  • jQuery ajax Data Sent to Controller are Empty only in IE

    - by saman gholami
    This is my jQuery code : $.ajax({ url: "/Ajax/GetConcertTime", type: "POST", cache: false, data: { concertID: concertID.replace("ct", ""), date: selectedDateValue }, success: function (dataFromServer) { //some codes ... }, error: function (a, b, c) { alert(c); } }); And this is my controller code for catching parameters : [HttpPost] public ActionResult GetConcertTime(string concertId, string date) { int cid = Convert.ToInt32(concertId); try { MelliConcertEntities db = new MelliConcertEntities(); var lst = (from x in db.Showtimes where x.Concert.ID == cid && x.ShowtimeDate.Equals(date) && x.IsActive == true select x.ShowtimeTime).Distinct().ToList(); JavaScriptSerializer js = new JavaScriptSerializer(); return Content(js.Serialize(lst)); } catch (Exception ex) { return Content(ex.Message); } } After debugging i know the parameters in Controller (concertId and date) are empty when i useing IE browser.but in other browser it's work properly. What should i do for this issue?

  • Why does this Razor syntax gives compilation errors?

    - by dotnetN00b
    I either get a "you need a ; here" or a "best overloaded match has invalid arguments" errors. <tbody> <tr> @for (int i = 0; i < startDay; ++i) { @:<td><span></span><span></span></td> } @for (int j = startDay; j < ((numberOfDays + startDay) - 1); ++j) { <td> <span>@startCount</span> <br /> <span> @{ var todaysEvents = Model.ToList().FindAll(d => d.CalDate.Day == j); foreach(HTMLMVCCalendar.Models.CalendarModel eventsToday in todaysEvents) { foreach(HTMLMVCCalendar.Models.EventModel eventToday in eventsToday.CalEvents) { @eventToday.DayCode.ToString // error here @:<br /> @eventToday.Subject // error here @:<br /> @eventToday.EventDesc //error here } @:<br /> } } </span> </td> if ((j + 1) % 7 == 0) { @:</tr><tr> } @++startCount; } </tr> </tbody>

  • How to serialize each item in IEnumerable for ajax post

    - by bflemi3
    I have a PartialView that displays IEnumerable<Movie>. _MoviePartial.cshtml @foreach(var movie in Model) { <div class="content"> <span class="image"><img src="@movie.Posters.Profile" alt="@movie.Title"/></span> <span class="title">@movie.Title</span> <div class="score`"> <span class="critics-score">@movie.Ratings.CriticsScore</span> <span class="audience-score">@movie.Ratings.AudienceScore</span> </div> @Html.ActionLink("Add Movie", "Add", "MyMovies") </div> } When the user clicks the "Add Movie" ActionLink I am going to do an ajax post to add the selected movie to the users collection. My problem is that I would like to send the entire selected Movie class to the "Add" action but not sure how to serialize each movie since the entire Movie class is not rendered in the PartialView, just a few properties. I know I can serialize something like this... <script type="text/javascript"> var obj = @Html.Raw(Json.Encode(movie)); </script> But I'm not sure how that would work inside a foreach loop that renders html, especially inside a PartialView. So, just to be clear, when a user clicks the "Add Movie" ActionLink I would like to send the serialized Movie class for that respective movie to my controller via ajax. My questions is... Is there a better way to serialize each movie and append it to it's respective anchor? I know there's the data- html5 attribute but I thought they only allow string values, not json objects. I also know I could use jQuery's .data() function but I'm struggling to think through how to get that to run from a PartialView, especially since the html rendered by _MoviePartial.cshtml may be returned from a controller via ajax.

  • RegularExpressionValidator always fails, but ValidationExpression works in testing

    - by Jerph
    I found the answer to this, but it's a bit of a gotcha so I wanted to share it here. I have a regular expression that validates passwords. They should be 7 to 60 characters with at least one numeric and one alpha character. Pretty standard. I used positive lookaheads (the (?= operator) to implement it: (?=^.{7,60}$)(?=.*[0-9].*)(?=.*[a-zA-Z].*) I checked this expression in my unit tests using Regex.IsMatch(), and it worked fine. However, when I use it in a RegularExpressionValidator, it always fails. Why?

  • How to use RedirectToAction to redirect to the default action of different controller?

    - by atbebtg
    I am trying to do a RedirectToAction from http://mywebsite/Home/ using the following code: return RedirectToAction("Index","Profile", new { id = formValues["id"] }); The above code will succesfully take me to http://mywebsite/Profile/Index/223224 What do I have to do to make it redirect to http://mywebsite/Profile/223224 Thank you. I figured out how to do this. First I have to add custom route rule: routes.MapRoute("Profile", "Profile/{id}", new { controller = "Profile", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional }); Then I can do the following: [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public RedirectResult Index(FormCollection formValues) { return Redirect("~/Survey/" + formValues["Id"]); }

  • II7 integrated mode MVC deploy 404 not found on "non-Index" actions

    - by majkinetor
    Hello. Once deployed parts of my web-application stop working. Index-es on each controller do work, other then that yields 404. I understand that nothing particular should be done in integrated mode. I don't know how to proceed with troubleshooting. Some info: App is using default app pool set to integrated mode. WebApp is done in net framework 3.5. I use default routing model. Along web.config in root there is web.config in /View folder referencing HttpNotFoundHandler. OS is Windows Server 2008. Any help is appreciated. Thx.

  • Question and Answers form & controller problem

    - by user285245
    Hi, I have a Question table and an Answers table linked by questionID (1 to many). I'd like to be able to update both table from the one form. I can easily add a question but to have it also add the answers (into their own recordsets) is causing a headache. how do I set my form up to allow for the answers to be created and also what do I do in the Controller. Any help would be gratefully appreciated as I've not been able to locate any good examples on the web. thanks in advance.

  • Putting logic in ViewModel get'ers

    - by Yngvebn
    What do you think about putting Get-logic in the getters of a ViewModel? Something like: public class DummyViewModel { public int Id { get; set; } private DummyObject myObject; public DummyObject MyObject { get { if (MyObject == null) { DummyRepository repo = new DummyRepository(); myObject = repo.Get(Id); } return myObject; } } } Is this bad practice, or totally fine? I find my controllers getting really bloated by doing all the get-logic there, but I'm really torn as to where I should put it... My reason for doing it this way, is that I can pass the ViewModel to different types of view, and only the neccessary DB-lookup will be performed based on what property is requested.

  • C# Can I return HttpWebResponse result to iframe - Uses Digest authentication

    - by chadsxe
    I am trying to figure out a way to display a cross-domain web page that uses Digest Authentication. My initial thought was to make a web request and return the entire page source. I currently have no issues with authenticating and getting a response but I am not sure how to properly return the needed data. // Create a request for the URL. WebRequest request = WebRequest.Create("http://some-url/cgi/image.php?type=live"); // Set the credentials. request.Credentials = new NetworkCredential(username, password); // Get the response. HttpWebResponse response = (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse(); // Get the stream containing content returned by the server. Stream dataStream = response.GetResponseStream(); // Open the stream using a StreamReader for easy access. StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(dataStream); // Read the content. string responseFromServer = reader.ReadToEnd(); // Clean up the streams and the response. reader.Close(); dataStream.Close(); response.Close(); return responseFromServer; My problems are currently... responseFromServer is not returning the entire source of the page. I.E. missing body and head tags The data is encoded improperly in responseFromServer. I believe this has something to do with the transfer encoding being of the type chunked. Further more... I am not entirely sure if this is even possible. If it matters, this is being done in ASP.NET MVC 4 C#. Thanks, Chad

  • Model binding nested collections in ASP.NET MVC

    - by MartinHN
    Hi I'm using Steve Sanderson's BeginCollectionItem helper with ASP.NET MVC 2 to model bind a collection if items. That works fine, as long as the Model of the collection items does not contain another collection. I have a model like this: -Product --Variants ---IncludedAttributes Whenever I render and model bind the Variants collection, it works jusst fine. But with the IncludedAttributes collection, I cannot use the BeginCollectionItem helper because the id and names value won't honor the id and names value that was produced for it's parent Variant: <div class="variant"> <input type="hidden" value="bbd4fdd4-fa22-49f9-8a5e-3ff7e2942126" autocomplete="off" name="Variants.index"> <input type="hidden" value="0" name="Variants[bbd4fdd4-fa22-49f9-8a5e-3ff7e2942126].SlotAmount" id="Variants_bbd4fdd4-fa22-49f9-8a5e-3ff7e2942126__SlotAmount"> <table class="included-attributes"> <input type="hidden" value="0" name="Variants.IncludedAttributes[c5989db5-b1e1-485b-b09d-a9e50dd1d2cb].Id" id="Variants_IncludedAttributes_c5989db5-b1e1-485b-b09d-a9e50dd1d2cb__Id" class="attribute-id"> <tr> <td> <input type="hidden" value="0" name="Variants.IncludedAttributes[c5989db5-b1e1-485b-b09d-a9e50dd1d2cb].Id" id="Variants_IncludedAttributes_c5989db5-b1e1-485b-b09d-a9e50dd1d2cb__Id" class="attribute-id"> </td> </tr> </table> </div> If you look at the name of the first hidden field inside the table, it is Variants.IncludedAttributes - where it should have been Variants[bbd4fdd4-fa22-49f9-8a5e-3ff7e2942126].IncludedAttributes[...]... That is because when I call BeginCollectionItem the second time (On the IncludedAttributes collection) there's given no information about the item index value of it's parent Variant. My code for rendering a Variant looks like this: <div class="product-variant round-content-box grid_6" data-id="<%: Model.AttributeType.Id %>"> <h2><%: Model.AttributeType.AttributeTypeName %></h2> <div class="box-content"> <% using (Html.BeginCollectionItem("Variants")) { %> <div class="slot-amount"> <label class="inline" for="slotAmountSelectList"><%: Text.amountOfThisVariant %>:</label> <select id="slotAmountSelectList"><option value="1">1</option><option value="2">2</option></select> </div> <div class="add-values"> <label class="inline" for="txtProductAttributeSearch"><%: Text.addVariantItems %>:</label> <input type="text" id="txtProductAttributeSearch" class="product-attribute-search" /><span><%: Text.or %> <a class="select-from-list-link" href="#select-from-list" data-id="<%: Model.AttributeType.Id %>"><%: Text.selectFromList.ToLowerInvariant() %></a></span> <div class="clear"></div> </div> <%: Html.HiddenFor(m=>m.SlotAmount) %> <div class="included-attributes"> <table> <thead> <tr> <th><%: Text.name %></th> <th style="width: 80px;"><%: Text.price %></th> <th><%: Text.shipping %></th> <th style="width: 90px;"><%: Text.image %></th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <% for (int i = 0; i < Model.IncludedAttributes.Count; i++) { %> <tr><%: Html.EditorFor(m => m.IncludedAttributes[i]) %></tr> <% } %> </tbody> </table> </div> <% } %> </div> </div> And the code for rendering an IncludedAttribute: <% using (Html.BeginCollectionItem("Variants.IncludedAttributes")) { %> <td> <%: Model.AttributeName %> <%: Html.HiddenFor(m => m.Id, new { @class = "attribute-id" })%> <%: Html.HiddenFor(m => m.ProductAttributeTypeId) %> </td> <td><%: Model.Price.ToCurrencyString() %></td> <td><%: Html.DropDownListFor(m => m.RequiredShippingTypeId, AppData.GetShippingTypesSelectListItems(Model.RequiredShippingTypeId)) %></td> <td><%: Model.ImageId %></td> <% } %>

  • Writing files in App_Data causes tempdata to be null

    - by RAMX
    I have a small asp.net MVC 1 web app that can store files and create directories in the App_Data directory. When the write operation succeeds, I add a message to the tempdata and do a redirectToRoute. The problem is that the tempdata is null when the action is executed. If i write the files in a directory outside of the web applications root directory, the tempdata is not null and everything works correctly. Any ideas why writing in the app_data seems to clear the tempdata ? edit: if DRS.Logic.Repository.Manager.CreateFile(path, hpf, comment) writes in the App_Data, TempData will be null in the action being redirected to. if it is a directory out of the web app root it is fine. No exceptions are being thrown. [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Create(int id, string path, FormCollection form) { ViewData["path"] = path; ViewData["id"] = id; HttpPostedFileBase hpf; string comment = form["FileComment"]; hpf = Request.Files["File"] as HttpPostedFileBase; if (hpf.ContentLength != 0) { DRS.Logic.Repository.Manager.CreateFile(path, hpf, comment); TempData["notification"] = "file was created"; return RedirectToRoute(new { controller = "File", action ="ViewDetails", id = id, path = path + Path.GetFileName(hpf.FileName) }); } else { TempData["notification"] = "No file were selected."; return View(); } }

  • An unhandled exception of type 'System.StackOverflowException' occurred in mscorlib.dll

    - by mazhar
    Ok the thing is that I am using asp.net mvc with linq to sql. I have a scenario where there are two tables group and features with many to many relationship with the third table groupfeatures. I have drag and drop all three table in the dbml file. The thing is that it runs fine with group but when I call the Feature things the above error occured and the compilers stops at this line in ((())). public partial class EgovtDataContext : System.Data.Linq.DataContext { private static System.Data.Linq.Mapping.MappingSource mappingSource = new AttributeMappingSource(); #region Extensibility Method Definitions partial void OnCreated(); partial void InsertGroup(Group instance); partial void UpdateGroup(Group instance); partial void DeleteGroup(Group instance); partial void InsertFeature(Feature instance); partial void UpdateFeature(Feature instance); partial void DeleteFeature(Feature instance); partial void InsertGroupFeature(GroupFeature instance); partial void UpdateGroupFeature(GroupFeature instance); partial void DeleteGroupFeature(GroupFeature instance); #endregion (((public EgovtDataContext() : base(global::System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["egovtsConnectionString"].ConnectionString, mappingSource)))) The code in both the controller Group and features file is ditto copied. Note the group things are working, the features things are not. FeaturesRepository.cs public IQueryable<Feature> FindAllFeatures() { return db.Features; } FeaturesController.cs FeaturesRepository FeatureRepository = new FeaturesRepository(); public ActionResult Index() { var Feature = FeatureRepository.FindAllFeatures(); return View(Feature); } So what could be wrong?

  • When I use a form to call a method on the controller, I want the page to refresh, and the url to sho

    - by MedicineMan
    Using ASP MVC, I have set up a webpage for localhost/Dinner/100 to show the dinner details for dinner with ID = 100. On the page, there is a dropdown that shows Dinner 1, Dinner 2, etc. The user should select the dinner of interest (Dinner 2, ID = 102) off the form and press submit. The page should refresh and show the url: localhost/Dinner/102, and show the details of dinner 2. My code is working except for the url. During this, my url shows localhost/Dinner/100 even though it is correctly displaying the details of Dinner 2 (ID = 102). My controller method is pretty simple: public ActionResult Index(string id) { int Id = 0; if (!IsValidFacilityId(id) || !int.TryParse(id, out Id)) { return Redirect("/"); } return View(CreateViewModel(Id)); } can you help me figure out how to get this all working? p.s. I did create a custom route for the method: routes.MapRoute( "DinnerDefault", // Route name "Dinner/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Dinner", action = "Index", id = "" } // Parameter defaults );

  • sharp architecture question

    - by csetzkorn
    I am trying to get my head around the sharp architecture and follow the tutorial. I am using this code: using Bla.Core; using System.Collections.Generic; using Bla.Core.DataInterfaces; using System.Web.Mvc; using SharpArch.Core; using SharpArch.Web; using Bla.Web; namespace Bla.Web.Controllers { public class UsersController { public UsersController(IUserRepository userRepository) { Check.Require(userRepository != null,"userRepository may not be null"); this.userRepository = userRepository; } public ActionResult ListStaffMembersMatching(string filter) { List<User> matchingUsers = userRepository.FindAllMatching(filter); return View("ListUsersMatchingFilter", matchingUsers); } private readonly IUserRepository userRepository; } } I get this error: The name 'View' does not exist in the current context I have used all the correct using statements and referenced the assemblies as far as I can see. The views live in Bla.Web in this architecture. Can anyone see the problem? Thanks. Christian
