I have a table [say tblHistory] and this table contains 100 rows.
I have created the same table at the server, but the table doesn't have the data, I want data from tblHistory to convert into
INSERT INTO tblHistory ------
so that I could run the script on the server to fill the database.

I have a page create-quote.aspx. I want to open this page in different modes, depending on whether a querystring parameter is present or not.
My question is at which event should I check, If I have a querystring parameter or not.

I have a model which is accessible through the Django admin area, something like the following:

Let's say that I want to show field_a and field_b if the user is adding an object, but only field_a if the user is editing an object. Is there a simple way to do this, perhaps using the fields attribute?
If if comes to it, I could hack a JavaScript solution, but it doesn't feel right to do that at all!

I have to include a dynamic page content into my template, Say I have a left panel which gets the data dynamically through a view. Now, I have to include this left panel into all my pages but I do not want to duplicate the code for all the pages. Is there any way, I can write a single script and include it in all my templates to display the left panel in all my pages?

How can I return an response (lets say an array) to the client with a name assign to it form a python script.

in this scenario it returns an array with the name(jsonValidateReturn) assign to it also this can be accessed by jsonValidateReturn[1],so I want to do the same using a python script.
I tried it once but it didn't go well

array_to_js[2] = False
jsonValidateReturn = simplejson.dumps(array_to_js)

Say, using MySQL, if the movies table has 20,000 records, and each record has a field that is the description of the movie, up to 2k byte long. How can we search for movies with the word "nature" in its description? If possible, it is to be fast, instead of going through all the 20,000 records. (if in some other situations, like for books, where n can be 200,000 or more).
There are often times I'll grep -l whatev file to find what I'm looking for. Say the output is
1234: whatev 1
5555: whatev 2
6643: whatev 3
If I want to then just extract the lines between 1234 and 5555, is there a tool to do that? For static files I have a script that does wc -l of the file and then does the math to split it out with tail & head but that doesn't work out so well with log files that are constantly being written to.

I would like to generate a random filename in unix shell (say tcshell). The filename should consist of random 32 hex letters, e.g.:

(to which I will add whatever is neccesary). The point is being able to do it only in shell without resorting to a program.
Suppose, I want to record say poll choices by users everyday. In this case, i have a table named vote which has columns poll , choice and user-id . So how can i out the constraint (maybe in the django models or wherever possible) that poll and user-id both should not be the same for any entry but like the same user can vote for various different polls once and obviously various users can vote for the same poll. I hope I am clear.

When exactly 'the ctor code' is executed? As for normal static variables before main() or at the moment we first call to 'globalFunction()'?
How is it on different platforms and different compilers (cl, gcc, ...) ?

What makes a language a scripting language? I've heard some people say "when it gets interpreted instead of compiled". That would make PHP (for example) a scripting language. Is that the only criterion? Or are there other criteria?

I'm attempting to add a Test Settings file to my Unit Tests project in VS2010. All websites seem to simply say "Go to Add New Item Installed Templates Test Settings". However, I don't have Test Settings as an option in my Installed Templates (nor does searching for them online turn up any results).
Can someone point me in the right direction for what I need to do?

I have a file which I want users to download only once. After it's done downloading, the file is no longer available.
Outside of setting up a streaming system, is there any way I can set some sort of callback up to say the file is done downloading on the client's computer?

1 - The start-point GPS coordinates,
2 - The end-point GPS coordinates,
3 - The speed at which the object is travelling,
4 - Knowing that the trip trajectory will be a straight line...
How can I calculate what my GPS coordinated will be in n minutes' time? That is to say, how can I calculate my position at a given time after the trip has started before the trip has ended?
I think in the past python scripts would run off CGI, which would create a new thread for each process.
I am a newbie so I'm not really sure, what options do we have?
Is the web server pipeline that python works under any more/less effecient than say php?
