  • bluetooth GPS device in J2ME emulator / Wireless Toolkit

    - by hsmit
I'm developing a j2me application for my mobile phone (a Nokia). I'm using WTK (Wireless Toolkit) to test my code. Because I'm using a GPS device via a Bluetooth connection, I would like to be able to extend the emulator with bluetooth possibilities. Has anyone experience with BT & WTK? according to this article there is no way to do it by default. Any other ideas?

  • How Do I Setup Multiple Stores Using Magento Like Their Demo?

    - by FergatROn
I'm playing with Magento and I figured out how to create multiple websites and stores and store views, but when I go back to the home page it certainly doesn't look as cool as the Magento Demo (http://www.magento-mall.com/). Are the tabs something they did in the HTML and the store domains are really masking to the ugly store URL? Example: www.kayferg-store1.com = masks to beta.kayferg.com/magento/index.php/?___store=[STORE1] www.kayferg-store2.com = masks to beta.kayferg.com/magento/index.php/?___store=[STORE2]

  • ASP.Net MVC Exception Logging combined with Error Handling

    - by Saajid Ismail
Hi. I am looking for a simple solution to do Exception Logging combined with Error Handling in my ASP.Net MVC 1.0 application. I've read lots of articles, including Questions posted here on StackOverflow, which all provide varying solutions for different situations. I am still unable to come up with a solution that suits my needs. Here are my requirements: To be able to use the [HandleError] attribute (or something equivalent) on my Controller, to handle all exceptions that could be thrown from any of the Actions or Views. This should handle all exceptions that were not handled specifically on any of the Actions (as described in point 2). I would like to be able to specify which View a user must be redirected to in error cases, for all actions in the Controller. I want to be able to specify the [HandleError] attribute (or something equivalent) at the top of specific Actions to catch specific exceptions and redirect users to a View appropriate to the exception. All other exceptions must still be handled by the [HandleError] attribute on the Controller. In both cases above, I want the exceptions to be logged using log4net (or any other logging library). How do I go about achieving the above? I've read about making all my Controllers inherit from a base controller which overrides the OnException method, and wherein I do my logging. However this will mess around with redirecting users to the appropriate Views, or make it messy. I've read about writing my own Filter Action which implements IExceptionFilter to handle this, but this will conflict with the [HandleError] attribute. So far, my thoughts are that the best solution is to write my own attribute that inherits from HandleErrorAttribute. That way I get all the functionality of [HandleError], and can add my own log4net logging. The solution is as follows: public class HandleErrorsAttribute: HandleErrorAttribute { private log4net.ILog log = log4net.LogManager.GetLogger(System.Reflection.MethodBase.GetCurrentMethod().DeclaringType); public override void OnException(ExceptionContext filterContext) { if (filterContext.Exception != null) { log.Error("Error in Controller", filterContext.Exception); } base.OnException(filterContext); } } Will the above code work for my requirements? If not, what solution does fulfill my requirements?

  • HTML APIs for touch devices?

    - by askvictor
What HTML APIs are available for touch screen devices (e.g. tablet PCs)? I notice that GMail's iPad interface (and other mobile interfaces) doesn't scroll down in a normal web browser (pretending to be an iPad via a user-agent hack). How can one access this API on a PC? I have a school full of tablet PCs that aren't wonderful in tablet mode due to lack of application support, but there looks to be an increasing number of web-based apps that will fill this gap.

  • Why aren't the :locals hash variables being passed in to a partial, when called from inside my rake

    - by marshally
    I need to render a bunch of painfully long running partials using a rake task. When I try to pull the partial from a rake task, I get the dreaded "Called id for nil, which would mistakenly be 4" error, which usually means that my locals hash has not been properly set into the partial. Here's the rake task (some variable names have been changed to protect the innocent): namespace :precache do desc "Precache stuff" task :precache => :environment do av = ActionView::Base.new(Rails::Configuration.new.view_path, {}) av.class_eval do include ApplicationHelper end @user = User.find(21) @rank = Rank.find(2) data = av.render(:partial => "reports/listing", :locals => {:user => @user, :rank => @rank}) end end And this is the error that I am getting: ** Execute precache:precache rake aborted! Called id for nil, which would mistakenly be 4 -- if you really wanted the id of nil, use object_id On line #1 of app/views/reports/listing.html.erb 1: <%- @rid = @rank.id %> 2: <%- @cid = @user.id %> 3: <%- cache(:action => 'reports', :key => [arg1, arg2, arg3] ) do %> 4: <%- app/views/reports/_downline_js.html.erb:1 lib/tasks/precache_fragments.rake:12 rake (0.8.7) lib/rake.rb:636:in `call' rake (0.8.7) lib/rake.rb:636:in `execute' rake (0.8.7) lib/rake.rb:631:in `each' rake (0.8.7) lib/rake.rb:631:in `execute' rake (0.8.7) lib/rake.rb:597:in `invoke_with_call_chain' /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/monitor.rb:242:in `synchronize' rake (0.8.7) lib/rake.rb:590:in `invoke_with_call_chain' rake (0.8.7) lib/rake.rb:583:in `invoke' rake (0.8.7) lib/rake.rb:2051:in `invoke_task' rake (0.8.7) lib/rake.rb:2029:in `top_level' rake (0.8.7) lib/rake.rb:2029:in `each' rake (0.8.7) lib/rake.rb:2029:in `top_level' rake (0.8.7) lib/rake.rb:2068:in `standard_exception_handling' rake (0.8.7) lib/rake.rb:2023:in `top_level' rake (0.8.7) lib/rake.rb:2001:in `run' rake (0.8.7) lib/rake.rb:2068:in `standard_exception_handling' rake (0.8.7) lib/rake.rb:1998:in `run' rake (0.8.7) bin/rake:31 /usr/bin/rake:19:in `load' /usr/bin/rake:19 details: I'm using Rails 2.3.5 and Ruby 1.8.7.   • .NETCF Component that allows entering a signature

    - by Vaccano
I need a component that will allow me to enter a signature on a Windows Mobile 5 device. I need to integrate it into my .NETCF program. I would prefer it be free (getting budget approval takes so long). (I have seen the "for pay" one by Resco.) I would need to end up storing the signature in a SQL Server database (it has to be able to serialize). If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them.

  • Android 2.2 - and exchange password policy enforcement

    - by Moshe
Hi, In Android 2.2 site (link text it's written: Improved security with the addition of numeric pin or alpha-numeric password options to unlock device. Exchange administrators can enforce password policy across devices But while I'm using N1 with 2.2 and try to connect to my company exchange server it didn't enforce me to set a password, although connecting to the same server from Windows Mobile 6 device enforce this. I know that exchange server is configured to enforce password. Is there anything special the administrator need to do? Thank you, Moshe

  • Using a custom form in a modelformset factory?

    - by jamida
I'd like to be able to use a customized form in a modelformset_factory. For example: models.py class Author(models.Model): name = models.CharField() address = models.CharField() class AuthorForm(ModelForm): class Meta: model = Author views.py def test_render(request): myModelFormset = modelformset_factory(Author) items = Author.objects.all() formsetInstance = myModelFormset(queryset = items) return render_to_response('template',locals()) The above code works just fine, but note I'm NOT using AuthorForm. The question is how can I get the modelformset_factory to use the AuthorForm (which I plan to customize later) instead of making a default Author form?

Hey everyone, Is there any way to change the order of the columns phppgadmin views when browsing tables without having to change the underlying db? I have a few columns that I want seperated by heaps of unimportant ones and then a few more important ones at the end. The problem is that the important ones on the right are way of the screen so its hard to check visually if data has been inputed correctly. Cheers

  • HTTP Request from a PC to load the contents of a wap site

    - by cocoatoucher
When I try to load a wap site with PHP HTTP request from my PC, host of the web site recognizes that I'm sending the request from a PC and redirects me to their actual web site and I can't load the wap site. Is there a way to behave like a mobile browser and prevent this redirection? Although an answer regarding any programming language is ok, a php specific answer will be better.

I want to make a set of objects the global selection from a IHandler but this can be triggered from other views out of my control - it is possible that these do not have an ISelectionProvider. Is it possible to publish a selection to the eclipse selection service without going through some view site?

  • How to hide/show controls in UITableViewCell when it goes in/out of editing mode?

    - by Aleksandar Vacic
I have few custom controls (image views) added programmatically to table cell. I want to hide them when table view goes into editing mode and show them again when view gets out of editing mode. I'm not using UITableViewCell subclasses, controls are added through tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath: method. When and where should I do the hide/show? I'm wondering is this even possible without subclassing (where I could do this in layoutSubviews)...
