  • Firefox 17.0.1 ignoring font-weight

    - by jphogan
http://iamsinc.com/blog/new-producer-bonus/ For some reason Firefox 17.0.1 on my Windows 7 machine is ignoring the font-weight of the td elements. It should be normal. This works fine in Chrome, IE 7 8, & 9, but not in FF. I have also tested it on an XP machine running 17.0.1 and it works fine. The font-weight should be normal, not bold. In the second box down ($300k level), the font-weight is showing up as bold on Win 7 FF 17.0.1 which pushes the pictures outside of the box. I have even tried reducing the font-weight waaay down and it has not effect on the problematic FF browser Does anybody have a solution or even a work-around? I hate to make the pictures all smaller just to work around this. Thanks!

  • CSV file download ignored in ie8/9

    - by JBB
    I have some code in a button click event which gets a csv string from a hidden input and writes it to the response as a CSV file. This work fine in Chrome, Firefox, ie7, ie9 in quirks mode. However it does not work in ie8 or ie9 default. Looking at this in fiddler the csv is being written to the response but the another get request is being made immediately after and the page reloads. No file saving dialog appears. protected void btnCsvHidden_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { var csv = csvString.Value; var filename = "Reporting"; Response.Clear(); Response.ClearHeaders(); Response.AddHeader("Cache-Control", "no-store, no-cache"); Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "attachment; filename=\"" + filename + ".csv\""); Response.ContentType = "text/csv"; Response.Write(csv); Response.End(); }

  • What is the best way to prevent a webpage coded completely in HTML (no PHP or any server side langua

    - by racl101
I thought by placing these two lines that it would prevent the page from being cached but this is not the case between the head tags: <meta http-equiv="pragma" content="no-cache" /> <meta http-equiv="cache-control" content="no-cache" /> As already mentioned this is on server that doesn't support PHP (or any server side language, well, that's not true, it has cgi-bin folder that supports perl scripts but I don't know perl and have no time to engage in it.) What else could I do to prevent the page from caching? It caches on Firefox and IE (and not so much in Chrome or Safari.)

I have a table being created from a MYSQL query and i would like the table to be able to be saved as a CSV. Could anyone help me out?

  • Possible to use Javascript to access the client side's network(knowingly)

    - by Earlz
I recently found an exploit in my router to basically give me root access. The catch? There is a nonce hidden form value that is randomly generated and must be sent in for it to work that makes it difficult to do "easily" So basically I'm wanting to do something like this in javascript: get http://192.168.1.254/blah use a regex or similar to extract the nonce value put the nonce value into a hidden field in the current page submit the form by POST to http://192.168.1.254/blah complete with the nonce value and other form values I want to send in. Is this at all possible using only HTML and Javascript? I'm open to things like "must save HTML file locally and then open", which I'm thinking is one way around the cross domain policy. But anyway, is this at all possible? I'm hoping for this to be able to run from at least Firefox and Chrome. The audience for this is those with some technical know how.

  • jQuery click listener on <object> in IE failing

    - by Steve Meisner
$("#listView object.modal").click(function(){ // Get the ID of the clicked link: var link = $(this).closest("h2").attr("title"); var id = $(this).closest("div").attr("id"); showDialog(link, id); return false; }); This fires a modal (jQuery UI). It it working in FF, Chrome/Safari but not in IE 7/8. Is there something I'm missing here? Big Picture: We're using a swf to render custom type and there is a link in the rendered (flash) content. We're hoping to catch the link action in the jQuery listener so we don't have to extend our swf have an optional param to return false on link click. We thought we got around it, until IE testing commenced... Let me know if any more info is needed. Thanks!

  • Checking if cookies are enabled doesn't work in IE8

    - by the_V
Hi, I'm trying to create a script that would determine if cookies are enabled and do some work if not. This is the code I use: var cookieEnabled = (window.navigator.cookieEnabled) ? true : false; if (typeof navigator.cookieEnabled == "undefined" && !cookieEnabled) { document.cookie = "testcookie" cookieEnabled = (document.cookie.indexOf("testcookie") != -1) ? true : false } if (cookieEnabled == false) { // do some work } The problem is that in IE8 it causes nothing to happen when I set cookies to be blocked in browser options. So, navigator.cookieEnabled is always true. This stuff works perfectly in Chrome and FireFox. Am I doing anything wrong?

  • IE8 is still caching my requests even with mathrandom.

    - by Ozaki
TLDR IE is still caching my requests even with Math.random() included in the URL. So I added math random onto the end of my url: var MYKMLURL = 'http://' + host + 'data/pattern?key='+ Math.random(); I also added math random onto my function param: window.setTimeout(RefreshPatternData, 1000, MYKMLLAYER); function RefreshPatternData(layer) { layer.loaded = false; layer.setVisibility(true); layer.refresh({ force: true, params: { 'key': Math.random()} }); setTimeout(RefreshPatternData, 30000, MYKMLLAYER); } So the request appears as http://host/data/pattern?key=35678652545 etc. It changes everytime the request is made. It works in Firefox & Chrome & Safari etc. But IE8 is still caching the data and not updating my layer. Any ideas as to why this might be occuring?

  • Button border radius and cursor

    - by noober
CSS border radius does affect button rendering (I see it's round form), but does not affect how it interacts with the user (I still can click button outside its border). How should I fix it? I see the behavior in Chrome. button { cursor: pointer; outline: none; background-size: 100% 100%; background-color: red; /*transparent;*/ /* It's actually red and ROUND. */ background-position: center center; background-repeat: no-repeat; border: 0px; -webkit-border-top-left-radius: 73px; -webkit-border-top-right-radius: 73px; -webkit-border-bottom-left-radius: 73px; -webkit-border-bottom-right-radius: 73px; width: 146px; height: 146px; background-image: url('leftarrow.png'); } Regards,

  • Why does Microsoft's IE even exists?

    - by Pablo
For real what is the point? Why can't it display pages properly like Chrome, safari or Firefox? If you want to make a web application (modern 2.0 site) that supports IE you will end up almost doubling your coding time as IE has its own interpretation of things. PLUS they just keep on changing how it renders pages from version to version (5,6,7,8) unbelievable. Microsoft hates web designers. i used to handle rendering problems with extra JS scripts and CSS files but i had enoughs of this $hit all over my pages: <!--[if IE]> .... <!--[if IE 8]> .... <!--[if IE 7]> .... <!--[if IE 6]> .... No more IE support for any of my projects, So you guys think im exaggerating or IE is really a pain in the @@$?

  • How to reset persistent scrollbar position after div refresh in FF3?

    - by rcon
Hi, I'm experiencing a weird scrollbar issue. I'm building a page that uses jQuery and PHP to dynamically load images into a DIV sequentially. This DIV is a fixed height but uses a scrollbar for its variable width. The problem is that the scrollbar does not reset after a dynamic refresh of the DIV. So when the user scrolls and then refreshes with new content, the scroll bar position stays persistent instead of resetting back to the left. This seems to only happen in FF3. The scrollbar resets perfectly fine in Chrome, Safari, and IE8. For each refresh, the DIV is hidden, emptied, sized with CSS, then sequentially appended with images. I've tried resetting white-space: normal before the nowrap, playing around with overflow, and also jQuery's scrollLeft to no avail. It still behaves strangely in FF3, and only FF3. http://www.shadowshapes.com/uttdev/ Click a thumbnail, move the scrollbar then click another thumb. Thanks for any help!

  • Jquery can't get form data in opera

    - by Rick de Graaf
I can't understand why in Opera and IE the following code does not work... $("#form_" + $(this).attr('id')).serialize(); I checked it by only getting the attribute; worked I checked if I could get the form data without serialize; worked How should I code this? Tried a lot of combinations and stuff but nothing works.. why does this isn't working in opera? In chrome I have no problems... To answer some of the questions below I have multiple forms on my page, each with an unique id (from_1, form_5 etc.) I checked this and is correct. The form data needs to be fetched when a select changes, so data call is fired by an change event.

  • jQuery/Javascript problem with IE

    - by Shadyn
I have two radio buttons each with a unique ID. When one is clicked, I would like to add $10 to a total. When the other is clicked, we go back to the original total price. My jquery looks like this: function check_ceu() { var price = <%= conference_price %>; if($('#ceu_yes').is(':checked')){ $('#total').val(parseFloat(price) + 10) } else{ $('#total').val(price) } } I have this function bound to document.ready (for page refreshes) and also the onchange handler of the radio buttons. In FF and Chrome this works fine. In IE, when the radio button with ID of "ceu_yes" is checked nothing happens, then when clicking back to the other radio button, 10 is added. So in essence, IE has the checkbox functionality reversed. Below is my code for the buttons: <input type="radio" name="ceu" id="ceu_yes" value="1" onchange="check_ceu()" /> $10 <input type="radio" name="ceu" id="ceu_no" value="0" checked="checked" onchange="check_ceu()" /> No, thank you Any ideas on this?

  • Why does this JavaScript destroys my layout in Internet Explorer?

    - by Sebi
I'm using a small CMS for a small site (http://www.ovlu.li/cms/). There I include a JavaScript on the first site to open an image in a popup: <script type="text/javascript"> function pop(file) { helpwindow = window.open(file, "Vaterland", "width=600, height=796", "directories=no", "toolbar=no", "location=no", "status=no", "menubar=no", "resizable=no"); helpwindow.focus(); return false; } </script> This works fine in FireFox, Chrome and Safari, but unfortunately, in Internet Explorer this script totally destroys the layout of the site where it is contained. Nevertheless it works. And all other sites are also working correctly. Any hints?

  • Robust Way of Selecting All Text in Textbox

    - by Emil
I'm trying to have the content of the an HTML textbox be selected fully onFocus. I know the simple solution of putting a onfocus="this.select()" on the component but this is not a good solution because if a user double clicks into the area the selection is lost and in browsers like chrome it is rarely working like it should and just reverts into input form. I have searched on Google for a little while and can't find a good solution, most suggestions are of this simple solution. What I would like it is that the selection inside the textbox not change once selected and if possible the user should not be able to edit the content of the textbox, for example if you have used AdSense when you grab code from AdSense the selection never changes and your unable to alter the code in the textbox. Any solutions would be appreciated.
