  • Forcing A Postback Asp.Net

    - by Nick LaMarca
    Please take a look at the following click event... Protected Sub btnDownloadEmpl_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnDownloadEmpl.Click Dim emplTable As DataTable = SiteAccess.DownloadEmployee_H() Dim d As String = Format(Date.Now, "d") Dim ad() As String = d.Split("/") Dim fd As String = ad(0) & ad(1) Dim fn As String = "E_" & fd & ".csv" Response.ContentType = "text/csv" Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" & fn) CreateCSVFile(emplTable, Response.Output) Response.Flush() Response.End() lblEmpl.Visible = True End Sub This code simply exports data from a datatable to a csv file. The problem here is lblEmpl.Visible=true never gets hit because this code doesnt cause a postback to the server. Even if I put the line of code lblEmpl.Visible=true at the top of the click event the line executes fine, but the page is never updated. How can I fix this?

  • Android Out of memory regarding png image

    - by turtleboy
    I have a jpg image in my app that shows correctly. In my listview i'd like to make the image more transparent so it is easier to see the text. I changed the image to a png format and altered it's opacity in GIMP. Now that the new image is in the app drawable folder. Im getting the following error. why? 09-28 09:24:07.560: I/global(20140): call socket shutdown, tmpsocket=Socket[address=/178.250.50.40,port=80,localPort=35172] 09-28 09:24:07.570: I/global(20140): • How to select the range for pasting using vba

    - by user1616384
    I wrote some code for selecting the particular row and pasting it in column wise using paste-special property. It is working correctly my code is : lngRow = Me.TextBox4.Value strCol = Me.TextBox5.Value Set rng = Range("A:A").Find(What:=lngRow, LookIn:=xlValues, LookAt:=xlWhole) If rng Is Nothing Then MsgBox "Value not found in row 1", vbExclamation Else Range(rng, rng.End(xlToRight)).Copy Range("A1:E3").Columns(strCol).Offset(, 1).PasteSpecial Transpose:=True Range("A1:E3").Rows(1).Copy Range("A1:E3").Columns(strCol).PasteSpecial Transpose:=True endif the problem here is I am using Range(rng, rng.End(xlToRight)).Copy to copy the values and for pasting I am using Range("A1:E3").Columns(strCol).Offset(, 1).PasteSpecial Transpose:=True. How can I paste all the values which are copied? Because if the values are in column F then this macro will not paste those values.

  • Clean way in GWT/Java to wait for multiple asynchronous events to finish

    - by gerdemb
    What is the best way to wait for multiple asynchronous callback functions to finish in Java before continuing. Specifically I'm using GWT with AsyncCallback, but I think this is a generic problem. Here's what I have now, but surely there is cleaner way... AjaxLoader.loadApi("books", "0", new Runnable(){ public void run() { bookAPIAvailable = true; ready(); }}, null); AjaxLoader.loadApi("search", "1", new Runnable(){ public void run() { searchAPIAvailable = true; ready(); }}, null); loginService.login(GWT.getHostPageBaseURL(), new AsyncCallback<LoginInfo>() { public void onSuccess(LoginInfo result) { appLoaded = true; ready(); } }); private void ready() { if(bookAPIAvailable && searchAPIAvailable && appLoaded) { // Everything loaded } }

  • pass custom environment variables to System.Diagnostics.Process

    - by Mike Ruhlin
    I'm working on an app that invokes external processes like so: ProcessStartInfo startInfo = new ProcessStartInfo(PathToExecutable, Arguments){ ErrorDialog = false, RedirectStandardError = true, RedirectStandardOutput = true, UseShellExecute = false, CreateNoWindow = true, WorkingDirectory = WorkingDirectory }; using (Process process = new Process()) { process.StartInfo = startInfo; process.Start(); process.BeginErrorReadLine(); process.BeginOutputReadLine(); process.WaitForExit(); return process.ExitCode; } One of the processes I'm calling depends on an environment variable that I'd rather not require my users to set. Is there any way to modify the environment variables that get sent to the external process? Ideally I'd be able to make them visible only to the process that's running, but if I have to programmatically set them system-wide, I'll settle for that (but, would UAC force me to run as administrator to do that?) ProcessStartInfo.EnvironmentVariables is read only, so a lot of help that is...

  • Many-to-many relationship on same table with association object

    - by Nicholas Knight
    Related (for the no-association-object use case): http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1889251/sqlalchemy-many-to-many-relationship-on-a-single-table Building a many-to-many relationship is easy. Building a many-to-many relationship on the same table is almost as easy, as documented in the above question. Building a many-to-many relationship with an association object is also easy. What I can't seem to find is the right way to combine association objects and many-to-many relationships with the left and right sides being the same table. So, starting from the simple, naïve, and clearly wrong version that I've spent forever trying to massage into the right version: t_groups = Table('groups', metadata, Column('id', Integer, primary_key=True), ) t_group_groups = Table('group_groups', metadata, Column('parent_group_id', Integer, ForeignKey('groups.id'), primary_key=True, nullable=False), Column('child_group_id', Integer, ForeignKey('groups.id'), primary_key=True, nullable=False), Column('expires', DateTime), ) mapper(Group_To_Group, t_group_groups, properties={ 'parent_group':relationship(Group), 'child_group':relationship(Group), }) What's the right way to map this relationship?

  • Using checkbox to enable eventlistener

    - by Lefty
    I have looked for a solution to this for days and days. The examples I found don't make sence to me, probably because I am both old and new (old to life and new to android/jave). I would like to add a checkbox to my preference activity that would either enable or disable receivers. This is for a service which will run in the background, at boot completed, and will depend on two things 1)is the preference true and 2) is wifi enabled. So it would work something like this; user turns on phone boot completed checks if receivers are enabled (set by checkboxpreference) if checkboxpreference is true - looks for wifi if wifi is true - registers receivers Also required would be if wifi or checkboxpreference goes "false", unregister receivers. Thanks

  • How do I combine similar method calls into a delegate pattern?

    - by Daniel T.
    I have three methods: public void Save<T>(T entity) { using (new Transaction()) { Session.Save(entity); } } public void Create<T>(T entity) { using (new Transaction()) { Session.Create(entity); } } public void Delete<T>(T entity) { using (new Transaction()) { Session.Delete(entity); } } As you can see, the only thing that differs is the method call inside the using block. How can I rewrite this so it's something like this instead: public void Save<T>(T entity) { TransactionWrapper(Session.Save(entity)); } public void Create<T>(T entity) { TransactionWrapper(Session.Create(entity)); } public void Save<T>(T entity) { TransactionWrapper(Session.Save(entity)); } So in other words, I pass a method call as a parameter, and the TransactionWrapper method wraps a transaction around the method call.

  • Selenium selected option in dropdown not displayed correctly

    - by luckyfool
    I have the following issue with Selenium Webdriver. There are two dropdown menus on a page i am testing "brand" and "items". The options of "items" depend on which brand you choose. I am trying to iterate through all possible choices and print brand-item pairs. I use two possible ways to pick an option from each dropdown menu Using Select(): def retryingSelectOption(name,n): result=False attempts=0 while attempts<5: try: element=Select(driver.find_element_by_name(name)) element.select_by_index(n) print element.all_selected_options[0].text result=True break except StaleElementReferenceException: pass attempts+=1 return result And using .click(): def retryingClickOption(name,n): result=False attempts=0 while attempts<5: try: driver.find_element_by_name(name).find_elements_by_tag_name("option")[n].click() result=True break except StaleElementReferenceException: pass attempts+=1 return result My problem is that at ,what seem to me as random moments (sometimes it works sometimes it does not), even though the above functions return True and printing out the selected option shows me the correct answer, the browser still displays the previous option. So basically Selenium tells me i have picked the right option but the browser displays the previous one.No idea what is wrong.

  • PHP5: restrict access to function to certain classes

    - by Tim
    Is there a way in PHP5 to only allow a certain class or set of classes to call a particular function? For example, let's say I have three classes ("Foo", "Bar", and "Baz"), all with similarly-named methods, and I want Bar to be able to call Foo::foo() but deny Baz the ability to make that call: class Foo { static function foo() { print "foo"; } } class Bar { static function bar() { Foo::foo(); print "bar"; } // Should work } class Baz { static function baz() { Foo::foo; print "baz"; } // Should fail } Foo::foo(); // Should also fail There's not necessarily inheritance between Foo, Bar, and Baz, so the use of protected or similar modifiers won't help; however, the methods aren't necessarily static (I made them so here for the simplicity of the example).

  • How to do rolling balances in Linq2SQL

    - by David Liddle
    Given an account with a list of transactions I would like to output a query that shows each transaction with the rolling balance (just like you would see on an online banking account). TRANSACTIONS - ID - DATE - AMOUNT Here is what I created in T-SQL however was wondering if this can be translated to linq2sql code? select T.ID, convert(char(10), T.DATE, 101) as 'DATE', T.AMOUNT, (select sum(O.AMOUNT) from TRANSACTIONS O where O.DATE < T.DATE or (O.DATE = T.DATE and O.ID <= T.ID)) 'BALANCE' from TRANSACTIONS as T where T.DATE between @pStartDate and @pEndDate order by T.DATE, T.ID Alternatively I guess my other option is to just call a stored procedure for these kind of results. However, I have Services which call Repositories and didn't really want to put the sproc call in the Repository.

  • How can I catch a change event from an HTML text field when a user clicks on a link after editing?

    - by Eric the Red
    Our webapp has a form with fields and values that change depending on values entered. Each time there is a change event on one of the form elements, we use an expensive AJAX call to update other elements on the page. This works great for selects, radio buttons and checkboxes. The issue comes in when a user adds content to a text field, and then clicks a link without taking the focus from the text field. The browser moves to a new page, and the contents of the text field are never saved. Is there an easy way to code around this? The AJAX call is too expensive to call with each key press. Here's an example of my Prototype code at the moment: $$('.productOption input.text').invoke('observe', 'change', saveChangeEvent);

This is my code: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Threading; namespace FirePrime { class Program { static bool[] ThreadsFinished; static bool[] nums; static bool AllThreadsFinished() { bool allThreadsFinished = false; foreach (var threadFinished in ThreadsFinished) { allThreadsFinished &= threadFinished; } return allThreadsFinished; } static bool isPrime(int n) { if (n < 2) { return false; } if (n == 2) { return true; } if (n % 2 == 0) { return false; } int d = 3; while (d * d <= n) { if (n % d == 0) { return false; } d += 2; } return true; } static void MarkPrimes(int startNumber,int stopNumber,int ThreadNr) { for (int j = startNumber; j < stopNumber; j++) nums[j] = isPrime(j); lock (typeof(Program)) { ThreadsFinished[ThreadNr] = true; } } static void Main(string[] args) { int nrNums = 100; int nrThreads = 10; //var threadStartNums = new List<int>(); ThreadsFinished = new bool[nrThreads]; nums = new bool[nrNums]; //var nums = new List<bool>(); nums[0] = false; nums[1] = false; for(int i=2;i<nrNums;i++) nums[i] = true; int interval = (int)(nrNums / nrThreads); //threadStartNums.Add(2); //int aux = firstStartNum; //int i = 2; //while (aux < interval) //{ // aux = interval*i; // i=i+1; // threadStartNums.Add(aux); //} int startNum = 0; for (int i = 0; i < nrThreads; i++) { var _thread = new System.Threading.Thread(() => MarkPrimes(startNum, Math.Min(startNum + interval, nrNums), i)); startNum = startNum + interval; //set the thread to run in the background _thread.IsBackground = true; //start our thread _thread.Start(); } while (!AllThreadsFinished()) { Thread.Sleep(1); } for (int i = 0; i < nrNums; i++) if(nums[i]) Console.WriteLine(i); } } } This should be a pretty simple program that is supposed to find and output the first nrNums prime numbers using nrThreads threads working in parallel. So, I just split nrNums into nrThreads equal chunks (well, the last one won't be equal; if nrThreads doesn't divide by nrNums, it will also contain the remainder, of course). I start nrThreads threads. They all test each number in their respective chunk and see if it is prime or not; they mark everything out in a bool array that keeps a tab on all the primes. The threads all turn a specific element in another boolean array ThreadsFinished to true when they finish. Now the weird part begins: The threads never all end. If I debug, I find that ThreadNr is not what I assign to it in the loop but another value. I guess this is normal since the threads execute afterwards and the counter (the variable i) is already increased by then but I cannot understand how to make the code be right. Can anyone help? Thank you in advance. P.S.: I know the algorithm is not very efficient; I am aiming at a solution using the sieve of Eratosthenes also with x given threads. But for now I can't even get this one to work and I haven't found any examples of any implementations of that algorithm anywhere in a language that I can understand.

    it seems i have tried the mail config in the way that its docs said, but still i get: Error 500: Executing action [x] of controller [x] caused exception: Mail server connection failed; nested exception is javax.mail.MessagingException: Could not connect to SMTP I am using google apps for my email so [email protected] is using gmail. i cannot get grails to send out a test message on my dev box (win 7). my config is: host = "smtp.gmail.com" port = 465 username = "[email protected]" password = "x" props = ["mail.smtp.auth":"true", "mail.smtp.debug":"true", "mail.smtp.starttls.enable":"true", "mail.smtp.socketFactory.port":"465", "mail.smtp.socketFactory.class":"javax.net.ssl.SSLSocketFactory", "mail.smtp.socketFactory.fallback":"false"]

  • Finding if a string is an iterative substring?

    - by EsotericMe
    I have a string S. How can I find if the string follows S = nT. Examples: Function should return true if 1) S = "abab" 2) S = "abcdabcd" 3) S = "abcabcabc" 4) S = "zzxzzxzzx" But if S="abcb" returns false. I though maybe we can repeatedly call KMP on substrings of S and then decide. eg: for "abab": call on KMP on "a". it returns 2(two instances). now 2*len("a")!=len(s) call on KMP on "ab". it returns 2. now 2*len("ab")==len(s) so return true Can you suggest any better algorithms?

  • Junit Ant Task, output stack trace

    I have a number of tests failing in the following JUnit Task. <target name="test-main" depends="build.modules" description="Main Integration/Unit tests"> <junit fork="yes" description="Main Integration/Unit Tests" showoutput="true" printsummary="true" outputtoformatters="true"> <classpath refid="test-main.runtime.classpath"/> <batchtest filtertrace="false" todir="${basedir}"> <fileset dir="${basedir}" includes="**/*Test.class" excludes="**/*MapSimulationTest.class"/> </batchtest> </junit> </target> How do I tell Junit to ouput the errors for each test so that I can look at the stack trace and debug the issues.

  • Android ImageButton not firing the onclick event, what is wrong with my code?

    I have very simple code that includes ImageButton with OnClickListener that points to another Activity, the click on the ImageButton doesn't fire the onClick (The same problem was with Button) : public class ToolsActivity extends Activity { private ImageButton btnCamera; final Context context = ToolsActivity.this; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_tools); this.btnCamera = (ImageButton) findViewById(R.id.cameraButton); this.btnCamera.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { Intent intent = new Intent(context,MainActivity.class); startActivity(intent); } }); } @Override public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu) { getMenuInflater().inflate(R.menu.activity_tools, menu); return true; } XML: <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:paddingLeft="16dp" android:paddingRight="16dp" > <ImageButton android:id="@+id/cameraButton" android:layout_width="100dp" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" android:background="@drawable/btncamera" android:contentDescription="@string/desc" />

  • Fastest way to find the rotation of a vector

    - by kriss
    I have two 2D vectors, say u and v, defined by cartesian coordinates. Imagine that vectors are needles of a clock. I'm looking for the fastest way to find out, using python, if v is after or before u (or in other words find out in wich half plane is v, regarding to position of u). For the purpose of the problem if vectors are aligned answer should be before. It seems easy using some trigonometry, but I believe there should be a faster way using coordinates only. My test case: def after(u, v): """code here""" after((4,2), (6, 1)) : True after((4,2), (3, 3)) : False after((4,2), (2, 1)) : False after((4,2), (3, -3)) : True after((4,2), (-2, -5)) : True after((4,2), (-4, -2)) : False

  • iOS - Open an app with a URL Scheme from Chrome

    - by Brett
    I've read many many blogs and examples of how to open an app from an URL scheme (for example, this blog), and it seems to work great when I call my app from mobile safari. For instance, when I call testapp://some.data.here in mobile safari, it opens my testapp and I can parse out the some.data.here. However, when I call testapp://some.data.here in iOS-Chrome, it just googles the term instead of calling the app. Is there a way to have iOS Chrome recognize the URL as a registered app the way mobile safari does? When I google this topic, I see a lot of comments on how to open a url in chrome from an app, but not the other way around. Has anyone encountered this? Thanks!
