Is there any good CHM reader out there which can support the following:

works on windows, linux and mac
The default one in windows does not support highlighting text.
I have a page with a bunch of HTML tables that I need to print.
Each table should fit on one page, but both Firefox and Safari want to break them over multiple pages and put more than one on a page.
Is there any way to force it to not break the tables across pages?
I can use any Mac program to print.

I'm running a Haunted House exhibit at my school to raise money, and I had the idea of taking pictures of the "victims"/students remotely with my Sony DSLR camera and then printing and selling the photos as the students exit the haunted House (much like amusement parks do with roller coasters as you go down the final drop, or when one takes pictures with Santa Claus at the mall). Does anyone know of any free/relatively inexpensive software that would allow me to do this? I would prefer Mac-compatibility, but it's not a requirement.
I'm trying to turn off Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x) on my Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, and I've got an Asus P5N32-E SLI LGA 775 nForce 680i motherboard.
I looked through all the bios settings and couldn't find anything do do with virtualization or VT-x.
I need to turn virtualization off so I can boot Mac OS X in VMware.
I am a new Mac user and have an iMac. Coming from the Windows world where everything is installer based, OS X seems to mount .dmg files and run them. I've seen this happen prior to an install and later it requests us to move an icon to the Applications folder.
Could someone help me unclutter the install process on OS X. What or how does it work?

I'm having a Mac computer at work, and the internet connection is through HTTP proxy.
I want to install fink (or macports, doesn't really matter), to have all the useful utilities (like mc).
I've set the proxy during fink installation. It has successfully installed, but "fink selfupdate" cannot download using rsync (using cvs it fails too).
What can I do?

Im looking to set up a simple fileserver:
5 - 7 clients - Mixed Windows, Linux, Mac OSX - connecting over wireless and wired
Serving ~200GB content -
Photos, MP3's, ISO's etc
What OS would you recommend for this fileserver? I understand XP limits the number of when connecting to different shares so this probably isnt the best choice.

It's great having lots of video on demand options, but actually choosing something to watch is turning into a mess - I have to jump from one website or application to another.
I'd like to have a single queue where I can add and prioritize movies and TV I want to watch from any source: iTunes purchases, iTunes rentals, Netflix on demand, Amazon video on demand, Hulu, etc.
I'd like the consolidated queue to be accessible from Front Row on my Mac Mini.
Does such a thing exist?
I have a Kenwood KA-4006 Amp that I have connected to my macbook. I know that speakers have magnets in them. I just wanted to verify that there are no magnets in the amp that will mess with my mac. Also wondering if I need to worry about my comptuer getting too close to the speakers.

I set up a VPN on my server, everything seems okay but when I connect to it from Mac (didn't try windows) I can connect, I can send data and from the server I see that it receives it but it does not send any data back...

I tried different clients because i thought its client related, but all of them sooner or later disconnect or stop uploading/downloading files, and getting a timeout disconnect. After a reconnect it works again for a bit of time. Really strange cannot figure out the reason.

Is there a way, from inside the browser, to delete cookies and saved passwords in such a way that the data is unrecoverable (similar to Secure Empty Trash)?
I know I can probably track down all the files involved and then manually do this, but I'm curious if there's an easier way. Or maybe browsers already do it out of the box?

I'm running windows 8.1 on Parallels 9 on Mac OS X 10.9.3 Mavericks. Before that I used to have VMWare and I could manage to install Intel Iris drivers for OpenCL SDK. But Parallels installs tools for virtualization I guess and in device manager I see Parallels Display Adapter (VDDM) instead of Intel Iris Graphics Processor.
How can I see the device and be able to install latest Intel drivers so that I can Install Intel OpenCL SDK.

Using Apache with mod_rewrite, when I load a .css or .js file and view the HTTP headers, the Content-type is only set correctly the first time I load it - subsequent refreshes are missing Content-type altogether and it's creating some problems for me. Specifically, gzip is not compressing these files.
I can get around this by appending a random query string value to the end of each filename, eg. http://www.site.com/script.js?12345
However, I don't want to have to do that, since caching is good and all I want is for the Content-type to be present. I've tried using a RewriteRule to force the type but still didn't solve the problem. Any ideas?

In most home routers, you can find a DHCP client table. Obviously the router knows the IP and MAC addresses of the connected computers. However, most of the time the router can list the computer names as well. So what protocol do they use to get the names? Perhaps NetBIOS?
This is similar to some other questions, but I have a specific need which is not covered in the other questions.
I have an Ubuntu server (11.10) with two NICs. One is built into the motherboard and the other is a PCI express card. I want to have my server connected to the internet via my NAT router and also have it able to wake from suspend using a Magic Packet (henceforth referred to as Wake-On-LAN, WOL). I can't do this with just one of the NICs because each has an issue - the built-in NIC will crash the system if it is placed under heavy load (typically downloading data), whilst the PCI express NIC will crash the system if it is used for WOL. I have spent some time investigating these individual problems, to no avail.
My plan is thus: use the built-in NIC solely for WOL, and use the PCI express card for all other network communication except WOL. Since I send the WOL Magic Packet to a specific MAC address, there is no danger of hitting the wrong NIC, but there is a danger of using the built-in NIC for general network access, overloading it and crashing the system.
Both NICs are wired to the same LAN with address space 192.168.0.0/24. The built-in ethernet card is set to have interface name eth1 and the PCI express card is eth0 in Ubuntu's udev persistent rules (so they stay the same upon reboot).
I have been trying to set this up with the /etc/network/interfaces file. Here is where I am currently:

I think by not specifying a gateway for eth1, I prevent it being used for outgoing requests. I don't mind if it can be reached on 192.168.0.254 on the LAN, i.e. via SSH -- it's IP is irrelevant to WOL, which is based on MAC addresses -- I just don't want it to be used to access internet resources.

My question is this: Is this sufficient for what I want to achieve? My research has thrown up the idea of using static routing to specify that eth1 should only be used for WOL on the local network, but I'm not sure this is necessary.
I have been monitoring the activity of the interfaces using iptraf and it seems like eth0 takes the vast majority of the packets, though I am not sure that this will be consistent based on my configuration. Given that if I mess up the configuration, my system will likely crash, it is important to me to have this set up correctly!
I use a MAC and I want to completely block ads on my Google Chrome browse. What I mean by completely is that I don't want the ads to be just hidden. I understand that Google Chrome adblock addons currently hide ads, but can't prevent them from downloading. Is there a work around to this problem?
Also, I use Firefox as my primary browser and I am on a proxy server on a Local network.
On my 2012 MacBook Pro (15 inch, non retina, i7, 10GB RAM) after successful installation when Mavericks tried to boot, it is freezing there with "Still waiting for root device" (Seen Using CMD + V during boot).
Someone please help. My Mac is not usable anymore. Boots in safe mode but freezes in safe mode too. From safe mode reinstalled Mavericks but failed again with same error.
If it can't be fixed please let me know if it can be reverted.
I have several machines, most of then are Linux and one of them is under Mac OS X. Each machine has several internal hard drives, and I also have a few external hard drives.
How can I reliably find files with setup ?
External drives are not always plugged, but the files don't move often. Ideally I would like to be able to search the metadata given with the 'file' command, and move files over the network.

I am familiar with using both Versions and Cornerstone on Mac - they are fantastic and incredibly simple to use... but I don't want to always rely on being able to borrow my girlfriend's MacBook so need to find an alternative for my Windows machine.
Can anyone please recommend a good subversion client? I have experimented using Tortoise and RapidSVN and couldn't even get them working :( I'd like something just incredibly simple if possible.

It seems that you can use git am only with a terminal's Mail in OS X/Ubuntu.
