB: myObj.render(1) if(foo == 'bar') .render(2) .print(); Thanks!

  • EXC_BAD_ACCESS in CFAttributedStringSetAttribute and NSNumber?

    - by RichardR
    Hi all, I am getting an infuriating EXC_BAD_ACCESS error in an objective c app I am working on. Any help you could offer would be much appreciated. I have tried the normal debug methods for this error (turning on NSZombieEnabled, checking retain/release/autorelease to make sure I'm not trying to access a deallocated object, etc.) and it hasn't seemed to help. Basically, the error always occurs in this function: ` void op_TJ(CGPDFScannerRef scanner, void *info) { PDFPage *self = info; CGPDFArrayRef array; NSMutableString *tempString = [NSMutableString stringWithCapacity:1]; NSMutableArray *kernArray = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithCapacity:1]; if(!CGPDFScannerPopArray(scanner, &array)) { [kernArray release]; return; } for(size_t n = 0; n < CGPDFArrayGetCount(array); n += 2) { if(n >= CGPDFArrayGetCount(array)) continue; CGPDFStringRef pdfString; // if we get a PDF string if (CGPDFArrayGetString(array, n, &pdfString)) { //get the actual string const unsigned char *charstring = CGPDFStringGetBytePtr(pdfString); //add this string to our temp string [tempString appendString:[NSString stringWithCString:(const char*)charstring encoding:[self pageEncoding]]]; //NSLog(@"string: %@", tempString); //get the space after this string CGPDFReal r = 0; if (n+1 < CGPDFArrayGetCount(array)) { CGPDFArrayGetNumber(array, n+1, &r); // multiply by the font size CGFloat k = r; k = -k/1000 * self.tmatrix.a * self.fontSize; CGFloat kKern = self.kern * self.tmatrix.a; k = k + kKern; // add the location and kern to the array NSNumber *tempKern = [NSNumber numberWithFloat:k]; NSLog(@"tempKern address: %p", tempKern); [kernArray addObject:[NSArray arrayWithObjects:[NSNumber numberWithInt:[tempString length] - 1], tempKern, nil]]; } } } // create an attribute string CFMutableAttributedStringRef attString = CFAttributedStringCreateMutable(kCFAllocatorDefault, 10); CFAttributedStringReplaceString(attString, CFRangeMake(0, 0), (CFStringRef)tempString); //apply overall kerning NSNumber *tkern = [NSNumber numberWithFloat:self.kern * self.tmatrix.a * self.fontSize]; CFAttributedStringSetAttribute(attString, CFRangeMake(0, CFAttributedStringGetLength(attString)), kCTKernAttributeName, (CFNumberRef)tkern); //apply individual kern attributes for (NSArray *kernLoc in kernArray) { NSLog(@"kern location: %i, %i", [[kernLoc objectAtIndex:0] intValue],[[kernLoc objectAtIndex:1] floatValue]); CFAttributedStringSetAttribute(attString, CFRangeMake([[kernLoc objectAtIndex:0] intValue], 1), kCTKernAttributeName, (CFNumberRef)[kernLoc objectAtIndex:1]); } CFAttributedStringReplaceAttributedString([self cfAttString], CFRangeMake(CFAttributedStringGetLength([self cfAttString]), 0), attString); //release CFRelease(attString); [kernArray release]; } ` The program always crashes because of line CFAttributedStringSetAttribute(attString, CFRangeMake([[kernLoc objectAtIndex:0] intValue], 1), kCTKernAttributeName, (CFNumberRef)[kernLoc objectAtIndex:1]) And it seems to depend on a few things: if [kernLoc objectAtIndex:1] refers to an [NSNumber numberWithFloat:k] where k = 0 (in other words, if k = 0 above where I populate kernArray) then the program crashes almost immediately If I comment out the line k = k + kKern, it takes longer for the program to crash, but does eventually (why would the crash depend on this value?) If I change the length of CFRangeMake from 1 to 0, it takes a lot longer for the program to crash, but still eventually does. (I don't think I am trying to access beyond the bounds of attString, but am I missing something?) When it crashes, I get something similar to: #0 0x942c7ed7 in objc_msgSend () #1 0x00000013 in ?? () #2 0x0285b827 in CFAttributedStringSetAttribute () #3 0x0000568f in op_TJ (scanner=0x472a590, info=0x4a32320) at /Users/Richard/Desktop/AppTest/PDFHighlight 2/PDFScannerOperators.m:251 Any ideas? It seems like somewhere along the way I am overwriting memory or trying to access memory that has been changed, but I have no idea. If there's anymore information I can provide, please let me know. Thanks, Richard

  • IIS 7.5 can't access file from managed code

    - by Bob
    I am working on a project that is click-once deployed from an IIS 7.5 web server. After installing the parent application (i.e. setting up the IIS site) I am able to hit the url for the click-once app's config file from a remote box. HOWEVER, when I attempt to do the same thing from my app (and the stub app below), I get a 401 Unauthorized. What is the difference between hitting the URL from IE, and from a .NET app? The file and directory itself have full control granted to everyone on the webserver at the moment, and I am an admin on the box. We are using Windows Authentication with NTLM only. Thanks, -Bob Here is the stub app that produces the 401 - Unauthorized when on the doc.Load() line. I can hit the same URL successfully from IE and open the file... static void Main(string[] args) { Console.WriteLine("Config Test"); string filename = "http://dev-rs/myClient/myClickOnce/myApp.config.xml"; Console.WriteLine(filename); XmlDocument doc = new XmlDocument(); doc.Load(filename); Console.WriteLine("Loaded"); Console.WriteLine("Inner Text : " + doc.InnerText); }

  • Delphi7 - How can i copy a file that is being written to

    - by Simon
    I have an application that logs information to a daily text file every second on a master PC. A Slave PC on the network using the same application would like to copy this text file to its local drive. I can see there is going to be file access issues. These files should be no larger than 30-40MB each. the network will be 100MB ethernet. I can see there is potential for the copying process to take longer than 1 second meaning the logging PC will need to open the file for writing while it is being read. What is the best method for the file writing(logging) and file copying procedures? I know there is the standard Windows CopyFile() procedure, however this has given me file access problems. There is also TFileStream using the fmShareDenyNone flag, but this also very occasionally gives me an access problem too (like 1 per week). What is this the best way of accomplishing this task? My current File Logging: procedure FSWriteline(Filename,Header,s : String); var LogFile : TFileStream; line : String; begin if not FileExists(filename) then begin LogFile := TFileStream.Create(FileName, fmCreate or fmShareDenyNone); try LogFile.Seek(0,soFromEnd); line := Header + #13#10; LogFile.Write(line[1],Length(line)); line := s + #13#10; LogFile.Write(line[1],Length(line)); finally logfile.Free; end; end else begin line := s + #13#10; Logfile:=tfilestream.Create(Filename,fmOpenWrite or fmShareDenyNone); try logfile.Seek(0,soFromEnd); Logfile.Write(line[1], length(line)); finally Logfile.free; end; end; end; My file copy procedure: procedure DoCopy(infile, Outfile : String); begin ForceDirectories(ExtractFilePath(outfile)); //ensure folder exists if FileAge(inFile) = FileAge(OutFile) then Exit; //they are the same modified time try { Open existing destination } fo := TFileStream.Create(Outfile, fmOpenReadWrite or fmShareDenyNone); fo.Position := 0; except { otherwise Create destination } fo := TFileStream.Create(OutFile, fmCreate or fmShareDenyNone); end; try { open source } fi := TFileStream.Create(InFile, fmOpenRead or fmShareDenyNone); try cnt:= 0; fi.Position := cnt; max := fi.Size; {start copying } Repeat dod := BLOCKSIZE; // Block size if cnt+dod>max then dod := max-cnt; if dod>0 then did := fo.CopyFrom(fi, dod); cnt:=cnt+did; Percent := Round(Cnt/Max*100); until (dod=0) finally fi.free; end; finally fo.free; end; end;

  • Replacement for Hamachi for SVN access

    - by Piers
    My company has been using Hamachi to access our SVN repository for a number of years. We are a small yet widely distributed development team with each programmer in a different country working from home. The server is hosted by a non-techie in our central office. Hamachi is useful here since it has a GUI and supports remote management. This system worked well for a while, but recently I have moved to a country with poor internet speeds. Hamachi will no longer connect 99% of the time - instead I get a "Probing..." message that doesn't resolve. It's certain to be a latency issue, as the same laptop will connect without problems when I cross the border and connect using a different ISP with better speeds. So I really need to replace Hamachi with some other VPN/protocol that handles latency better. The techie managing the repository is not comfortable installing and configuring Apache or IIS, so it looks like HTTP is out. I tried to convince my boss to go for a web hosting company, but he doesn't trust a 3rd party with our source. Any other recommended options / experiences out there for accessing our SVN repos that would be as simple as Hamachi for setup; but be more tolerant of network latency issues?

  • Ways to access a 32bit DLL from a 64bit exe

    - by bufferz
    I have a project that must be compiled and run in 64 bit mode. Unfortunately, I am required to call upon a DLL that is only available in 32 bit mode, so there's no way I can house everything in a 1 Visual Studio project. I am working to find the best way to wrap the 32 bit DLL in its own exe/service and issue remote (although on the same machine) calls to that exe/service from my 64 bit app. My OS is Win7 Pro 64 bit. The required calls to this 32 bit process are several dozen per second, but low data volume. This is a realtime image analysis application so response time is critical despite low volume. Lots of sending/receiving single primitives. Ideally, I would host a WCF service to house this DLL, but in a 64 bit OS one cannot force the service to run as x86! Source. That is really unfortunate since I timed function calls to the WCF service to be only 4ms on my machine. I have experimented with named pipes is .net. I found them to be 40-50 times slower than WCF (unusable for me). Any other options or suggestions for the best way to approach my puzzle?

  • SharePoint 2010 - Access denied during ApplyWebConfigModifications()

    - by tcoalson
    I have SharePoint 2010 installed on a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine which is also hosting SQL Sever 2008 R2. I am attempting to deploy a solution that includes web parts in the 2010 environment that is working fine in MOSS 2007. The Web Part feature has a feature receiver that updates the web.config. When I try to activate the feature through the Site Collection Feature GUI, I receive an access denied message. I am logged on to the server and in SharePoint with the APP Pool account which is also a member of the domain administrator group, local administrator group and SharePoint Farm Admin group. This account is also dbo on SQL Server. This same feature activates fine using the stsadm command. I have dug into this issue at length and here is what I have found: Looking at the Microsoft assemblies in reflector, my error is coming from the SPWebApplication.ApplyWebConfigModifications() method. I can see the trace statements from SPWebConfigFileChanges.RemoveModificationsWebConfigXMLDocument and SPWebConfigFileChanges.ApplyModificationsWebConfigXMLDocument. The next line is a Save(str). Below is the output from the SharePoint logs that pertain to this error: Apply web config modifications to web app 5a817a37-7bf6-4d26-be51-207369e38f5b 02/24/2010 16:05:41.09 w3wp.exe (0x0F64) 0x1034 SharePoint Foundation General 8grn Medium WebConfigModification: Applying web config modifications to web app in server tw-s1-m4400-007 5a817a37-7bf6-4d26-be51-207369e38f5b 02/24/2010 16:05:41.09 w3wp.exe (0x0F64) 0x1034 SharePoint Foundation Topology 88gw Medium WebConfigModification: Applying web config modifications to file C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\2008\web.config 5a817a37-7bf6-4d26-be51-207369e38f5b 02/24/2010 16:05:41.09 w3wp.exe (0x0F64) 0x1034 SharePoint Foundation Topology 887b Medium Removing web config node - Path configuration/system.web/httpModules Node name add[@name='JivePageController'] 5a817a37-7bf6-4d26-be51-207369e38f5b 02/24/2010 16:05:41.09 w3wp.exe (0x0F64) 0x1034 SharePoint Foundation Topology 887b Medium Removing web config node - Path configuration/system.web/httpHandlers Node name add[@path='ScriptResource.axd'] 5a817a37-7bf6-4d26-be51-207369e38f5b 02/24/2010 16:05:41.09 w3wp.exe (0x0F64) 0x1034 SharePoint Foundation Topology 887b Medium Removing web config node - Path configuration/runtime/*[local-name()="assemblyBinding" and namespace-uri()="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1"] Node name [local-name()="dependentAssembly"][/@name="System.Web.Extensions.Design"] 5a817a37-7bf6-4d26-be51-207369e38f5b 02/24/2010 16:05:41.09 w3wp.exe (0x0F64) 0x1034 SharePoint Foundation Topology 887b Medium Removing web config node - Path configuration/runtime/*[local-name()="assemblyBinding" and namespace-uri()="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1"] Node name [local-name()="dependentAssembly"][/@name="System.Web.Extensions"] 5a817a37-7bf6-4d26-be51-207369e38f5b 02/24/2010 16:05:41.09 w3wp.exe (0x0F64) 0x1034 SharePoint Foundation Topology 8gp8 Medium WebConfigModification: Adding web config node - Path - configuration/runtime/*[local-name()="assemblyBinding" and namespace-uri()="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1"] Node name - [local-name()="dependentAssembly"][/@name="System.Web.Extensions"] Node value - in web.config file C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\2008\web.config 5a817a37-7bf6-4d26-be51-207369e38f5b 02/24/2010 16:05:41.09 w3wp.exe (0x0F64) 0x1034 SharePoint Foundation Topology 8gp8 Medium WebConfigModification: Adding web config node - Path - configuration/runtime/*[local-name()="assemblyBinding" and namespace-uri()="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1"] Node name - [local-name()="dependentAssembly"][/@name="System.Web.Extensions.Design"] Node value - in web.config file C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\2008\web.config 5a817a37-7bf6-4d26-be51-207369e38f5b 02/24/2010 16:05:41.09 w3wp.exe (0x0F64) 0x1034 SharePoint Foundation Topology 8gp8 Medium WebConfigModification: Adding web config node - Path - configuration/system.web/httpHandlers Node name - add[@path='ScriptResource.axd'] Node value - in web.config file C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\2008\web.config 5a817a37-7bf6-4d26-be51-207369e38f5b 02/24/2010 16:05:41.09 w3wp.exe (0x0F64) 0x1034 SharePoint Foundation Topology 8gp8 Medium WebConfigModification: Adding web config node - Path - configuration/system.web/httpModules Node name - add[@name='JivePageController'] Node value - in web.config file C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\2008\web.config 5a817a37-7bf6-4d26-be51-207369e38f5b 02/24/2010 16:05:41.09 w3wp.exe (0x15C4) 0x1444 SharePoint Foundation Topology e5mb Medium WcfReceiveRequest: LocalAddress: 'http://tw-s1-m4400-007.jivedemo.local:32843/15702467ece1408f881abeabac3b5077/MetadataWebService.svc' Channel: 'System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannel' Action: xxx MessageId: 'urn:uuid:4e859532-ed7f-4937-8b88-68d3af43d589' 9f403ede-2c94-490b-a05c-e169cc5fe58d 02/24/2010 16:05:41.10 w3wp.exe (0x0F64) 0x1034 SharePoint Foundation Topology f6kh High WebConfigModification: Save of web.config file C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\2008\web.config for applying modifications to web app SharePoint - 2008 failed. • how do I access XHR responseBody from Javascript?

    - by Cheeso
    I've got a web page that uses XMLHttpRequest to download a binary resource. Because it's binary I'm trying to use xhr.responseBody to access the bytes. I've seen a few posts suggesting that it's impossible to access the bytes directly from Javascript. This sounds crazy to me. Weirdly, xhr.responseBody is accessible from VBScript, so the suggestion is that I must define a method in VBScript in the webpage, and then call that method from Javascript. See jsdap for one example. var IE_HACK = (/msie/i.test(navigator.userAgent) && !/opera/i.test(navigator.userAgent)); if (IE_HACK) document.write('<script type="text/vbscript">\n\ Function BinaryToArray(Binary)\n\ Dim i\n\ ReDim byteArray(LenB(Binary))\n\ For i = 1 To LenB(Binary)\n\ byteArray(i-1) = AscB(MidB(Binary, i, 1))\n\ Next\n\ BinaryToArray = byteArray\n\ End Function\n\ </script>'); var xml = (window.XMLHttpRequest) ? new XMLHttpRequest() // Mozilla/Safari/IE7+ : (window.ActiveXObject) ? new ActiveXObject("MSXML2.XMLHTTP") // IE6 : null; // Commodore 64? xml.open("GET", url, true); if (xml.overrideMimeType) { xml.overrideMimeType('text/plain; charset=x-user-defined'); } else { xml.setRequestHeader('Accept-Charset', 'x-user-defined'); } xml.onreadystatechange = function() { if (xml.readyState == 4) { if (!binary) { callback(xml.responseText); } else if (IE_HACK) { // call a VBScript method to copy every single byte callback(BinaryToArray(xml.responseBody).toArray()); } else { callback(getBuffer(xml.responseText)); } } }; xml.send(''); Is this really true? The best way? copying every byte? For a large binary stream that's not gonna be very efficient. There is also a possible technique using ADODB.Stream, which is a COM equivalent of a MemoryStream. See here for an example. It does not require VBScript but does require a separate COM object. if (typeof (ActiveXObject) != "undefined" && typeof (httpRequest.responseBody) != "undefined") { // Convert httpRequest.responseBody byte stream to shift_jis encoded string var stream = new ActiveXObject("ADODB.Stream"); stream.Type = 1; // adTypeBinary stream.Open (); stream.Write (httpRequest.responseBody); stream.Position = 0; stream.Type = 1; // adTypeBinary; stream.Read.... /// ???? what here } I don't think that's gonna work - ADODB.Stream is disabled on most machines these days. In The IE8 developer tools - the IE equivalent of Firebug - I can see the responseBody is an array of bytes and I can even see the bytes themselves. The data is right there. I don't understand why I can't get to it. Is it possible for me to read it with responseText? hints? (other than defining a VBScript method)
