  • how to run/compile java code from JTextArea at Runtime? ----urgent!!! college project

    - by Lokesh Kumar
    I have a JInternalFrame painted with a BufferedImage and contained in the JDesktopPane of a JFrame.I also have a JTextArea where i want to write some java code (function) that takes the current JInternalFrame's painted BufferedImage as an input and after doing some manipulation on this input it returns another manipulated BufferedImage that paints the JInternalFrame with new manipulated Image again!!. Manipulation java code of JTextArea:- public BufferedImage customOperation(BufferedImage CurrentInputImg) { Color colOld; Color colNew; BufferedImage manipulated=new BufferedImage(CurrentInputImg.getWidth(),CurrentInputImg.getHeight(),BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_ARGB); //make all Red pixels of current image black for(int i=0;i< CurrentInputImg.getWidth();i++) { for(int j=0;j< CurrentInputImg.getHeight(),j++) { colOld=new Color(CurrentInputImg.getRGB(i,j)); colNew=new Color(0,colOld.getGreen(),colOld.getBlue(),colOld.getAlpha()); manipulated.setRGB(i,j,colNew.getRGB()); } } return manipulated; } so,how can i run/compile this JTextArea java code at runtime and get a new manipulated image for painting on JInternalFrame???????   Here is my Main class: (This class is not actual one but i have created it for u for basic interfacing containing JTextArea,JInternalFrame,Apply Button) import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; import javax.swing.*; import javax.swing.event.*; import javax.swing.JInternalFrame; import javax.swing.JDesktopPane; import java.awt.image.*; import javax.imageio.*; import java.io.*; import java.io.File; import java.util.*; class MyCustomOperationSystem extends JFrame **{** public JInternalFrame ImageFrame; public BufferedImage CurrenFrameImage; public MyCustomOperationSystem() **{** setTitle("My Custom Image Operations"); setSize((int)Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize().getWidth(),(int)Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize().getHeight()); JDesktopPane desktop=new JDesktopPane(); desktop.setPreferredSize(new Dimension((int)Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize().getWidth(),(int)Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize().getHeight())); try{ CurrenFrameImage=ImageIO.read(new File("c:/Lokesh.png")); }catch(Exception exp) { System.out.println("Error in Loading Image"); } ImageFrame=new JInternalFrame("Image Frame",true,true,false,true); ImageFrame.setMinimumSize(new Dimension(CurrenFrameImage.getWidth()+10,CurrenFrameImage.getHeight()+10)); ImageFrame.getContentPane().add(CreateImagePanel()); ImageFrame.setLayer(1); ImageFrame.setLocation(100,100); ImageFrame.setVisible(true); desktop.setOpaque(true); desktop.setBackground(Color.darkGray); desktop.add(ImageFrame); this.getContentPane().setLayout(new BorderLayout()); this.getContentPane().add("Center",desktop); this.getContentPane().add("South",ControlPanel()); pack(); setVisible(true); **}** public JPanel CreateImagePanel(){ JPanel tempPanel=new JPanel(){ public void paintComponent(Graphics g) { g.drawImage(CurrenFrameImage,0,0,this); } }; tempPanel.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(CurrenFrameImage.getWidth(),CurrenFrameImage.getHeight())); return tempPanel; } public JPanel ControlPanel(){ JPanel controlPan=new JPanel(new FlowLayout(FlowLayout.LEFT)); JButton customOP=new JButton("Custom Operation"); customOP.addActionListener(new ActionListener(){ public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evnt){ JFrame CodeFrame=new JFrame("Write your Code Here"); JTextArea codeArea=new JTextArea("Your Java Code Here",100,70); JScrollPane codeScrollPan=new JScrollPane(codeArea,ScrollPaneConstants.VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR_ALWAYS, ScrollPaneConstants.HORIZONTAL_SCROLLBAR_ALWAYS); CodeFrame.add(codeScrollPan); CodeFrame.setVisible(true); } }); JButton Apply=new JButton("Apply Code"); Apply.addActionListener(new ActionListener(){ public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent event){ // What should I do!!! Here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! } }); controlPan.add(customOP); controlPan.add(Apply); return controlPan; } public static void main(String s[]) { new MyCustomOperationSystem(); } } Note: in above class JInternalFrame (ImageFrame) is not visible even i have declared it visible. so, ImageFrame is not visible while compiling and running above class. U have to identify this problem before running it.

  • Adding data (not only text) to a multi column ListView (WPF)

    - by user811804
    I am working on a WPF application in C# (.NET 4.0) where I have a ListView with a GridView that has two columns. I dynamically want to add rows (in code). My dilemma is that only the first column will have regular text added to it. The second column will have an object that includes a multi column Grid with TextBlocks. (see link http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/803/listview.png/) If I do what you would normally do when you want to enter text in all columns (ie. DisplayMemberBinding) all I get in the second column is the text "System.Windows.Grid", which obviously isn't what I want. For reference if I just try to add the Grid object (with the TextBlocks) with the code listView1.Items.Add(grid1) (not using DisplayMemberBinding) the object gets added to the second column only (with the first column being blank) and not how it normally works with text where the same text ends up in all columns. I hope my question is detailed enough and any help with this would be much appreciated. EDIT: I have tried the following code, howeever every time I click the button to add a new row every single row gets updated with the same datatemplate. (ie. the second column always shows the same data on every row.) xaml: <Window x:Class="TEST.MainWindow" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Name="AAA" Title="MainWindow" Height="350" Width="525" Loaded="Window_Loaded"> <Grid Name="grid1"> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="374*" /> <ColumnDefinition Width="129*" /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Button Content="Button" Height="23" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="21,12,0,0" Name="button1" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="75" Grid.Column="1" Click="button1_Click" /> </Grid> code: public partial class MainWindow : Window { ListView listView1 = new ListView(); GridViewColumn viewCol2 = new GridViewColumn(); public MainWindow() { InitializeComponent(); Style style = new Style(typeof(ListViewItem)); style.Setters.Add(new Setter(ListViewItem.HorizontalContentAlignmentProperty, HorizontalAlignment.Stretch)); listView1.ItemContainerStyle = style; GridView gridView1 = new GridView(); listView1.View = gridView1; GridViewColumn viewCol1 = new GridViewColumn(); viewCol1.Header = "Option"; gridView1.Columns.Add(viewCol1); viewCol2.Header = "Value"; gridView1.Columns.Add(viewCol2); grid1.Children.Add(listView1); viewCol1.DisplayMemberBinding = new Binding("Option"); } private void Window_Loaded(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { } private void button1_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { DataTemplate dataTemplate = new DataTemplate(); FrameworkElementFactory spFactory = new FrameworkElementFactory(typeof(Grid)); Random random = new Random(); int cols = random.Next(1, 6); int full = 100; for (int i = 0; i < cols; i++) { FrameworkElementFactory col1 = new FrameworkElementFactory(typeof(ColumnDefinition)); int partWidth = random.Next(0, full); full -= partWidth; col1.SetValue(ColumnDefinition.WidthProperty, new GridLength(partWidth, GridUnitType.Star)); spFactory.AppendChild(col1); } if (full > 0) { FrameworkElementFactory col1 = new FrameworkElementFactory(typeof(ColumnDefinition)); col1.SetValue(ColumnDefinition.WidthProperty, new GridLength(full, GridUnitType.Star)); spFactory.AppendChild(col1); } for (int i = 0; i < cols; i++) { FrameworkElementFactory text1 = new FrameworkElementFactory(typeof(TextBlock)); SolidColorBrush sb1 = new SolidColorBrush(); switch (i) { case 0: sb1.Color = Colors.Blue; break; case 1: sb1.Color = Colors.Red; break; case 2: sb1.Color = Colors.Yellow; break; case 3: sb1.Color = Colors.Green; break; case 4: sb1.Color = Colors.Purple; break; case 5: sb1.Color = Colors.Pink; break; case 6: sb1.Color = Colors.Brown; break; } text1.SetValue(TextBlock.BackgroundProperty, sb1); text1.SetValue(Grid.ColumnProperty, i); spFactory.AppendChild(text1); } if (full > 0) { FrameworkElementFactory text1 = new FrameworkElementFactory(typeof(TextBlock)); SolidColorBrush sb1 = new SolidColorBrush(Colors.Black); text1.SetValue(TextBlock.BackgroundProperty, sb1); text1.SetValue(Grid.ColumnProperty, cols); spFactory.AppendChild(text1); } dataTemplate.VisualTree = spFactory; viewCol2.CellTemplate = dataTemplate; int rows = listView1.Items.Count + 1; listView1.Items.Add(new { Option = "Row " + rows }); } }

  • What is a convenient base for a bignum library & primality testing algorithm?

    - by nn
    Hi, I am to program the Solovay-Strassen primality test presented in the original paper on RSA. Additionally I will need to write a small bignum library, and so when searching for a convenient representation for bignum I came across this [specification][1]: struct { int sign; int size; int *tab; } bignum; I will also be writing a multiplication routine using the Karatsuba method. So, for my question: What base would be convenient to store integer data in the bignum struct? Note: I am not allowed to use third party or built-in implementations for bignum such as GMP. Thank you.

  • VS 11 with std::future - Is this a bug?

    - by cooky451
    I recently installed the Visual Studio 11 Developer Preview. While playing with threads and futures, I came around this setup: #include <future> #include <iostream> int foo(unsigned a, unsigned b) { return 5; } int main() { std::future<int> f = std::async(foo, 5, 7); std::cout << f.get(); } So, very simple. But since there are two arguments for "foo", VS 11 doesn't want to compile it. (However, g++ does: http://ideone.com/ANrPj) (The runtime error is no problem: std::future exception on gcc experimental implementation of C++0x) (VS 11 errormessage: http://pastebin.com/F9Xunh2s) I'm a little confused right now, since this error seems extremely obvious to me, even if it is a developer preview. So my questions are: Is this code correct according to the C++11 standard? Is this bug already known/reported?

  • Drawing star shapes with variable parameters

    - by owca
    Hi. I have task to write program allowing users to draw stars, which can differ in size and amount of arms. When I was dealing with basic stars I was doing it with GeneralPath and tables of points : int xPoints[] = { 55, 67, 109, 73, 83, 55, 27, 37, 1, 43 }; int yPoints[] = { 0, 36, 36, 54, 96, 72, 96, 54, 36, 36 }; Graphics2D g2d = ( Graphics2D ) g; GeneralPath star = new GeneralPath(); star.moveTo( xPoints[ 0 ], yPoints[ 0 ] ); for ( int k = 1; k < xPoints.length; k++ ) star.lineTo( xPoints[ k ], yPoints[ k ] ); star.closePath(); g2d.fill( star ); What method should I choose for drawing stars with variable inner and outer radius, as well as different amount of arms ? This is what I should obtain :

  • C++: how to truncate the double in efficient way?

    - by Arman
    Hello, I would like to truncate the float to 4 digits. Are there some efficient way to do that? My current solution is: double roundDBL(double d,unsigned int p=4) { unsigned int fac=pow(10,p); double facinv=1.0/static_cast<double>(fac); double x=static_cast<unsigned int>(x*fac)/facinv; return x; } but using pow and delete seems to me not so efficient. kind regards Arman.

  • Data tweaking code runs fine when executed directly - but never stops when used in trigger

    - by MBaas
    I have written some code to ensure that items on an order are all numbered (the "position number" or "item number" has been introduced only recently and we did not want to go and change all related code - as it is "asthetics only" and has no functional impact.) So, the idea is to go and check for an records that jave an itemno of NULL or 0 - and then compute one and assign it. When executing this code in a query window, it works fine. When putting it into an AFTER INSERT-trigger, it loops forever. So what is wrong here? /****** Objekt: Trigger [SetzePosNr] Skriptdatum: 02/28/2010 20:06:29 ******/ SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON GO CREATE TRIGGER [SetzePosNr] ON [dbo].[bestellpos] AFTER INSERT AS BEGIN DECLARE @idb int DECLARE @idp int DECLARE @pnr int SELECT @idp=id,@idb=id_bestellungen FROM bestellpos WHERE posnr IS NULL OR posnr=0 WHILE @idp IS NOT NULL BEGIN SELECT @pnr = 1+max(posnr) FROM bestellpos WHERE id_bestellungen = @idb print( 'idp=' + str(@idp) + ', idb=' + str(@idb) + ', posnr=' + str(@pnr)) UPDATE bestellpos SET posnr=@pnr WHERE id=@idp SELECT @idp=id,@idb=id_bestellungen FROM bestellpos WHERE posnr IS NULL OR posnr=0 END END

  • Does C99 guarantee that arrays are contiguous ?

    - by kriss
    Following an hot comment thread in another question, I came to debate of what is and what is not defined in C99 standard about C arrays. Basically when I define a 2D array like int a[5][5], does the standard C99 garantee or not that it will be a contiguous block of ints, can I cast it to (int *)a and be sure I will have a valid 1D array of 25 ints. As I understand the standard the above property is implicit in the sizeof definition and in pointer arithmetic, but others seems to disagree and says casting to (int*) the above structure give an undefined behavior (even if they agree that all existing implementations actually allocate contiguous values). More specifically, if we think an implementation that would instrument arrays to check array boundaries for all dimensions and return some kind of error when accessing 1D array, or does not give correct access to elements above 1st row. Could such implementation be standard compilant ? And in this case what parts of the C99 standard are relevant.

This is on VS2003. error C2248: 'A::y' : cannot access protected member declared in class 'A' class A { public: A() : x(0), y(0) {} protected: int x; int y; }; class B : public A { public: B() : A(), z(0) {} B(const A& item) : A(), z(1) { x = item.y;} private: int z; }; The problem is with x = item.y; The access is specified as protected. Why doesn't the constructor of class B have access to A::y?

  • Unreachable code detected by using const variables

    - by Anton Roth
    I have following code: private const FlyCapture2Managed.PixelFormat f7PF = FlyCapture2Managed.PixelFormat.PixelFormatMono16; public PGRCamera(ExamForm input, bool red, int flags, int drawWidth, int drawHeight) { if (f7PF == FlyCapture2Managed.PixelFormat.PixelFormatMono8) { bpp = 8; // unreachable warning } else if (f7PF == FlyCapture2Managed.PixelFormat.PixelFormatMono16){ bpp = 16; } else { MessageBox.Show("Camera misconfigured"); // unreachable warning } } I understand that this code is unreachable, but I don't want that message to appear, since it's a configuration on compilation which just needs a change in the constant to test different settings, and the bits per pixel (bpp) change depending on the pixel format. Is there a good way to have just one variable being constant, deriving the other from it, but not resulting in an unreachable code warning? Note that I need both values, on start of the camera it needs to be configured to the proper Pixel Format, and my image understanding code needs to know how many bits the image is in. So, is there a good workaround, or do I just live with this warning?

  • Doubts in System call mechanism in linux

    - by bala1486
    We transit from ring3 to ring0 using 'int' or the new 'syscall/sysenter' instruction. Does that mean that the page tables and other stuffs that needs to be modified for the kernel is automatically done by the 'int' instruction or the interrupt handler for the 'int 0x80' will do the required stuff and jump to the respective system call. Also when returning from a system call, we again need to go to user space. For this we need to know the instruction address in the user space to continue the user application. Where is that address stored. Does the 'ret' instruction automatically changes the ring from ring3 to ring0 or where/how this ring changing mechanism takes place? Then, i read that changing from ring3 to ring0 is not as costly as changing from ring0 to ring3. Why is this so?? Thanks, Bala

  • Assigning a default value to a final variable in case of an exception in Java

    - by frenetisch applaudierend
    Why won't Java let me assign a value to a final variable in a catch block after setting the value in the try block, even if it is not possible for the final value to be written in case of an exception. Here is an example that demonstrates the problem: public class FooBar { private final int foo; private FooBar() { try { int x = bla(); foo = x; // In case of an exception this line is never reached } catch (Exception ex) { foo = 0; // But the compiler complains // that foo might have been initialized } } private int bla() { // You can use any of the lines below, neither works // throw new RuntimeException(); return 0; } } The problem is not hard to work around, but I would like to understand why the compiler does not accept this. Thanks in advance for any inputs!

  • Help with SQL query (list strings and count in same query)

    - by Mestika
    Hi everybody, I’m working on a small kind of log system to a webpage, and I’m having some difficulties with a query I want to do multiple things. I have tried to do some nested / subqueries but can’t seem to get it right. I’ve two tables: User = {userid: int, username} Registered = {userid: int, favoriteid: int} What I need is a query to list all the userid’s and the usernames of each user. In addition, I also need to count the total number of favoriteid’s the user is registered with. A user who is not registered for any favorite must also be listed, but with the favorite count shown as zero. I hope that I have explained my request probably but otherwise please write back so I can elaborate. By the way, the query I’ve tried with look like this: SELECT user.userid, user.username FROM user,registered WHERE user.userid = registered.userid(SELECT COUNT(favoriteid) FROM registered) However, it doesn’t do the trick, unfortunately Kind regards Mestika

    I have a simple Java class that has some methods: public class Utils { public void deal(String price, int amount) { // .... } public void bid(String price, int amount) { // .... } public void offer(String price, int amount) { // .... } } I would like to create an instance of this class and allow the Javascript code to call the methods directly, like so: deal("1.3736", 100000); bid("1.3735", 500000); The only way I could figure out for now was to use ScriptEngine engine = new ScriptEngineManager().getEngineByName("js"); engine.put("utils", new Utils()); and then use utils.deal(...) in the Javascript code. I can also write wrapper functions in Javascript for each method, but there should be a simpler way to do this automatically for all the public methods of a class.

  • Convert varchar to numeric in Informix

    - by user302705
    Hi All I have problem while converting varchar type to Int type in Informix. Actually I dont know if the value is really varchar or not which I want to convert to INT. Its a sandbox system. As Example: I am trying to run this kind of Select telnumber from numbers n where Cast(n.telnumber AS INT) between 1234 and 9999 I got this error: "Character to numeric conversion error" If I run this query like this: Select telnumber from numbers n where n.telnumber between '1234' and '9999' it brings a resultset but not in the range that I defined. 130987 130710 130723 How can I convert telnumber to a numeric value and use it in "between" 1234 and 9999 range Thanks in advance.

  • gcov and switch statements

    - by Matt
    I'm running gcov over some C code with a switch statement. I've written test cases to cover every possible path through that switch statement, but it still reports a branch in the switch statement as not taken and less than 100% on the "Taken at least once" stat. Here's some sample code to demonstrate: #include "stdio.h" void foo(int i) { switch(i) { case 1:printf("a\n");break; case 2:printf("b\n");break; case 3:printf("c\n");break; default: printf("other\n"); } } int main() { int i; for(i=0;i<4;++i) foo(i); return 0; } I built with "gcc temp.c -fprofile-arcs -ftest-coverage", ran "a", then did "gcov -b -c temp.c". The output indicates eight branches on the switch and one (branch 6) not taken. What are all those branches and how do I get 100% coverage?

  • java serialization and final fields

    - by mdma
    I have an class defining an immutable value type that I now need to serialize. The immutability comes from the final fields which are set in the constructor. I've tried serializing, and it works (surprisingly?) - but I've no idea how. Here's an example of the class public class MyValueType implements Serializable { private final int value; private transient int derivedValue; public MyValueType(int value) { this.value = value; this.derivedValue = derivedValue(value); } // getters etc... } Given that the class doesn't have a no arg constructor, how can it be instantiated and the final field set? (An aside - I noticed this class particularly because IDEA wasn't generating a "no serialVersionUID" inspection warning for this class, yet successfully generated warnings for other classes that I've just made serializable.)

  • Dealing with ArrayLists in java...all members of the arraylist updating themselves?

    - by Charlie
    I have a function that shrinks the size of a "Food bank" (represented by a rectangle in my GUI) once some of the food has been taken. I have the following function check for this: public boolean tryToPickUpFood(Ant a) { int xCoord = a.getLocation().x; int yCoord = a.getLocation().y; for (int i = 0; i < foodPiles.size(); i++) { if (foodPiles.get(i).containsPoint(xCoord, yCoord)) { foodPiles.get(i).decreaseFood(); return true; } } return false; } Where decreaseFood shrinks the rectangle.. public void decreaseFood() { foodAmount -= 1; shrinkPile(); } private void shrinkPile() { WIDTH -=1; HEIGHT = WIDTH; } However, whenever one rectangle shrinks, ALL of the rectangles shrink. Why would this be?
