• Where can I find a download of both Vista (Home Premium) and Windows 7 OEM ISO?

  I'm trying to find a place where I can download both Vista Home Premium and Windows 7 OEM Iso's. I own both, and my hard drive died in my Vista computer, so I ran out, bought another one and now need to re-install my OS. However, the computer came with it, and didn't come with a disk (Thanks Acer!) So, is there a place I can download an ISO of my Windows that ISN'T illegaly activated? I can't find any torrents that are legitimate. Thanks in advance!

  I have a laptop with a busted l.c.d., but otherwise works fine with an external monitor. I was wondering if it is possible to connect it to my main pc as an extra processor(main pc is getting old, it's only single core processor) and if so how? I currently have them connected with a network cable so that I can access the laptop's hard drive but would like to use it to give my pc a bit more power. Is it possible to create such a device with Linux, a few disks and an FC controller, using the controller in the reverse direction than usual? This would come handy to test some ideas and concepts in an emerging SAN environment.

Over the years various updates have been applied filling up the c:\ drive. the updates are about 200Mb each, and there seem to be a few jre.. folder in the Program File/Java folder.   hi. im looking for a small utility that can copy files over to/from remote windows hosts, and which can take the credentials (domain user and password) as part of its command line, similar to psexec. i know i can use net use to map the target directory to a drive letter and use xcopy, and i know psexec can upload files to be executed on the remote machine and then delete them, but im looking for a small utility to distribute files to remote hosts that will not be as awkward to use as net use + xcopy

• Removing folders from sycn parternships in Windows 7

  A while back I set my computer up to sync folders on a shared network drive. I didn't choose my folders carefully and ended up with a huge amount of files to sync, which took forever. I would like to stop sync on those folders, then later select some smaller subfolders to sync. I believe this means I first must delete the existing sync partnerships, but there is no "Delete" option when I list them in Sync Center. How can I delete existing sync partnerships?

  I had a problem with a Win2k8 Domain Controller and had to restart it. It restarted with no issues and reached the "PRESS CTRL + DEL TO LOGON" screen. And so I did a usual logon with an administrative domain account and it started to apply group policy. It processed mapped drive and some other stuff before it reach printer policy and then it got stuck for more than an hour. What is the proper way to troubleshoot or abort applying group policy?

We've gotten the Windows partition to work, but the recovery partition (100-200MB at the front of the drive in a standard install) isn't as simple. • Subversion - Checking out thousands of small files is extra slow, where's the bottleneck?

  I'm on a gigabit LAN with a 2-Core 3 Ghz server dedicated to serving up our Repository. What I check out a project with about 30,000 mostly small files, it only streams out at about 1 MB/sec. There's about 140 MB so it kinda takes forever. Surely the bottleneck isn't the hard-drive... it's on an SSD after all. Is it a processing issue? Windows Server 2008

• Why Windows Live Photo Gallery stopped displaying thumbnails, and how to fix it?

  I now get this instead, for most (but not all) photos. This is the icon which represents the WLPG application, I think. Some observations: I can see the thumbnails fine in Explorer, which is where a lot of other people have this problem. My C:\ drive may have temporarily filled up at some point recently, but then was cleaned up. Double-clicking on the photo will display it fine, so I know it's not file corruption or permissions issues. Thanks

It says: Windows can't be installed on this storage device. The chosen harddisk contains a MBR-partition-table. • Can't install .NET 4.0 on Windows XP virtual machine! (VMWare Player)

  So, every time I try to install .NET Framework 4.0 on my Windows XP Professional SP3 VMWare Player virtual machine, I get a fatal error. It doesn't work with either Windows Update, the Web Installer or the normal installer! I don't know if it matters (AND I HOPE IT DOES NOT), but the host OS's Operating System drive is encrypted, and the VM HDD file resides on that partition. I don't think it matters because other programs can be installed! And downloaded!
