• My computer has begun to restart after I upgraded

  After updating to Ubuntu 11.04. My computer started to turn off and reboot. This happens about every half hour, I think there is a tendency to happen when I work with multiple applications at once. It is both my Desktop and Labtop. I has installed- BOINE Manager, PlayOnLinix GIMP, Qt, Wine, VLC-player, Blender 2.57 Otherwise is all as default.   Following upgrade to 12.10, my usb drives - both pen drives and a usb hard drive - fail to mount with the error message: Unable to mount *name of drive* volume Adding read ACL for uid 1000 to '/media/*my home file name*' failed: Operation not supported This is on a desktop Dell Inspiron 530. I also have a Dell Inspiron Mini 10 netbook which I also upgraded to 12.10 (slightly smaller installation on a flash hard drive). all devices mount automatically without problems on this computer.

• Suggestion for a hybrid Gnome-Kde Distro.

  After years of working on various Desktop Environments, i have come to the conclusion , that there are some KDE (qt) applications, which have no GTK equivalent. Can anyone please suggest a hybrid Gnome-KDE Distro having lots of apps installed by default. I have a slow- unreliable internet connection, so downloading large amounts of data would be aproblem. Linux Mint would have been my first choice, unfortunately the amount af apps bundled by default is quite limited.

  I recently installed Ubuntu on an old laptop of mine(HP Compaq Presario v6000), and I am having some problems. I installed everything and followed the guide like it said, but, when I try to boot up from hard drive it displays the desktop, but everything starts to glitch out and I can't click on any applications or scroll over them without it glitching, proceeded by a lock-up. I might re-install it to see if it helps, but if not, you guys got to help me out.

It captures one screen but doesn't show the rest. I can capture my screen running if I use my flip camcorder but recordmydesktop will not work.   It is almost and instantaneous whenever I talk to developers about Model View Controller (MVC) they say you make a request to a url the server builds a entity (MODEL) and provides you with visual representation of that model.
