  • Displaying Multiple RSS Feeds with PHP

    - by Jack
Does anyone know how to do this? I know how to display a single feed as a simple list, but it gets more complicated. I want to display a list but have multiple sources, with each source having the list-style-image be specific. Example: (img1) This is data from rss feed 1 (img2) This is data from rss feed 2 Thanks so much for the help!

  • how to watch input buttons with specified name?

    - by user393087
For example I have long list of buttons: <input type=button name=clickbutton onclick='dosomething(this)'> But instead of putting call to the same funcion in every button it would be more rational to add a single listening event that would wait for click of that button with this name. But again, there are maany this buttons so I need pass clicked object to a function. For example this function must update a textarea field that is adjacent (nextSibling) to this button.

  • XmlDocument, XmlResolver and www.w3.org

    - by David Rutten
One of my users had a single error while opening a file (I'm using standard xml 1.0): The remote name could not be resolved: 'www.w3.org' I found a post here in StackOverflow that deals with this and it suggest setting the XmlResolver property to null. I've tried this, and all my documents still seem to load fine. However, the last thing I want is to break the file-reading mechanism of my app, so is it actually safe to disable the resolver?

  • How do I create a "global variable" in Java such that all classes can access it?

    - by Chrystle Soh
here's my problem: I have multiple classes that are part of the same package and they need access to a certain file path String filePath = "D:/Users/Mine/School/Java/CZ2002_Assignment/src/" Rather than declaring the same Filepath in every single class, is it possible to simply have a "global" type of variable of this FilePath so that all classes can access it and I only need to declare and update it once. Thanks

  • Can I Force A ASP.Net Website to Show Time in A Specific Time Zone?

    - by KevDog
I have a client request that all times be displayed in Pacific Time Zone, regardless of client settings. I'd like to avoid a scenario where I have to call a function for every time display and instead have a single point where I can make the switch. I'm thinking a custom culture might do the trick, but I wanted to ask before I set off down a potentially blind alley (or miss something trivially easy).

  • Why should I use a thread vs using a process?

    - by danmine
I'm a newbie at this so please forgive me for my ignorance. Separating different parts of a program into different processes seems (to me) to make a more elegant program then just threading everything. In what scenario would it make sense to make things run on a thread vs separating the program into different processes? When should I use a thread? Edit: Anything on how (or if) they act differently with single core and multi core would also be helpful.

  • WCF Endpoint routing

    - by Dmitriy Sosunov
Hi, Guys, how to route inbound message between different endpoints. I need to expose the single endpoint that could accept different credentials. I guess, solve this by intercept the incoming message and based on message header then do forward message to appropriate endpoint. Thanks.

    - by user352868
Hi Guys What's the maximum size of ASP.NET cache (either deployer on a single server or out-of-process on a Web farm) you can have? If there is a limit on how big ASP.NET cache you can have, is there a workaround to increase that limit? Thanks james

  • double click and select the path(including '/') in Terminal.app

    - by mash
I'm using Terminal.app on Mac OS10.6.3, with gnu screen and zsh. What I want to do is, see pwd(or an URL) in Terminal.app and double click on it, and select the whole path, to copy and paste after that. But what I get now is a single directory name, because '/' is not treated as a word. I found that iTerm has a setting to change it(iTerm - Preferences - Mouse - Characters considered part of a word), but is there any way to do this on my environment?

  • Why is jQuery's .removeClass() adding a space to the class attribute?

    - by Sosh
I'm having some strange issues with .removeClass() and .addClass() in jQuery. Specifically it seems that when I use .removeClass() the class is indeed removed, but a single space is left in it's place. then when I .addClass("secondclass") I get class=" secondclass" (with the space in front). I'm using jQuery 1.4.1 Is this intended behaviour or a bug? How to stop it?

  • Threadpool with pasistant worker instances

    - by Matt Smokey-waters Holmes
So basically what im trying to do is queue up tasks in a thread pool to be executed as soon as a worker becomes free, i have found various examples of this but in all cases the examples have been setup to use a new Worker instance for each job, i want persistent workers. Im trying to make a ftp backup tool, i have it working but because of the limitations of a single connection it is slow. What i ideally want to do is have a single connection for scanning directories and building up a file list then four workers to download said files. Here is an example of my worker /** * FTP Worker */ public class Worker implements Runnable { protected FTPClient _ftp; // Connection details protected String _host = ""; protected String _user = ""; protected String _pass = ""; // worker status protected boolean _working = false; public Worker(String host, String user, String pass) { this._host = host; this._user = user; this._pass = pass; } // Check if the worker is in use public boolean inUse() { return this._working; } @Override public void run() { this._ftp = new FTPClient(); this._connect(); } // Download a file from the ftp server public boolean download(String base, String path, String file) { this._working = true; boolean outcome = true; //create directory if not exists File pathDir = new File(base + path); if (!pathDir.exists()) { pathDir.mkdirs(); } //download file try { OutputStream output = new FileOutputStream(base + path + file); this._ftp.retrieveFile(file, output); output.close(); } catch (Exception e) { outcome = false; } finally { this._working = false; return outcome; } } // Connect to the server protected boolean _connect() { try { this._ftp.connect(this._host); this._ftp.login(this._user, this._pass); } catch (Exception e) { return false; } return this._ftp.isConnected(); } // Disconnect from the server protected void _disconnect() { try { this._ftp.disconnect(); } catch (Exception e) { /* do nothing */ } } } and basically i want to be able to call Worker.download(...) for each task in a queue whenever a worker becomes available without having to create a new connection to the ftp server for each download Any help would be appreciated as iv'e never used threads before and I'm going round in circles at the moment
