  • Upgrade to msysgit 1.7.0.2 ?

    - by moleculezz
I know this question is probably stoopid. But I just don't want to cause any hickups with my work system (Win7). How do I upgrade the software? Do I just replace the existing version or do I need to remove the one I'm having and then install the new version? I tried to find some info on the net but did not find any info on upgrading.

  • Cannot Install JDK

    - by Vince
For the life of me, I can't install the JDK on Windows Vista. I keep getting the error, "This Software Has Already Been Installed on Your Computer. Would you like to reinstall it?" Problem is, it's evidently not on my computer, since I can't a) run Eclipse - I get "Could Not Find Java SE Runtime Environment" or b) Find any reference to Java from the command line when typing java -version - I get "Error opening registry key 'Registry/JavaSoft/Java Runtime Environment." Any ideas?

  • How to add WCF templates to Visual Studio Express?

    - by Mike Kantor
I am working through the book Learning WCF by Michele Bustamante, and trying to do it using Visual Studio C# Express 2008. The instructions say to use WCF project and item templates, which are not included with VS C# Express. There are templates for these types included with Visual Studio Web Developer Express, and I've tried to copy them over into the right directories for VS C# Express to find, but the IDE doesn't find them. Is there some registration process? Or config file somewhere?

  • Finding Freelance/Contract Coding Projects

    - by Laplie
What's the best way to find freelance/contract coding projects? I'm looking for paid freelance coding jobs. Almost all of the websites that I've come across are filled with foreigners willing to work at 1/4th the pay, job posters wanting you to recode Microsoft Office for $50, or grey-area coding projects (link generators, bots, trojans). Is there any way to find decent freelance work?

  • Help finding a USB Joystick mouse?

    - by shane87
I am currently developing a final year project which involves using a joystick instead of the mouse for those who are physically impaired. Does anyone know where I can find a USB Joystick mouse? All I can find on e-bay and amazon is very sophisticated flight joysticks with loads of buttons and controls etc. I am looking for a plain and simple joystick? If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.

  • Finding objects in J2ME M3G

    - by Jani
I'm using Blender to create m3g files and then I load them in a java program. Which is the best way to find an object in the World? Should I create separate classes for every object and then add them to one World object or should I assign IDs to the objects in Blender and find them in the program by ID? Or export every object to a separate M3G file? (Or some other way?)

  • Google gadget to read https rss feeds?

    - by Carl
Anyone run across a Google Gadget RSS reader that can read https feeds? I haven't been able to find any, and I'm not sure if this is because a) I'm the only one that needs one and/or b) there is something nasty about the browser security model here that I'll find out if I try to roll my own. Thanks much in advance.

  • SQL Server 2008 Geography .STBuffer() distance measurement units

    - by Chris
I'm working with a geographic point using lat/long and need to find other points in our database within a 5 mile radius of that point. However, I can't seem to find out what the "units" are for STBuffer, it doesn't seem to conform to feet, miles, meters, kilometers, etc. The documentation only refers to them as "units", any suggestions? Thanks [...] from geography::STGeomFromText('POINT(x y)', 4326).STBuffer(z).STIntersects(geography::STGeomFromText('POINT(' + CAST(v.Longitude as varchar(max)) + ' ' + CAST(v.Latitude as varchar(max)) + ')', 4326)) = 1
