  • VS2010 Extension like Smart Paster?

    - by Eric J.
Alex Papadimoulis' Smart Paster is a great little tool that can paste text in programmer-friendly ways (e.g. as a StringBuilder, as a language-specific string literal, etc.). However, it doesn't seem to be available for VS2010. Anyone know of a similar extension or of plans to port Smart Paster?

  • Javascript data store solution using PhoneGap

    - by nickcartwright
Hiya, Does anyone have any experience of storing data in JavaScript across all mobile platforms using PhoneGap? My ideal solution would be to use something like SQLite, but unfortunately SQLite isn't supported across all the platforms PhoneGap supports. I tried to ask this question a little while ago, but it got quite a few negative marks. If you think this is a bad / pointless question I would love to know as it will hopefully help me to understand the problem! Cheers, Nick.

  • Java Graphics2D DrawString....

    - by user69514
    Hey guys I have a little issue here. I have a panel where I am drawing a string. This is a game so I keep redrawing the score in order to update it. However when I draw it again it is drawn on top of the previous score so it looked all garbled up. Any ideas how to fix this? comp2d.drawString(GetScore(Score),ScoreX,ScoreY);

  • Need help implementing an Android service that does http long polling

    - by Erdal
I've seen persistent TCP connections implemented (http://devtcg.blogspot.com/2009/01/push-services-implementing-persistent.html), but my needs are a little different. I need an Android service that always runs in the background and keeps a long polling connection to an HTTP server and communicates with it using JSON over POST method. Does anyone have anything similar to this?

  • 2-legged OAuth and the Gmail atom feed

    - by jdcotter
We're trying to get 2-legged OAuth to work with the Gmail atom feed. We're using the Java library contributed by John Kristian, Praveen Alavilli and Dirk Balfanz. [http://oauth.net/code/] instead of the GData library. We know we have the correct CONSUMER_KEY and CONSUMER_SECRET, etc. becuase it works with the Contacts feed (http://www.google.com/m8/feeds/contacts/default/full) and have no problems. However with Gmail atom feed it always returns: HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized Any ideas? Should we try a different OAuth framework or does the problem lie on the Google side?

  • Project based on J2EE

    - by zakovyrya
Would you start J2EE project nowadays if you have other alternatives? UPDATE: I think little clarification is needed: Is it worth investing in J2EE if practically everything it claims to offer can be achieved by using other technologies? To be honest, J2EE scares me by its monstrosity and I foresee substantial maintenance and/or evolution costs.

  • Drawing continuously in drawing application

    - by user146780
I was wondering how drawing applications draw the entire time the mouse is down without having empty gaps. What I mean is, for example if the program only drew circles at the mouse's X, y coordinate, then if the mouse went too quicly it would seem like a bunch of little circles rather than a nice continuous line. How can this be done without constantly drawing a short straight line between where the mouse was 0.001 seconds ago and where the mouse now is. Thanks

  • Zoom to fit region for all annotations - ending up zooming in between annotations

    - by Krismutt
    Hey everybody!! I have a problem with fitting all my annotations to the screen... sometimes it shows all annotations, but some other times the app is zooming in between the two annotations so that none of them are visible... I want the app to always fit the region to the annotations and not to zoom in between them... what do I do wrong? if ([mapView.annotations count] == 2) { CLLocationCoordinate2D SouthWest = location; CLLocationCoordinate2D NorthEast = savedPosition; NorthEast.latitude = MAX(NorthEast.latitude, savedPosition.latitude); NorthEast.longitude = MAX(NorthEast.longitude, savedPosition.longitude); SouthWest.latitude = MIN(SouthWest.latitude, location.latitude); SouthWest.longitude = MIN(SouthWest.longitude, location.longitude); CLLocation *locSouthWest = [[CLLocation alloc] initWithLatitude:SouthWest.latitude longitude:SouthWest.longitude]; CLLocation *locNorthEast = [[CLLocation alloc] initWithLatitude:NorthEast.latitude longitude:NorthEast.longitude]; CLLocationDistance meter = [locSouthWest distanceFromLocation:locNorthEast]; MKCoordinateRegion region; region.span.latitudeDelta = meter / 111319.5; region.span.longitudeDelta = 0.0; region.center.latitude = (SouthWest.latitude + NorthEast.latitude) / 2.0; region.center.longitude = (SouthWest.longitude + NorthEast.longitude) / 2.0; region = [mapView regionThatFits:region]; [mapView setRegion:region animated:YES]; [locSouthWest release]; [locNorthEast release]; } Any ideas? NEW CODE (by Satya) -(void)zoomToFitMapAnnotations:(MKMapView*)mapview{ if([mapview.annotations count] == 0) return; CLLocationCoordinate2D topLeftCoord; topLeftCoord.latitude = -90; topLeftCoord.longitude = 180; CLLocationCoordinate2D bottomRightCoord; bottomRightCoord.latitude = 90; bottomRightCoord.longitude = -180; for(FSMapAnnotation* annotation in mapView.annotations) { topLeftCoord.longitude = fmin(topLeftCoord.longitude, location.longitude); topLeftCoord.latitude = fmax(topLeftCoord.latitude, location.latitude); bottomRightCoord.longitude = fmax(bottomRightCoord.longitude, savedPosition.longitude); bottomRightCoord.latitude = fmin(bottomRightCoord.latitude, savedPosition.latitude); } MKCoordinateRegion region; region.center.latitude = topLeftCoord.latitude - (topLeftCoord.latitude - bottomRightCoord.latitude) * 0.5; region.center.longitude = topLeftCoord.longitude + (bottomRightCoord.longitude - topLeftCoord.longitude) * 0.5; region.span.latitudeDelta = fabs(topLeftCoord.latitude - bottomRightCoord.latitude) * 1.1; // Add a little extra space on the sides region.span.longitudeDelta = fabs(bottomRightCoord.longitude - topLeftCoord.longitude) * 1.1; // Add a little extra space on the sides region = [mapView regionThatFits:region]; [mapView setRegion:region animated:YES]; } Can't get it to work... FSMapAnnoation is undeclared... how do I fix this?

  • Override Javascript Function Based on Passed Parameters

    - by George
Is it possible to override a function based on the number of parameters that you are passing into it? For instance: function abc(name) { document.write ('My name is' + name); } function abc(name, friend) { document.write ('My name is' + name + 'and my best friend\'s name is' + friend); } So in the HTML if I just called abc(george) it would use the first version of the function, but if I called abc(george, john) it would use the second version. There may be other ways to accomplish the example I used, but I'm just wondering if the concept is sound in javascript.

  • Webbrowser control: Get text value from html text

    - by Khou
The web browser has the following displayed content, within a html table. [Element] [Value] Name John Smith Email [email protected] We know that the value of the elements are on to the right of the element and they are both on the same line (this is how it appears on the screen but in the html code it might not appear like this). How do you get the values of element name and element email? (first remove all html tag? then somehow use regular express to get the values? or figure out how to use html agility pack?)

  • Using MongoDB with Ruby On Rails and the Mongomapper plugin

    - by Micke
Hello, i am currently trying to learn Ruby On Rails as i am a long-time PHP developer so i am building my own community like page. I have came pritty far and have made the user models and suchs using MySQL. But then i heard of MongoDB and looked in to it a little bit more and i find it kinda nice. So i have set it up and i am using mongomapper for the connection between rails and MongoDB. And i am now using it for the News page on the site. I also have a profile page for every User which includes their own guestbook so other users can come to their profile and write a little message to them. My thought now is to change the User models from using MySQL to start using MongoDB. I can start by showing how the models for each User is set up. The user model: class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_one :guestbook, :class_name => "User::Guestbook" The Guestbook model model: class User::Guestbook < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :user has_many :posts, :class_name => "User::Guestbook::Posts", :foreign_key => "user_id" And then the Guestbook posts model: class User::Guestbook::Posts < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :guestbook, :class_name => "User::Guestbook" I have divided it like this for my own convenience but now when i am going to try to migrate to MongoDB i dont know how to make the tables. I would like to have one table for each user and in that table a "column" for all the guestbook entries since MongoDB can have a EmbeddedDocument. I would like to do this so i just have one Table for each user and not like now when i have three tables just to be able to have a guestbook. So my thought is to have it like this: The user model: class User include MongoMapper::Document one :guestbook, :class_name => "User::Guestbook" The Guestbook model model: class User::Guestbook include MongoMapper::EmbeddedDocument belongs_to :user many :posts, :class_name => "User::Guestbook::Posts", :foreign_key => "user_id" And then the Guestbook posts model: class User::Guestbook::Posts include MongoMapper::EmbeddedDocument belongs_to :guestbook, :class_name => "User::Guestbook" But then i can think of one problem.. That when i just want to fetch the user information like a nickname and a birthdate then it will have to fetch all the users guestbook posts. And if each user has like a thousand posts in the guestbook it will get really much to fetch for the system. Or am i wrong? Do you think i should do it any other way? Thanks in advance and sorry if i am hard to understand but i am not so educated in the english language :)

  • Netbeans render unrecognized files as html

    - by nick
Hey Everyone, I am using Netbeans and very happy with it. Unfortunately I am having a little problem with it that I cant seem to figure out. I am using Silverstripe CMS and it uses a templating system that syntactically is basically just a mix of php and html. These files however end in .ss and therefore netbeans doesnt format and highlight them at all. How do I make netbeans format and highlight all .ss files just as if they where normal html files? Kind Regards Nick

  • getting count(*) using createSQLQuery in hibernate?

    - by JohnSmith
I have several sql queries that I simply want to fire at the database. I am using hibernate throughout the whole application, so i would prefer to use hibernate to call this sql queries. In the example below i want to get count + name, but cant figure out how to get that info when i use createSQLQuery(). I have seen workarounds where people only need to get out a single "count()" from the result, but in this case I am using count() + a column as ouput SELECT count(*), a.name as count FROM user a WHERE a.user_id IN (SELECT b.user_id FROM user b) GROUP BY a.name HAVING COUNT(*) BETWEEN 2 AND 5; fyi, the above query would deliver a result like this if i call it directly on the database: 1, John 2, Donald 1, Ralph ...

  • D3.js binding an object to data and appending for each key

    - by frshca
I'm a D3.js newbie and I'm learning how to play around with data. Let's say I have an object with names as keys, and each key has an array of numbers like this: var userdata = { 'John' : [0, 1, 3, 9, 8, 7], 'Harry': [0, 10, 7, 1, 1, 11], 'Steve': [3, 1, 4, 4, 4, 17], 'Adam' : [4, 77, 2, 13, 11, 13] }; For each user, I would like to append an SVG object and then plot the line with the array of values for that user. So here is my assumption of how that would look based on tutorials, but I know it is incorrect. This is to show my limited knowledge and give better understanding of what I'm doing: First I should create the line var line = d3.svg.line().interpolate('basis'); Then I want to bind the data to my body and append an svg element for each key: d3.select('body') .selectAll('svg') .data(userdata) .enter() .append('svg') .append(line) .x(function(d, i) { return i; }) .y(function(d) { return d[i]; }); So am I close??

  • Documentation for Liferay Hooks

    - by Codeflayer
Hi there, I need to listen for user log in and log out events in Liferay. From what little I've been able to find, it seems that using Liferay hooks would be the way to accomplish this. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any information other that at the following link: http://www.liferay.com/web/raymond.auge/blog/-/blogs/portal-hook-plugins Does anyone know where I can find further documentation or how I would implement listening for user log in/log out events? Thanks in advance!
