  Hello there, I am creating a class in C# which eventually will be part of a library that other uses can use. A user of this class has to set some properties and then use a public method to retrieve the results. What shall I do when a user calls the method without setting all the properties? Throw exception and expect the user to catch it? Thanks

  How can I generate types like these using the System.Reflection.Emit libraries: public class Test<T> {} public class Test<T1, T2> {} When I call ModuleBuilder.DefineType(string) with the second type declaration, I get an exception because there is already another type in the module with the same name (I've already defined the type parameter on the first type).   I am getting a SqlConnection does not support parallel transactions. exception and this answer mentions its when a connection tries to open two transactions. This is exactly what i am doing. I thought nested transactions were ok (i was using sqlite for the prototype). How do i check if the connection is already in a transaction? I am using Microsoft SQL Server Database File.

• Is it standard behavior for this code to throw a NullPointerException?

  I've had a big problem in some library code, which I've pinned down to a single statement: System.out.println((String) null); Ok, the code doesn't actually look like that, but it certainly calls println with a null argument. Doing this causes my whole applicaio to throw an unexpected NullPointerException. In general, should println throw this exception under that circumstance, or is this non-standard behavior due to a poor implementation of the out instance?
