  • Execute a BASH command in Python-- in the same process

    - by Baldur
    I need to execute the command . /home/db2v95/sqllib/db2profile before I can import ibm_db_dbi in Python 2.6. Executing it before I enter Python works: baldurb@gigur:~$ . /home/db2v95/sqllib/db2profile baldurb@gigur:~$ python Python 2.6.4 (r264:75706, Dec 7 2009, 18:45:15) [GCC 4.4.1] on linux2 Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> import ibm_db_dbi >>> but executing it in Python using os.system(". /home/db2v95/sqllib/db2profile") or subprocess.Popen([". /home/db2v95/sqllib/db2profile"]) results in an error. What am I doing wrong? Edit: this is the error I receive: > Traceback (most recent call last): > File "<file>.py", line 8, in > <module> > subprocess.Popen([". /home/db2v95/sqllib/db2profile"]) > File > "/usr/lib/python2.6/subprocess.py", > line 621, in __init__ > errread, errwrite) File "/usr/lib/python2.6/subprocess.py", > line 1126, in _execute_child > raise child_exception OSError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory

  • can the python wave module accept StringIO object

    - by user368005
    i'm trying to use the wave module to read wav files in python. whats not typical of my applications is that I'm NOT using a file or a filename to read the wav file, but instead i have the wav file in a buffer. And here's what i'm doing import StringIO buffer = StringIO.StringIO() buffer.output(wav_buffer) file = wave.open(buffer, 'r') but i'm getting a EOFError when i run it... File "/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/lib/python2.5/wave.py", line 493, in open return Wave_read(f) File "/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/lib/python2.5/wave.py", line 163, in __init__ self.initfp(f) File "/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/lib/python2.5/wave.py", line 128, in initfp self._file = Chunk(file, bigendian = 0) File "/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/lib/python2.5/chunk.py", line 63, in __init__ raise EOFError i know the StringIO stuff works for creation of wav file and i tried the following and it works import StringIO buffer = StringIO.StringIO() audio_out = wave.open(buffer, 'w') audio_out.setframerate(m.getRate()) audio_out.setsampwidth(2) audio_out.setcomptype('NONE', 'not compressed') audio_out.setnchannels(1) audio_out.writeframes(raw_audio) audio_out.close() buffer.flush() # these lines do not work... # buffer.output(wav_buffer) # file = wave.open(buffer, 'r') # this file plays out fine in VLC file = open(FILE_NAME + ".wav", 'w') file.write(buffer.getvalue()) file.close() buffer.close()

  • How to make NSView not clip its bounding area?

    - by Jeremy L
    I created an empty Cocoa app on Xcode for OS X, and added: - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(NSNotification *)aNotification { self.view = [[NSView alloc] initWithFrame:NSMakeRect(100, 100, 200, 200)]; self.view.wantsLayer = YES; self.view.layer = [CALayer layer]; self.view.layer.backgroundColor = [[NSColor yellowColor] CGColor]; self.view.layer.anchorPoint = CGPointMake(0.5, 0.5); self.view.layer.transform = CATransform3DMakeRotation(30 * M_PI / 180, 1, 1, 1); [self.window.contentView addSubview:self.view]; } But the rotated layer's background is clipped by the view's bounding area: I thought since some version of OS X and iOS, the view won't clip the content of its subviews and will show everything inside and outside? On iOS, I do see that behavior, but I wonder why it shows up like that and how to make everything show? (I am already using the most current Xcode 4.4.1 on Mountain Lion). (note: if you try the code above, you will need to link to Quartz Core, and possibly import the quartz core header, although I wonder why I didn't import the header and it still compiles perfectly)

  • Having an issue with org.hibernate.SessionException: Session is closed! in Hibernate

    - by hal10001
    I've done quite a bit a research on this with no luck, but all the answers have a tendency to point toward the session context settings in the config file. What is odd is that I get a session connection the very first time I hit the page (and therefore, a successful result set), but then when I reload I get the following exception: org.hibernate.SessionException: Session is closed! Here are my config settings that are not DB connection string related: <property name="hibernate.show_sql">false</property> <property name="hibernate.dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.SQLServerDialect</property> <property name="hibernate.current_session_context_class">thread</property> <property name="hibernate.cache.provider_class">org.hibernate.cache.NoCacheProvider</property> <property name="hibernate.cache.use_query_cache">false</property> <property name="hibernate.cache.use_minimal_puts">false</property> Here is an example of a call I make that produces the situation I described above. public T get(int id) { session.beginTransaction(); T type; try { type = getTypeClass().cast(session.get(getTypeClass(), id)); } catch (ClassCastException classCastException) { throw new ClassCastException(classCastException.getMessage()); } session.getTransaction().commit(); return type; } The session variable reference is to a static field that contains the current session. All of the session connection details are textbook reference manual. For example, here is my Hibernate session utility: import org.hibernate.SessionFactory; import org.hibernate.cfg.Configuration; public class HibernateSessionFactoryUtil { private static final SessionFactory sessionFactory = buildSessionFactory(); private static SessionFactory buildSessionFactory() { try { return new Configuration().configure().buildSessionFactory(); } catch (Throwable ex) { System.err.println("Initial SessionFactory creation failed." + ex); throw new ExceptionInInitializerError(ex); } } public static SessionFactory getSessionFactory() { return sessionFactory; } }

  • How to embed XBase expressions in an Xtext DSL

    - by Marcus Mathioudakis
    I am writing a simple little DSL for specifying constraints on messages, and Have been trying without success for a while to embed XBase expressions into the language. The Grammar looks like this: grammar org.xtext.businessrules.BusinessRules with org.eclipse.xtext.xbase.Xbase //import "http://www.eclipse.org/xtext/xbase/Xbase" as xbase import "http://www.eclipse.org/xtext/common/JavaVMTypes" as jvmTypes generate businessRules "http://www.xtext.org/businessrules/BusinessRules" Start: rules+=Constraint*; Constraint: {Constraint} 'FOR' 'PAYLOAD' payload=PAYLOAD 'ELEMENT' element=ID 'CONSTRAINED BY' constraint=XExpression; PAYLOAD: "SimulationSessionEvents" |"stacons" |"any" ; Range: 'above' min=INT ('below' max=INT)? |'below' max=INT ('above' min=INT)? ; When trying to parse a file such as: FOR PAYLOAD SimulationSessionEvents ELEMENT matrix CONSTRAINED BY ... I can't get it to work for ... = any kind of Arithmetic expression, although it works for ...= loop or if expression, or even just a number. As soon as I do something like '-5' or '4-5' it says Couldn't resolve reference to JvmIdentifiableElement '-', even though the Xbase.xtext Grammar looks like it allows these expressions. I don't think I'm missing any Jars, as it doesn't complain when I run the mwe workflow, but only when trying to parse the input file. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • A question about DOM parser used with Python

    - by fixxxer
    I'm using the following python code to search for a node in an XML file and changing the value of an attribute of one of it's children.Changes are happening correctly when the node is displayed using toxml().But, when it is written to a file, the attributes rearrange themselves(as seen in the Source and the Final XML below). Could anyone explain how and why this happen? Python code: #!/usr/bin/env python import xml from xml.dom.minidom import parse dom=parse("max.xml") #print "Please enter the store name:" for sku in dom.getElementsByTagName("node"): if sku.getAttribute("name") == "store": sku.childNodes[1].childNodes[5].setAttribute("value","Delhi,India") print sku.toxml() xml.dom.ext.PrettyPrint(dom, open("new.xml", "w")) a part of the Source XML: <node name='store' node_id='515' module='mpx.lib.node.simple_value.SimpleValue' config_builder='' inherant='false' description='Configurable Value'> <match> <property name='1' value='point'/> <property name='2' value='0'/> <property name='val' value='Store# 09204 Staten Island, NY'/> <property name='3' value='str'/> </match> </node> Final XML : <node config_builder="" description="Configurable Value" inherant="false" module="mpx.lib.node.simple_value.SimpleValue" name="store" node_id="515"> <match> <property name="1" value="point"/> <property name="2" value="0"/> <property name="val" value="Delhi,India"/> <property name="3" value="str"/> </match> </node>

  • Why compiling in Flash IDE I cannot access stage in a Sprite constructor before addChild while if I

    - by yuri
    I've created this simple class (omissing package directive and imports) public class Viewer extends Sprite { public function Viewer():void { trace(stage); } } then in Flash IDE I import in first frame this AS: import Viewer var viewer = new Viewer(); stage.addChild(viewer); trace(viewer.stage); and this works as I expected: the first trace called in constructor say stage is "null" because I haven't yet add viewer to a DisplayObjectContainer. The second one output the stage object. So I created a project using AXDT eclipse plugin, I've recreated and compiled only the first class (trashed the AS init script used in Flash IDE because is not needed) and on the first trace ... wow ... the stage is filled with the stage Object. I seems to me that the compiler used by AXDT (Flex4 SDK open source) add the class... before construct it (!?).. to a DisplayObjectContainer already attached to a Stage. I want to understand how can reproduce this behaviour using compiler in Flash IDE so I can directrly access Stage in construction.

  • java applet stops running on exceptions

    - by Marius
    I've developed a simple applet that imports an image from the clipboard. When i run the class file from NetBeans, everything works fine. But when i try to run it as an applet ... it gives me lots of errors in the java console and does not run ... - The applet is signed - There is a static method in one class, called getImageFromClipboard(). When the applet runs, it calls this method. - getImageFromClipboard() method has a try-catch block and suppresses all errors. It simply returns either a BufferedImage or null. - When applet runs, it does some visual adjustments before calling getImageFromClipboard() Now the scenario is as follows: the class from netbeans runs, fails to import the image and adjusts the interface accordingly (displays an error in a label) But when i run it in a browser, java console is filled with errors and nothing after the getImageFromClipboard() line works. Although the applet itself loads and does everything it's supposed do do before importing the image. So why am i getting errors if i accept the certificate and all of the possible errors are in try-catch blocks? None of this code should throw any exceptions. Any ideas why this is happening? Or do you need to see the errors to tell? UPDATE I've managed to find out the problem myself. The class that i'm using is not in the jar file :( How do i add it in? I'm using "add jar folder" in netbeans on the libraries package to import it but it does not seem to get copied to the jar.

  • Simple continuously running XMPP client in python

    - by tom
    I'm using python-xmpp to send jabber messages. Everything works fine except that every time I want to send messages (every 15 minutes) I need to reconnect to the jabber server, and in the meantime the sending client is offline and cannot receive messages. So I want to write a really simple, indefinitely running xmpp client, that is online the whole time and can send (and receive) messages when required. My trivial (non-working) approach: import time import xmpp class Jabber(object): def __init__(self): server = 'example.com' username = 'bot' passwd = 'password' self.client = xmpp.Client(server) self.client.connect(server=(server, 5222)) self.client.auth(username, passwd, 'bot') self.client.sendInitPresence() self.sleep() def sleep(self): self.awake = False delay = 1 while not self.awake: time.sleep(delay) def wake(self): self.awake = True def auth(self, jid): self.client.getRoster().Authorize(jid) self.sleep() def send(self, jid, msg): message = xmpp.Message(jid, msg) message.setAttr('type', 'chat') self.client.send(message) self.sleep() if __name__ == '__main__': j = Jabber() time.sleep(3) j.wake() j.send('[email protected]', 'hello world') time.sleep(30) The problem here seems to be that I cannot wake it up. My best guess is that I need some kind of concurrency. Is that true, and if so how would I best go about that? EDIT: After looking into all the options concerning concurrency, I decided to go with twisted and wokkel. If I could, I would delete this post.

    I'm trying to create a deck of cards for my homework. Code is posted below. I need to create four sets of cards (the four suits) and am create a multidimensional array. When I print the results instead of trying to pass the array, I can see that the data in the array is as expected. However, when I try to pass the array card, I get an error cannot find symbol. I have the following simplified code: namespace Silverbits.Applications { public partial class SilverbitsApplication : Application { [Import("MainPage")] public UserControl MainPage { get { return RootVisual as UserControl; } set { RootVisual = value; } } public SilverbitsApplication() { this.Startup += this.SilverbitsApplication_StartUp; this.Exit += new EventHandler(SilverbitsApplication_Exit); this.UnhandledException += this.SilverbitsApplication_UnhandledException; InitializeComponent(); } private void SilverbitsApplication_StartUp(object sender, StartupEventArgs e) { CompositionInitializer.SatisfyImports(this); } } namespace Manpower4U { public class App : SilverbitsApplication { public App() : base() { } } } namespace Manpower4U { [Export("MainPage")] public partial class MainPage : UserControl { public MainPage() { InitializeComponent(); } } } The idea is that I have a Silverbits Library which is a completely different solution. And I have Manpower4U silverlight application that references my Silverbits library. I want to export MainPage from Manpower4U and set it to the RootVisual in my SilverbitsApplication class. SilverbitsApplication class is basically App.xaml/App.cs from the silverlight application, only I put it in a class library and subclassed App.cs file in Manpower4U, which is now the entry point of Manpower4U. MEF cannot resolve the import. How do I get this to work?

  • Generate java class and call it's method dynamically

    - by Jacob
    package reflection; import java.io.*; import java.lang.reflect.*; class class0 { public void writeout0() { System.out.println("class0"); } } class class1 { public void writeout1() { System.out.println("class1"); } } class class2 { public void writeout2() { System.out.println("class2"); } } class class3 { public void run() { try { BufferedReader reader= new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader (System.in)); String line=reader.readLine(); Class cls=Class.forName(line); //define method here } catch(Exception ee) { System.out.println("here "+ee); } } public void writeout3() { System.out.println("class3"); } } class class4 { public void writeout4() { System.out.println("class4"); } } class class5 { public void writeout5() { System.out.println("class5"); } } class class6 { public void writeout6() { System.out.println("class6"); } } class class7 { public void writeout7() { System.out.println("class7"); } } class class8 { public void writeout8() { System.out.println("class8"); } } class class9 { public void writeout9() { System.out.println("class9"); } } class testclass { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Write class name : "); class3 example=new class3(); example.run(); } } Question is ; third class will read the name of the class as String from console. Upon reading the name of the class, it will automatically and dynamically generate that class and call its writeout method.If that class is not read from input, it will not be initialized. but I can't continue any more ; i need to more something for 3.class, what can i do? Thanks;

  • Extracting a .app from a zip file in Python, using ZipFile

    - by Yakattak
    I'm trying to extract new revisions of Chromium.app from their snapshots, and I can download the file fine, but when it comes to extracting it, ZipFile either extracts the chrome-mac folder within as a file, says that directories don't exist, etc. I am very new to python, so these errors make little sense to me. Here is what I have so far. import urllib2 response = urllib2.urlopen('http://build.chromium.org/buildbot/snapshots/chromium-rel-mac/LATEST') latestRev = response.read() print latestRev # we have the revision, now we need to download the zip and extract it latestZip = urllib2.urlopen('http://build.chromium.org/buildbot/snapshots/chromium-rel-mac/%i/chrome-mac.zip' % (int(latestRev)), '~/Desktop/ChromiumUpdate/%i-update' % (int(latestRev))) #declare some vars that hold paths n shit workingDir = '/Users/slehan/Desktop/ChromiumUpdate/' chromiumZipPath = '%s%i-update.zip' % (workingDir, (int(latestRev))) chromiumAppPath = 'chrome-mac/' #the path of the chromium executable within the zip file chromiumAppExtracted = '%s/Chromium.app' % (workingDir) # path of the extracted executable output = open(chromiumZipPath, 'w') #delete any current file there output.write(latestZip.read()) output.close() # we have the .zip now we need to extract the Chromium.app file, it's in ziproot/chrome-mac/Chromium.app import zipfile, os zippedFile = open(chromiumZipPath) zippedChromium = zipfile.ZipFile(zippedFile, 'r') zippedChromium.extract(chromiumAppPath, workingDir) #print zippedChromium.namelist() zippedChromium.close() #zippedChromium.close() Any ideas?

  • Flex 4 - Highlight keywords in a block of text using TextLine

    - by Baz
    I have a search and results page that I would like to highlight the keywords that were searched for, in the text of the results. It was suggested that I use TextLine for this, but I am having trouble figuring out how to make it work. I started a simple, compilable dummy application and was hoping someone could give me some tips on how to continue: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009" xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark" xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx" initialize="initApp();"> <fx:Script> import flash.display.Sprite; import flash.text.engine.*; private var textLine:TextLine; private function initApp():void { var normalFormat:ElementFormat = new ElementFormat(null, 12, 0x000000); var highlightFormat:ElementFormat = new ElementFormat(null, 14, 0xff0000); var textBlock:TextBlock = new TextBlock(new TextElement("This is text that has KEYWORDS. I would like to highlight these KEYWORDS by changing their font color and adding a light yellow background graphic.", normalFormat)); textLine = textBlock.createTextLine(); textLine.y = 100; embeddedFontHolder.addChild(textLine); } </fx:Script> <mx:UIComponent width="100%" id="embeddedFontHolder" /> </s:Application> Anyone have any ideas? Cheers, Baz

  • Dynamically add items to Tkinter Canvas

    - by nick369
    I'm attempting to learn Tkinter with the goal of being able to create a 'real-time' scope to plot data. As a test, I'm trying to draw a polygon on the canvas every time the 'draw' button is pressed. The triangle position is randomized. I have two problems: There is a triangle on the canvas as soon as the program starts, why and how do I fix this? It doesn't draw any triangles when I press the button, at least none that I can see. CODE from Tkinter import * from random import randint class App: def __init__(self,master): #frame = Frame(master) #frame.pack(side = LEFT) self.plotspc = Canvas(master,height = 100, width = 200, bg = "white") self.plotspc.grid(row=0,column = 2, rowspan = 5) self.button = Button(master, text = "Quit", fg = "red", \ command = master.quit) self.button.grid(row=0,column=0) self.drawbutton = Button(master, text = "Draw", command = \ self.pt([50,50])) self.drawbutton.grid(row = 0, column = 1) def pt(self, coords): coords[0] = coords[0] + randint(-20,20) coords[1] = coords[1] + randint(-20,20) x = (0,5,10) y = (0,10,0) xp = [coords[0] + xv for xv in x] yp = [coords[1] + yv for yv in y] ptf = zip(xp,yp) self.plotspc.create_polygon(*ptf) if _name_ == "_main_": root = Tk() app = App(root) root.mainloop() The code is formatting strangely within the code tags, I have no idea how to fix this.
