As per the question title, How could I take a hex code and convert it to a .Net Color object, and do it the other way?
I googled and keep getting the same way which doesn't work.
ColorTranslator.ToHtml(renderedChart.ForeColor)
Which returns the name of the color as in 'White' instead of '#ffffff'! Doing it the other way seems to have odd results, only working some of the time...
My users upload Word 2007 documents to our site and I'd like to load them into a rich edit control of some kind so the users can make modifications/ comment, etc.
What mechanisms are available to:
load the Word document via ASP.NET, and
parse/format/display the document in a rich editing control?
Also, what kinds of rich editing controls are best to use in this circumstance?
My team uses TFS for source control and continuous integration. I'd like to come up with a nice, clean way to show release notes to end users each time we deploy. I'm curious what others are doing to manage release notes in an ASP.NET / TFS environment.
I'm writting my own view engine.
public class MyViewEngine : RazorViewEngine
{
public override ViewEngineResult FindView(ControllerContext controllerContext, string viewName, string masterName, bool useCache)
{
// Here, how do I get attributes defined on top of the Action ?
}
}
ASP.NET MVC Custom Attributes within Custom View Engine
Above SO Question has how to get attributes defined on top of the Controller. But I need to get attributes defined on Action.
I think this is a pretty easy question...How do I make a asp.net function global? e.g. If I have a function GetUserInfo() defined on default.aspx how do I call this function from mypage2.aspx?
Is there a way in .NET to perform the same technique Photoshop uses for Gradient Mapping (Image - Adjustments - Gradient Map [Gradient Editor])? Any ideas, links, code, etc. would be welcome.
I look for a free launcher or bootstrapper that checks whether the .net framework is installed, and starts my app1.exe, or app2.exe if not. Alternatively a louncher that checks for the OS version.
I have a question, which Unicode encoding to use while encoding .NET string into base64? I know strings are UTF-16 encoded on Windows, so is my way of encoding is the right one?
public static String ToBase64String(this String source) {
return Convert.ToBase64String(Encoding.Unicode.GetBytes(source));
}
Hi all,
I have been given a wsdl and have used wsdl.exe to create my proxy classes.
I am able to call the function to initiate the request with some valid parameters and this returns my response object which is always EMPTY.
When i inspect the soap message response using fiddler the soap does have valid data that should be deserialzed to the proxy classes.
Can i manually intercept the derserializing call of the proxy classes generated by wsdl and check that .net is correctly derializing the soap response?
Thank you
I have a .net 4 application that uses a Com Dll to send SMS messages. I used TlbImp to create the interop assembly and that is what is referenced in the application.
When I try to create an instance of this class, it takes a really long time (2-5 seconds).
I ran performance profile in VS 2010 and the call that takes the longest by far is System.Activator.CreateInstance().
I am looking for tips on how to debug or gotchas with using Com Interop.
Looking for a custom ASP .NET control were the InnerHTML of a DIV is connected to a databas to fetch the content to render the HTML content from the databas inside the DIV.

At the last PDC (can't remember which talk it was) they gave us the information that it will be possible to share assemblies between regular .Net 4 and Silverlight 4.
Unfortunately I can't find anything on this. Was this feature dropped? What options/limitations are there?
(There are similar questions on SO but they don't say if they apply to SL3 or 4.)

I have created a ViewUserControl in my ASP.NET MVC 2 project. This ViewUserControl serves as the general page-header for all views in the project.
How can I add a custom property on ViewUserControls, accessible from views using that control?..:

Src="../Shared/Header.ascx"
TagName="Header"
TagPrefix="uc" %>
<uc:Header
runat="server"
ID="ucHeader"
MenuItemHighlighted="Menuitem.FrontPage" /> <!-- custom property, here -->
Hi,
I am having some problems trying to embed Gecko or Firefox into my VB.net application - specifically when running on Vista or Windows 7. Is this possible to do? Or should I look for a different alternative?
Any links to documentation would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

What is the best way to put together a "shortcut" to launch a IronRuby REPL with some .NET assemblies preloaded? I think there is a way to do this in Powershell (via Snapin or Module) and I'm looking for something similar in IronRuby.
Greetings,

First post here.
I have a asp/vb6 web app that logs in a user I want to encrypt the users identity field and pass(querystring) it to a asp.net app and then decrypt it to do a db lookup.
I've google'd it of course and found rot13, not secure enough. I've also found some hits on MD5 / RC4 but did not find any good examples of encrypt / decrypt.
Thanks,
Michael
