• Is there a way to schedule the downloads in Transmission BitTorrent Client?

  I have added a couple of torrent files to Transmission BitTorrent Client to be downloaded. I have a limited internet speed so I can't start all of them in a single go; so I have to peep in after every 30 minutes or so to start downloading other file(added to the client). I don't want to peep in 30 minutes; looking for a way to schedule the downloads (i.e when one download completes other files can start automatically) without manual intervention.

• Will default applications be automatically changed during release upgrade?

  Suppose LibreOffice and Banshee are set to replace OpenOffice and Rhythmbox in Natty Narwhal. Of course doing a fresh install will give me these new applications to be the default ones. However if I choose to upgrade via the update manager, will the old applications be uninstalled and the new ones installed automatically, or do I have to do these manually so that I get the same experience as a fresh install?

• Remapping Alt + F2 in Unity

  I disabled the Alt + F2 default shortcut in unity (ubuntu 11.10) using ccsm and I set a new shortcut using the default system shortcut manager (system settings keyboard). And it works, until I execute a command like compiz --replace. After that, all shortcuts keep working normally, except for Alt + F2. It does nothing. Any suggetions to keep the custom Alt + F2 shortcut working after compiz --replace?

  I'm running Ubuntu version 12.04 on Dell D620 laptop and have been for months. Everything has been working fine until a week ago, when suddenly every time I close the laptop and open it again, the program in use blinks each time I make a keystroke. Only the program blinks, not the whole screen. Rebooting solves the issue until I close the lid again. I have installed all the updates recommended in the package manager. Clues?

• Quickly Copy Movie Files to Individually Named Folders

  Some HTPC media manager applications require movie files to be in stored in separate folders to properly store information such as cover art images and other metadata. Here we look at copying movie files to individual folders. If you already have a large movie collection stored in a single folder, we’ll show you how to quickly move those files into their own individually named folders. File2Folder FIle2folder is a handy portable app that automatically creates and moves movie files into a folder of the same filename. There is no installation needed. Simply download and run the .exe file (link below). Enter the current movie directory, or browse for the folder. File2folder now supports both local and network shares. When you are ready to create the folders and move the files, click Move! You’ll see the move progress displayed in the window. When the process is finished, you’ll have all your movie file in individual folders.   Change your mind? Just click the Undo! button…   …and the move and folder creation process will be undone. If you would like to have the folder monitored for new files, click the Start button. File2folder will process any new files it discovers every 180 seconds. To turn it off, click Stop. This simple little program is a huge timesaver for those looking to organize movie collections for their HTPC. We should also note that this will work with any files, not just videos.   I'm trying to create a bootable USB stick on OS X using http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/create-a-usb-stick-on-mac-osx When this finishes, I get a message in terminal saying "695+1 records in 695+1 records out 729067520 bytes transferred in 264.563662 secs (2755736 bytes/sec)" But a message pops up saying "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" Options are Initialize, Ignore or Eject. What am I doing wrong or omitting. (oh - complete novice)
