  • How do I select an item out of a JavaScript array when I only know a value for one of the item's pro

    - by minus4
    I have the following JavaScript object: { "DPI": "66.8213457076566", "width": "563.341067", "editable": "True", "pricecat": "6", "numpages": "2", "height": "400", "page": [{ "filename": "999_9_1.jpg", "line": [{ "test": "test 1", lineid: 22 }, { "test": "test 2", lineid: 22 }, { "test": "test 3", lineid: 22 }, { "test": "test 4", lineid: 22 }, { "test": "blank", lineid: 22 }] }, { "filename": "999_9_2.jpg", "line": [] }] } I can do most things with lines like measurements.page[0].line[0].lineid; But what I am really stuck with is when I want to edit a specific line but I only have the lineid value available (for example 22) and not the line number in the array: measurements.page[0].line[WHAT DO I PUT HERE].test = "new changed value";

  • Refer to te current directory in a shell script

    - by One Two Three
    How do I refer to the current directory in a shell script So I have this script which calls another script in the same directory #! /bin/sh #Call the other script ./foo.sh # do something ... For this I got ./foo.sh: No such file or directory So I changed it to: #! /bin/sh #Call the other script foo.sh # do something ... But this would call the foo script which is, by default, in the PATH. This is not what I want. So the question is, what's the syntax of doing './` in a shell script?

  • Should client-server code be written in one "project" or two?

    - by Ricket
    I've been beginning a client-server application. At first I naturally created two projects in Eclipse, two source control repositories, etc. But I'm quickly seeing that there is a bit of shared code between the two that would probably benefit to sharing instead of copying. In addition, I've been learning and trying test-driven development, and it seems to me that it would be easier to test based on real client components rather than having to set up a huge amount of code just to mock something, when the code is probably mostly in the client. My biggest concern in merging the client and server is of security; how do I ensure that the server pieces of the code do not reach an user's computer? So especially if you are writing client-server applications yourself (and especially in Java, though this can turn into a language-agnostic question if you'd like to share your experience with this in other languages), what sort of separation do you keep between your client and server code? Are they just in different packages/namespaces or completely different binaries using shared libraries, or something else entirely? How do you test the code together and yet ship separately?

  • How to insert into two different tables in one statement with Java and MySQL?

    - by MalcomTucker
    I am using Java, Spring (NamedParameterJdbcTemplate) and MySQL. My statement looks like this: INSERT INTO Table1 (Name) VALUES (?); INSERT INTO Table2 (Path, Table1Id) VALUES (?, LAST_INSERT_ID()) But it is throwing the following error: PreparedStatementCallback; bad SQL grammar [INSERT INTO Table1 (Name) VALUES (?); INSERT INTO Table2 (Path, Table1Id) VALUES (?, LAST_INSERT_ID())] ` Nested exception is: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'INSERT INTO Table2 (Path, Table1Id' at line 1 The syntax works fine in MySQL but something is up when combining via the Spring template. Thanks!

  • Is there a way to validates_presence_of only one time? (to skip that validation once the user's been

    - by GoodGets
    So, I'd like for a user to see an error message if he submits a comment and the :name is blank (typical error message, don't need help with that). However, I'd then like to allow the user to skip that validation once he's been notified that "we like all comments to have a name." So, he submits the comment once, sees the notification, then can submit the form again unchanged if he really doesn't want to add a name, and the validates_presences_of :name is skipped. But, I'm not sure how to go about doing this. I thought about checking to see where the request is coming from, but after a create, errors are handed off to the "new" action, which is the same as actual "new" comments. I then thought about checking to see if flash[errors] were present, but that won't work because there are other validations a comment has to pass. Finally, I thought about trying a validates_presences_of :name, :unless = :notified but wasn't sure how to define notified. I honestly hate asking such an open ended question, but wasn't sure where to get started. So, is there a way to just check a certain validation once?

  • C++ Class Inheritance architecture - preventing casting

    - by Some One
    I have a structure of base class and a couple of inherited classed. Base class should be pure virtual class, it should prevent instantiation. Inherited classes can be instantiated. Code example below: class BaseClass { public: BaseClass(void); virtual ~BaseClass(void) = 0; }; class InheritedClass : public BaseClass { public: InheritedClass1(void); ~InheritedClass1(void); }; class DifferentInheritedClass : public BaseClass { public: DifferentInheritedClass(void); ~DifferentInheritedClass(void); }; I want to prevent the following operations to happen: InheritedClass *inherited1 = new InheritedClass(); DifferentInheritedClass *inherited2 = new DifferentInheritedClass (); BaseClass *base_1 = inherited1; BaseClass *base_2 = inherited2; *base_1 = *base_2;

  • Is it valid to have more than one question mark in a URL?

    - by Bungle
    I came across the following URL today: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/inmarin/detail??blogid=122&entry_id=64497 Notice the doubled question mark at the beginning of the query string: ??blogid=122&entry_id=64497 My browser didn't seem to have any trouble with it, and running a quick bookmarklet: javascript:alert(document.location.search); just gave me the query string shown above. Is this a valid URL? The reason I'm being so pedantic (assuming that I am) is because I need to parse URLs like this for query parameters, and supporting doubled question marks would require some changes to my code. Obviously if they're in the wild, I'll need to support them; I'm mainly curious if it's my fault for not adhering to URL standards exactly, or if it's in fact a non-standard URL.

  • Reload external javascript after asynchronous postback via UpdatePanel

    - by Protector one
    I have an external javascript on my page, e.g. something like: <script src="http://foo.com/script.js" type="text/javascript"></script> and an UpdatePanel somewhere. The script writes some content, and does this from within an anonymous javascript function in the js file. I.e., there is something like this in the script: (function(){document.write('content');})(); Whenever the UpdatePanel is updated through asynchronous postback, everything the script did (or any javascript on my page, for that matter) is made undone. For normal javascript, I would just use: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_endRequest(myFunction) to redo all that, but since the function in the script source file is anonymous and called upon definition, I'm SOL! Any ideas? Note: the external js source is from another domain and its content is out of my control.

  • What should be the image resolution for Nexus One or Droid?

    - by sunil
    Hi, As Android supports multiple devices from different manufacturers there are different screen resolutions supported. The table that is available at http://developer.android.com/intl/fr/guide/practices/screens_support.... is not very clear to me. It shows WVGA and FWVGA in MDPI for Large Screens and HDPI for Normal screens. So, if the image is kept in drawable-mdpi and its resolution is 320 * 480 then which image will be taken by Large Screens device of MDPI. Moreover, there are two screen resolutions for HDPI i.e. 480 * 800 and 480 * 854. So, with what screen resolution the image should be built. I want to place the background image which looks distorted in WVGA emulator since its resolution is 320 * 480. I have read about nine patchable images but I think they are better for button images and edittext images so that they can stretch according to the data in it. Can someone please guide me in this? Regards Sunil

  • WordPress > Activating plugin makes site go blank in one theme, not in another. Generated source ide

    - by Scott B
    Strangest thing. When I activate this specific plugin, the public side of the site goes blank (nothing but a white screen with blank view source). However, when I test the site with the wordpress default theme, the plugin does not conflict and the site works fine. The interesting thing is that I've compared the generated source (using FF's webmaster tools) with and without plugin activated and in each case they are identical. This led me to believe that perhaps the plugin was altering htaccess, however, that file is the same whether or not the plugin is active or not. How can I find out what is causing the problem with this plugin? The plugin is called "Crawl Rate Tracker".

  • Interview question: Check if one string is a rotation of other string.

    - by Webdev
    A friend of mine was asked the following question today at interview for the position of software developer. Given two string s1 and s2 how will you check if s1 is a rotated version of s2 ? Example: if s1 = "stackoverflow"; then the following are some of its rotated versions: "tackoverflows" "ackoverflowst" "overflowstack" where as "stackoverflwo" is not a rotated version. The answer he gave was: Take s2 and find the logest prefix that is a substring of s1, that will give you the point of rotation. Once you find that point, break s2 at that point to get s2a and s2b, then just check if concatenate(s2a,s2b) == s1 It looks like a good solution to me and my friend. But the interviewr though otherwise. He asked for a simpler solution. Please help me by telling how would you do this in Java/C/C++ ? Thanks in advance.

  • Rails: Easy way to add more than one flash[:notice] at a time.

    - by Josh Pinter
    I thought every time you do a flash[:notice]="Message" it would add it to the array which would then get displayed during the view but the following just keeps the last flash: flash[:notice] = "Message 1" flash[:notice] = "Message 2" Now I realize it's just a simple hash with a key (I think :)) but is there a better way to do multiple flashes than the following: flash[:notice] = "Message 1<br />" flash[:notice] = "Message 2" Thanks. Josh
