• Burn a DVD to play video on standalone player and include autorun program for PC

  Can you burn a DVD film that will play on a standard DVD player but also include on the disk some pc readable files that would auto launch on a PC? I want to create a dvd disk that essentailly has 2 purposes: When a DVD is inserted into a standard DVD player it plays like a normal DVD film, i.e. you get the DVD menu and you can play the movie When you insert the dvd into a pc it auto launches an exe file and behaves like a normal data disk.

  Hello all, I'm using Windows Vista, and I was wondering if I can put shortcuts for applications.Like for example, if I press a certain combination of keys I get notepad, or something like that. If those shortcuts were already there, how can I know them? Another thing, if I have an application that runs on media files for example, can I add it on the " Right Click" menu when I right click on media files. I hope you got that :) Thanks alot :)

• Running programs by typing some alias in Windows

  Is there an easy way in windows to set a given string, like "sidb" to run a program or open a given folder in Windows? My original idea was to be able to run commands like that in the "Execute" start button menu (or Win + R),so I'd just have to do WIN+R and type "sidb". What is the best way to accomplish this? EDIT: May I rephrase this as : Is there a way to define for example, in systems variables, sibd="C:.......blabla\ and then I'd just have to type "sibd" in Run?

The need is; they should open in the current window. Note that, bookmarks menu works as expected and opens bookmarks in current window, the same is needed on bookmarks toolbar.   I have several copies/instances of my xp mode image and have a bunch of apps that were auto-published to Win7. I have since disabled the "auto-publish" apps in the instances but still have the applications listed. What is the correct/best way to clear them out. I read a post somewhere that you can just delete the shortcut in the start menu but I want to remove all links and don't know if that would suffice? Thanks TK

  When an LDAP user logs into the system they have incorrect permissions to their home directory. LDAP and NFS services exist on the same server. • Word in office 2007 and Windows 7 ultimate cant navigate to folders

  In word 2007 I click office button top left I click open, I get the open box, in the top address bar, I if I click on the down arrow far right (previous Locations) the drop down menu is empty just a box with nothing in it. To go anywhere from here I have to navigate via the left had pane, on all other windows systems this dropdown has enabled me to go to any location on my computer. I'm wondering if because all my word documents are on my D drive that windows 7 doesn't like it.

• Ubuntu 10.04 boot splash screen and themes broken

  I recently upgraded to the release candidate of Ubuntu 10.04. Since then, two problems have occurred and persisted: the boot splash screen has reduced down to a black screen with random color blocks/text/gibberish at the top; and the themes are broken, as in the light themes have checkboxes in menus the same color as the background, and the dark themes don't correctly change the font colors in the top menu. Help? On a side note, is there a need to upgrade from 10.04 RC to LTS?

• Efficient way to secure tomcat database connections

  Our customer has a problem with database information in plaintext within a server.xml or context.xml file on the Tomcat server. I've looked at several sites like OWASP and it seems like there's no obvious solution. I've also seen things like this wordpress blog which describe implementing a custom Tomcat extension to do this. There must exist some standard implementation(s) already without having to roll your own. Does anyone have experience with such a solution?
