I want to find that when a user fires an event, such as click a button, what function(s) does this event invoke in run-time? Would it be possible?
Thanks!
Right now, if I want to run mysql, I have to do /Applications/MAMP/Library/bin/mysql -u user -ppass... I'd be a happy camper if I could just do mysql -u user -ppass.... Been googling around, but haven't been able to find anything... Have a feeling I'm using dumb search terms, so if anyone here knows how to do this, that'd be awesome...
In Learning WCF, by Michele Bustamante, there is a section that describes a binding called the NetNamedPipes binding. The books says that this binding can only be used for WCF services that will be called exclusively from the same machine.
Under what circumstances would it make sense to use this? Ordinarily, I would write asynchronous code without using WCF... Why would Microsoft provide something for WCF that can only run on the same machine?
i'm trying to run a conditional statement in a class i'm placing in my App_Code folder
the condition is whether the person is logged in or not. I normally have two ways to do this in my masterpage and ASPX's
if (!User.IsAuthenticated) or if(Profile.username = "anonymous")
however neither of these things seem available to me in the .cs i'm making. anyone know what i'm missing? maybe a using namespace up top?
When I run this code on my computer with the help of "Google App Engine SDK", it displays (in my browser) the HTML code of the Google home page:
from google.appengine.api import urlfetch
url = "http://www.google.com/"
result = urlfetch.fetch(url)
print result.content
How can I make it display the page itself? I mean I want to see that page in my browser the way it would normally be seen by any user of the internet.
What ways do I have in .net to run code from string?
Console.WriteLine("1 + 2 * 3"); // results is 7.
What other options do we have?
C# - Compile the code on runtime?
IronRuby / IronPython?
F#?
Not considering legal issues I would be very interested if it would be possible to run one of those on the bare metal of the iPad/Phone ARM-Architecture.
This is absolutely ridiculous! Visual Studio is able to run (debug) my program just fine, but it won't display my layout in the designer. It just gives this useless error:
Can anyone help explain this? I have not changed the XAML at all, not a single character, since the last time it worked fine. I've only changed some .cs code.
I'm developing a simple console application in Visual Studio 2008 and want to run it in the output window inside Visual Studio 2008, instead of having a separate command prompt window come up. Is there a way to do this?

I would like to run some code right after a certain set of elements are attached. jQuery.live() allows you to bind event handlers to elements, even if they are created later. But AFAIK there is no suitable method to do something like the following:
$("some selector").live("attach", function() { $(this).whatever(); });
How can I accomplish this?
I do not understand what is meant by the terms "compile time" and "run time" (or "runtime").
I'm also a bit confused about what "value type" and "reference type" mean, and how they relate to the 'times mentioned above.
Would someone please explain these things?
There is a VB6 application. It can be run with command line parameters to create some report in a text file.
The problem is that when started from a batch file, application returns control immediately, so the following commands start executing. I need these following commands to wait until the VB6 app finishes its work.
How to achieve that?
I want to reload lua scripts at run-time. What are the ways to do this? Do you just have to reinitialize the lua system and then re-read all the lua files?
Hi,
I need to run an image processing application on a .NET server.
Do you have any tips what I should/can do?
I implemented the code in a webservice, but performance is very slow (at least 10x slower than when executed in a windows application).
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
thanks
