  • Dynamics AX 2009 Report: LabelPosition above does not work?

    - by Sam
    I'm just in the process of changing the SalesInvoice Report. One thing I'm trying to do is show the label of some items not left of the item value but above it instead. Seems easy enough: just change the LabelPosition (for example from CustInvoiceJour_InvoiceId) setting from "left" to "above" and voila: the label has vanished. It is just shown nowhere at all. Strange. I would have expected the label to show up, well, above the content. Not to vanish. Am I missing something (there is no label height to set), or is this functionality broken?

  • Design to distribute work when generating task oriented input for legacy dos application?

    - by TheDeeno
    I'm attempting to automate a really old dos application. I've decided the best way to do this is via input redirection. The legacy app (menu driven) has many tasks within tasks with branching logic. In order to easily understand and reuse the input for these tasks, I'd like to break them into bit size pieces. Since I'll need to start a fresh app on each run, repeating a context to consume a bit might be messy. I'd like to create an object model that: allows me to concentrate on the task at hand allows me to reuse common tasks from different start points prevents me from calling a task from the wrong start point To be more explicit, given I have the following task hierarchy: START A A1 A1a A1b A2 A2a B B1 B1a I'd like an object model that lets me generate an input file for task "A1b" buy using building blocks like: START -> do_A, do_A1, do_A1b but prevents me from: START -> do_A1 // because I'm assuming a different call chain from above This will help me write "do_A1b" because I can always assume the same starting context and will simplify writing "do_A1a" because it has THE SAME starting context. What patterns will help me out here? I'm using ruby at the moment so if dynamic language features can help, I'm game.

  • Why wouldn't a flex remoteobject work within a custom component?

    - by Gary
    Please enlighten this flex noob. I have a remoteobject within my main.mxml. I can call a function on the service from an init() function on my main.mxml, and my java debugger triggers a breakpoint. When I move the remoteobject declaration and function call into a custom component (that is declared within main.mxml), the remote function on java-side no longer gets called, no breakpoints triggered, no errors, silence. How could this be? No spelling errors, or anything like that. mxml code: &ltmx:RemoteObject id="myService" destination="remoteService" endpoint="$(Application.application.home}/messagebroker/amf" &gt &lt/mx:RemoteObject%gt function call is just 'myService.getlist();' when I move it to a custom component, I import mx.core.Application; so the compiler doesn't yell

  • How can I convert this C Calendaer Code into a Objective-C syntax and have it work with matrixes

    - by Alec Niemy
    #define TRUE 1 #define FALSE 0 int days_in_month[]={0,31,28,31,30,31,30,31,31,30,31,30,31}; char *months[]= { " ", "\n\n\nJanuary", "\n\n\nFebruary", "\n\n\nMarch", "\n\n\nApril", "\n\n\nMay", "\n\n\nJune", "\n\n\nJuly", "\n\n\nAugust", "\n\n\nSeptember", "\n\n\nOctober", "\n\n\nNovember", "\n\n\nDecember" }; int inputyear(void) { int year; printf("Please enter a year (example: 1999) : "); scanf("%d", &year); return year; } int determinedaycode(int year) { int daycode; int d1, d2, d3; d1 = (year - 1.)/ 4.0; d2 = (year - 1.)/ 100.; d3 = (year - 1.)/ 400.; daycode = (year + d1 - d2 + d3) %7; return daycode; } int determineleapyear(int year) { if(year% 4 == FALSE && year%100 != FALSE || year%400 == FALSE) { days_in_month[2] = 29; return TRUE; } else { days_in_month[2] = 28; return FALSE; } } void calendar(int year, int daycode) { int month, day; for ( month = 1; month <= 12; month++ ) { printf("%s", months[month]); printf("\n\nSun Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri Sat\n" ); // Correct the position for the first date for ( day = 1; day <= 1 + daycode * 5; day++ ) { printf(" "); } // Print all the dates for one month for ( day = 1; day <= days_in_month[month]; day++ ) { printf("%2d", day ); // Is day before Sat? Else start next line Sun. if ( ( day + daycode ) % 7 > 0 ) printf(" " ); else printf("\n " ); } // Set position for next month daycode = ( daycode + days_in_month[month] ) % 7; } } int main(void) { int year, daycode, leapyear; year = inputyear(); daycode = determinedaycode(year); determineleapyear(year); calendar(year, daycode); printf("\n"); } This code generates a calendar of the inputed year in the terminal. my question is how can i convert this into a Objective-C syntax instead of this C syntax. im sure this is simple process but im quite of a novice to objective - c and i need it for a cocoa project. this code outputs the calendar as a continuously series of strings until the last month hits. soo instead of creating the calendar in the terminal how can i input the calendar a series of NSMatrixes depend on the inputed year. hope somone can help me with this thanks or every helps (you be in the credits of the finished program) :) (the calendar is just a small part of the program i making and it is one of the important parts!!)

  • Simulating mouse clicks on Mac OSX does not work for some applications.

    - by Thomi
    Hi, I'm writing an App for Mac OSX 10.6 and later in C++. One part of theapp needs to simulate mouse movement and mouse clicks. I do this currently by posting CGEvent objects using CGEventPost(kCGHIDEventTap, event);. This works, for the msot part - I can simulate mouse movement and clicks just fine, but it seems to fail in some areas. For example: In Mozilla firefox & Safari, I can click on all the menus, but cannot click on a link within a website. When I try, the link is highlighted, but the browser never follows the link. However, I can right-click on a link, select "open link in new tab", and everything works as expected. I can click on the "Dashboard" icon to brink up the dashboard, but I cannot click on the "i" button on any of the dashboard widgets. This inconsistency is along application boundaries - Does anyone have any idea what the cause might be?

  • Django's self.client.login(...) does not work in unit tests

    - by thebossman
    I have created users for my unit tests in two ways: 1) Create a fixture for "auth.user" that looks roughly like this: { "pk": 1, "model": "auth.user", "fields": { "username": "homer", "is_active": 1, "password": "sha1$72cd3$4935449e2cd7efb8b3723fb9958fe3bb100a30f2", ... } } I've left out the seemingly unimportant parts. 2) Use 'create_user' in the setUp function (although I'd rather keep everything in my fixtures class): def setUp(self): User.objects.create_user('homer', '[email protected]', 'simpson') Note that the password is simpson in both cases. I've verified that this info is correctly being loaded into the test database time and time again. I can grab the User object using User.objects.get. I can verify the password is correct using 'check_password.' The user is active. Yet, invariably, self.client.login(username='homer', password='simpson') FAILS. I'm baffled as to why. I think I've read every single Internet discussion pertaining to this. Can anybody help? The login code in my unit test looks like this: login = self.client.login(username='homer', password='simpson') self.assertTrue(login) Thanks.

  • How do you configure jax-ws to work with Spring using jax-ws commons?

  • How does versioning work when using Boost Serialization for Derived Classes?

    - by Venkata Adusumilli
    When a Client serializes the following data: InternationalStudent student; student.id("Client ID"); student.firstName("Client First Name"); student.country("Client Country"); the Server receives the following: ID = "Client ID" Country = "Client First Name" instead of the following: ID = "Client ID" Country = "Client Country" The only difference between the Server and Client classes is the First Name of the Student. How can we make the Server ignore First Name recieved from the Client and process the Country? • how to work with strings and integers as bit strings in python?

    - by Manuel
    Hello! I'm developing a Genetic Algorithm in python were chromosomes are composed of strings and integers. To apply the genetic operations, I want to convert these groups of integers and strings into bit strings. For example, if one chromosome is: ["Hello", 4, "anotherString"] I'd like it to become something like: 0100100100101001010011110011 (this is not actual translation). So... How can I do this? Chromosomes will contain the same amount of strings and integers, but this numbers can vary from one algorithm run to another. To be clear, what I want to obtain is the bit representation of each element in the chromosome concatenated. If you think this would not be the best way to apply genetic operators (such as mutation and simple crossover) just tell me! I'm open to new ideas. Thanks a lot! Manuel

  • JavaScript accordion effect won't work, something to do with pseudoclass?

    - by Dennis Hodapp
    I tried to make an accordion effect with JavaScript based off this video altering a few things like using an input button instead of a link for the selector. However for some reason it's not working. Firefox error console outputs unkown pseudo-class or pseudo-element "visible" everytime I try to use it. What's the problem? $("div.example").hide(); $("input.exampleButton").click(function(){ $("div.example:visible").slideUp("slow"); $(this).parent().next().slideDown("slow"); //return false; if you don't want the link to follow }); Here is the HTML input type="button" value="See An Example" class="exampleButton" /> <div class="example"> ...content </div> input type="button" value="See An Example" class="exampleButton" /> <div class="example"> ...content </div>

  • UITableView and UITableCellView, how does this work with core plot ?

    - by Luc
    Hello, I'm very new to iPhone programming, and I'm currently following tutos to understand the whole thing. I've been able to do what I needed (retrive data from a JSON http server, parse them with YAJL and plot the data in core plot). I have done this in a "simple" view where I have added a UILayerHostingView as requested by core-plot. I am now trying to follow this tuto: http://blogs.remobjects.com/blogs/mh/2010/01/26/p973 but I am missing the first part regarding the views... My understanding is that I need to create a view with a UITableView first. Then add a UITableCellView to make the first cell be able to contain the graph ? Is this right ? Where does the method "(id)initWithStyle:(UITableViewCellStyle)style" come from ? For my needs, only the first cell needs to contain a graph, I will put some other info in the other cells. As for now, I have created a new GraphListViewController, in the corresponding view I have added a listview but I do not see any auto generated methods regading cell customisation ? Do I need to implements DataSource in this controller and manually add some customisation methods ? Do I need to add a UITagbleViewCell to this UITableViewTable within IB ? Hope I am not getting to confusing... Thanks a lot for your help, Best Regards, Luc

  • How do laziness and I/O work together in Haskell?

    - by Bill
    I'm trying to get a deeper understanding of laziness in Haskell. I was imagining the following snippet today: data Image = Image { name :: String, pixels :: String } image :: String -> IO Image image path = Image path <$> readFile path The appeal here is that I could simply create an Image instance and pass it around; if I need the image data it would be read lazily - if not, the time and memory cost of reading the file would be avoided: main = do image <- image "file" putStrLn $ length $ pixels image But is that how it actually works? How is laziness compatible with IO? Will readFile be called regardless of whether I access pixels image or will the runtime leave that thunk unevaluated if I never refer to it? If the image is indeed read lazily, then isn't it possible I/O actions could occur out of order? For example, what if immediately after calling image I delete the file? Now the putStrLn call will find nothing when it tries to read.

  • How can I get this dynamic WHERE statement in my LINQ-to-XML to work?

    - by Edward Tanguay
    In this question Jon Skeet offered a very interesting solution to making a LINQ-to-XML statement dynamic, but my knowledge of lambdas and delegates is not yet advanced enough to implement it: I've got it this far, but of course I get the error "smartForm does not exist in the current context": private void LoadWithId(int id) { XDocument xmlDoc = null; try { xmlDoc = XDocument.Load(FullXmlDataStorePathAndFileName); } catch (Exception ex) { throw new Exception(String.Format("Cannot load XML file: {0}", ex.Message)); } Func<XElement, bool> whereClause = (int)smartForm.Element("id") == id"; var smartForms = xmlDoc.Descendants("smartForm") .Where(whereClause) .Select(smartForm => new SmartForm { Id = (int)smartForm.Element("id"), WhenCreated = (DateTime)smartForm.Element("whenCreated"), ItemOwner = smartForm.Element("itemOwner").Value, PublishStatus = smartForm.Element("publishStatus").Value, CorrectionOfId = (int)smartForm.Element("correctionOfId"), IdCode = smartForm.Element("idCode").Value, Title = smartForm.Element("title").Value, Description = smartForm.Element("description").Value, LabelWidth = (int)smartForm.Element("labelWidth") }); foreach (SmartForm smartForm in smartForms) { _collection.Add(smartForm); } } Ideally I want to be able to just say: var smartForms = GetSmartForms(smartForm=> (int) smartForm.Element("DisplayOrder").Value > 50); I've got it this far, but I'm just not grokking the lambda magic, how do I do this? public List<SmartForm> GetSmartForms(XDocument xmlDoc, XElement whereClause) { var smartForms = xmlDoc.Descendants("smartForm") .Where(whereClause) .Select(smartForm => new SmartForm { Id = (int)smartForm.Element("id"), WhenCreated = (DateTime)smartForm.Element("whenCreated"), ItemOwner = smartForm.Element("itemOwner").Value, PublishStatus = smartForm.Element("publishStatus").Value, CorrectionOfId = (int)smartForm.Element("correctionOfId"), IdCode = smartForm.Element("idCode").Value, Title = smartForm.Element("title").Value, Description = smartForm.Element("description").Value, LabelWidth = (int)smartForm.Element("labelWidth") }); }

  • Eclipse (STS), Maven and maven-minify-plugin, can they work together?

    - by CodeReaper
    Hi, I am working on a project where I am in charge of html, css and javascript. I found this maven-minify-plugin that seemed to just what I wanted. Everything is good when I deploy using maven on the server, but when I am using Eclipse (STS, www.springsource.com/products/sts) to run the project on localhost no css nor js file is generated by the plugin. Does anyone have experience with this Maven plugin, so they can tell me if it should be possible or not run on localhost? Does anyone have knowledge of another plugin I can use to (combine and) minify javascript and css files when running on localhost in Eclipse and also when deploying using Maven? Any help appreciated... ----extra information---- I basicly just copied in what it said on the plugin webpage, so I have these bits in my pom.xml: .... <build> <plugins> .... <plugin> <groupId>com.samaxes.maven</groupId> <artifactId>maven-minify-plugin</artifactId> <version>1.1</version> <executions> <execution> <id>default-minify</id> <phase>process-resources</phase> <configuration> <cssFiles> .... <param>forms.css</param> <param>jquery.droppy.css</param> <param>jquery.jgrowl.css</param> </cssFiles> <jsFiles> .... <param>jquery.droppy.js</param> <param>jquery.jgrowl.js</param> </jsFiles> <jsFinalFile>script.js</jsFinalFile> <linebreak>-1</linebreak> <nomunge>false</nomunge> <verbose>false</verbose> <preserveAllSemiColons>false</preserveAllSemiColons> <disableOptimizations>false</disableOptimizations> <bufferSize>4096</bufferSize> </configuration> <goals> <goal>minify</goal> </goals> </execution> </executions> </plugin> </plugins> </build> .... Should/Can I bind the plugin to a difference phase? I just use mvn clean package and move the snapshot into tomcat to deploy on the server. I am unsure on how to explain how I run the webapp on localhost, but here goes. I have a vanilia tomcat, that I defined as a server in Eclipse and then defined that the webapp should always build in that "server".

  • How to get this Qt state machine to work?

    - by Ton van den Heuvel
    I have two widgets that can be checked, and a numeric entry field that should contain a value greater than zero. Whenever both widgets have been checked, and the numeric entry field contains a value greater than zero, a button should be enabled. I am struggling with defining a proper state machine for this situation. So far I have the following: QStateMachine *machine = new QStateMachine(this); QState *buttonDisabled = new QState(QState::ParallelStates); buttonDisabled->assignProperty(ui_->button, "enabled", false); QState *a = new QState(buttonDisabled); QState *aUnchecked = new QState(a); QFinalState *aChecked = new QFinalState(a); aUnchecked->addTransition(wa, SIGNAL(checked()), aChecked); a->setInitialState(aUnchecked); QState *b = new QState(buttonDisabled); QState *bUnchecked = new QState(b); QFinalState *bChecked = new QFinalState(b); employeeUnchecked->addTransition(wb, SIGNAL(checked()), bChecked); b->setInitialState(bUnchecked); QState *weight = new QState(registerButtonDisabled); QState *weightZero = new QState(weight); QFinalState *weightGreaterThanZero = new QFinalState(weight); weightZero->addTransition(this, SIGNAL(validWeight()), weightGreaterThanZero); weight->setInitialState(weightZero); QState *buttonEnabled = new QState(); buttonEnabled->assignProperty(ui_->registerButton, "enabled", true); buttonDisabled->addTransition(buttonDisabled, SIGNAL(finished()), buttonEnabled); buttonEnabled->addTransition(this, SIGNAL(invalidWeight()), weightZero); machine->addState(registerButtonDisabled); machine->addState(registerButtonEnabled); machine->setInitialState(registerButtonDisabled); machine->start(); The problem here is that the following transition: buttonEnabled->addTransition(this, SIGNAL(invalidWeight()), weightZero); causes all the child states in the registerButtonDisabled state to be reverted to their initial state. This is unwanted behaviour, as I want the a and b states to remain in the same state. How do I prevent this?

  • How do I make my multicast program work between computers on different networks?

    - by George
    I made a little chat applet using multicast. It works fine between computers on the same network, but fails if the computers are on different networks. Why is this? import java.io.*; import java.net.*; import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; import javax.swing.*; public class ClientA extends JApplet implements ActionListener, Runnable { JTextField tf; JTextArea ta; MulticastSocket socket; InetAddress group; String name=""; public void start() { try { socket = new MulticastSocket(7777); group = InetAddress.getByName("233.0.0.1"); socket.joinGroup(group); socket.setTimeToLive(255); Thread th = new Thread(this); th.start(); name =JOptionPane.showInputDialog(null,"Please enter your name.","What is your name?",JOptionPane.PLAIN_MESSAGE); tf.grabFocus(); }catch(Exception e) {e.printStackTrace();} } public void init() { JPanel p = new JPanel(new BorderLayout()); ta = new JTextArea(); ta.setEditable(false); ta.setLineWrap(true); JScrollPane sp = new JScrollPane(ta); p.add(sp,BorderLayout.CENTER); JPanel p2 = new JPanel(); tf = new JTextField(30); tf.addActionListener(this); p2.add(tf); JButton b = new JButton("Send"); b.addActionListener(this); p2.add(b); p.add(p2,BorderLayout.SOUTH); add(p); } public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent ae) { String message = name+":"+tf.getText(); tf.setText(""); tf.grabFocus(); byte[] buf = message.getBytes(); DatagramPacket packet = new DatagramPacket(buf,buf.length, group,7777); try { socket.send(packet); } catch(Exception e) {} } public void run() { while(true) { byte[] buf = new byte[256]; String received = ""; DatagramPacket packet = new DatagramPacket(buf, buf.length); try { socket.receive(packet); received = new String(packet.getData()).trim(); } catch(Exception e) {} ta.append(received +"\n"); ta.setCaretPosition(ta.getDocument().getLength()); } } }
