In my program, im using the WndProc override to stop my form being resized. Thing is, the cursor is still there when you move the pointer to the edge of the form. Is there anyway to hide this cursor?
Is there an easy way to manipulate PNGs in Java? I know I can read into a BufferedImage and write that back out, but I need to add clear pixels around the edge of an image. Is there an easy way to do this?
Simple Repo has given me a competitive edge in my consulting. I can finish projects much faster than I could in the "cmd.Parameters.Add(param)" days. As things progress on this end im getting into higher volume sites and wondering if Simple Repo is still the way to go. Im wondering what people's experiences have been putting SR into production vs. NHibernate. Any tips or tricks for using SR in production.
I have been searching a lot for a chunk of code, or a library to format SMS messages in PDU format and had little luck. They were either huge monsters with terrific dependencies on everything way above my requirements and a very obscure interface, totally not justifying the straight-forward, although rather complex encoding.
Being on the edge of creating a NIH, my question is - have encountered the same problem and how have you solved it?
I'm using LaTeX and I would like to have vertical rule along left side of page, topmargin to bottommargin, 0.5in from the left edge of the page. Can someone tell me how to do that?
Microsoft MSDN site has next remark: "Any groups assigned to a ListView control appear whenever the ListView.View property is set to a value other than View.List."
My problem is that i like to have View set to SmallIcon
In this mode ListView control is shifted left, and CheckBoxes are covered by left edge
How to solve this issue, or at least how is possible to shift rendering of control to the right
If I tile squares, and the squares can be defined by their coordinates, how can I simplify shapes made of multiple squares into vectors that define each edge of the entire shape? Pseudo-code or general terms are fine.
I'm using JQuery as such:
$(window).resize(function() { ... });
However, it appears that if the person manually resizes their browser windows by dragging the window edge to make it larger/smaller, the .resize event above fires multiple times.
Question: How to I call a function AFTER the browser window resize completed (so that the event only fires once)?
Are there any libraries that instrument code to verify that methods called on swing components are called on the event dispatch thread? It probably wouldn't be too difficult to write some basic code for doing this, but I'm sure there are edge cases and whatnot that other people have handled. I'm looking for this at runtime though, not for unit tests.
thanks,
Jeff
Hey guys,
I would like to know how to mask part of an image that is in BLACK & WHITE ?
I got an object that needs to be edge detected, but I have other white interfering objects in the background that are below the target objet ... I would like to mask the entire lower part of an image to black, how can I do that ?
Thanks !!
I have just recently graduated from High School and I am looking for something productive to do over the summer. I was thinking of possibly learning a new language that can give me an edge in school or a good project to pursue that will look good on my resume for future jobs. Also how would I go about getting a job right out of high school or interning for a company for the summer?
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
in words, can someone post directions towards finding the 'maximal' independent set in a simple graph?
I read up something from ETH site which said one can find such in O(n) by simply picking a random vertex v and than scanning the rest and attempting to find if there's an edge from v to the rest.
Thanks
I'm attempting to draw a background to a chart. If I try to call
canvas.beginFill(0xff0000,1)
canvas.drawEllipse(10,200,300,-30);
canvas.endFill()
And -30 is outside the range of the chart, it won't draw anything. I want it to draw an ellipse that is cut off by the edge of the chart.
I have a scanned image of a book page and i need to crop this scan for leaving only page area. I tried to use AForge to detect page borders, but it doesn't work because the space which i need to crop may consist of little "light" areas (due to scanner quality) and edge detector detects borders there. That's why this is bad idea as for me.
Could you recommend something?
P.S. Please don't tell me to use non-free libraries.
Is there a way I can specify an input mask to the EditText control in Android?
I want be able to specify something like ### - ## - #### for a Social Security Number. This will cause any invalid input to be rejected automatically (example, I type alphabetical characters instead of numeric digits).
I realize that I can add an OnKeyListener and manually check for validity. But this is tedious and I will have to handle various edge cases.

As you may know, in many occasions, there is a need to flag some elements of a matrix. For example when we have weighted adjacency matrix, and our graph is not fully connected, we have to flag some elements to show that there is no edge between those nodes. The question is how to do that? Is it better to put NaN or Inf on that elements in the matrix? or something elese(such as -1)?
On our website http://www.dimagi.com, the items in the jQuery menu near the top of the screen gain a background-color on hover. The hover background-color of the rightmost list item ("About Us") is cut off at the very right edge of the text, seemingly only in WebKit (tested Safari and Chrome in Windows XP).
Can anybody see what I might be doing wrong in the CSS? Or is this some obscure WebKit bug?
In general terms and pseudo-code, what would be the best way to have a collision response of sliding along a wall if the wall is actually just a part of an entire square that a point is colliding into? The collision test method used is a test to see if the point lies in the square.
Should I divide the square into four lines and just calculate the shortest distance to the line and then move the point back that distance? If so, then how can I determine which edge of the square the point is closest to after collision?
I have created a table with draggable rows. Unfortunately, most of the rows are covered with a large textbox input element. In order to drag the rows, you have to grab the row on the very edge just outside of the textbox. Is there a way to allow the rows to be grabbed through the textboxes without destroying the textbox functionality? (i.e. relay the mouse drag event, but not the mouseclick event?)
I know you can programmatically determine the tranparency color of a .gif
Is there a way to do the same for a Bitmap?
Right now, I am doing this heuristically by sampling around the outer edge but of course this is not 100% reliable.
I've got a Google map, standard fare really. It's quite small though and the popup info windows on the markers are quite big, so my question is, is it possible for these popup windows to spill out the edge of the map and on to the actual website? (See dodgy photoshop job for an example).
Thanks!
As an FNH user, do you find you sometimes need to supplement FNH with an hbm file? Any relatively common edge cases where you do, if so?
Cheers,

What is Windows' best I/O event notification facility?
By best I mean something that ...
doesn't have a limit on number of input file descriptors
works on all file descriptors (disk files, sockets, ...)
provides various notification modes (edge triggered, limit triggered)
I'm trying to generate a large graph using graphviz.
I have a generated text file with nodes defined in the dot format.
When I try to generate a PNG file from the file using
dot -Tpng:cairo graph.txt graph.png
I get the error message:
Error: Edge length 136228 larger than maximum 65535 allowed.
Check for overwide node(s).
How do I actually "check for overwide node(s)" ?
