  • How do I get Gmail to start on my second desktop window?

    I've got the Compiz Place Windows plugin working for most of my apps, but I can't get Gmail to open on a specified desktop window/viewport. Under CompizConfig Settings Manager Place Windows Fixed Window Placement Windows with fixed viewport, I have class=Pidgin, x=2, y=1, and that works fine, but I can't get Gmail to place properly. I've tried class=Prism, title=Gmail, title=gmail ... The Gmail Prism config is from the prism-google-mail 1.0b3+svn20100210r62050-0ubuntu2 package. Any ideas?

  • What are the app file size limitations for different smartphone OSes & carriers?

    I know the iPhone App Store limits how large an app can be in general and there are also limitations with AT&T over the size it can be to transmit over a data plan vs WiFi. I have no idea what, if any, these limits are for Android apps and what I'm finding online is a mix of different numbers. Does anyone know these numbers definitively? The Android game I'm porting is in the 20-30MB range and we'd like to know if we need to further reduce its size.

    Unity is misbehaving after installing GLX Dock - HUD does not open with GLX Dock turned off and there are ugly shadows in the panel,three control buttons (close,minimise,maximise) and "Ubuntu Desktop" label when there are no apps running.I have to click the top panel to get the super key to open the dash. I have tried unity --reset and unity --replace commands ,but they do not help. Can I un-install and re-install Unity?

    I have the domain http://dropbox.tombrito.com/ (on GoDaddy) forwarding with masking to www.dropbox.com/sh/k6ypvx4y4kf0gu6/rdjxQ1b1OL It was working fine some time ago, but now the result is a blank page (although the Dropbox's favicon appears correctly in the browser's tab title). The main problem is that I do not have gconf-editor and even if I install it, I don't have an "/apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop" option to uncheck to finish whole quite known compiz tweak.   • Can't boot from usb after a few successful boots

    I have ubuntu 11.10 on my usb flash maxell (4 gb) i installed it with universal usb installer and in the beginning everything worked just fine. I installed a few apps (skype, audations, vlc, codecs and a web camera app) it continued to works. but since yesterday it doesn't boot it shows me the operating system loading screen (ubuntu with the dots turning orange and white) and nothing more... please if anyone can help?
