  • Help writing emacs lisp for emacs etags search

    - by user535707
    I'm looking for some help developing what I think should be an easy program. I want something similar to Emacs tags-search command, but I want to collect all search results into a buffer. (I want to see all results of M-,) I'm thinking this python style pseudo code should work, but I have no idea how to do this in emacs lisp? Any help would be greatly appreciated. def myTagsGrep(searchValue): for aFile in the tag list: result = grep aFile seachValue if len(result) > 0: print aFile # to the buffer print result # to the buffer I would like to be able to browse through the buffer with the same features tags-apropos does. Note that a similar question has been asked before: Is there a way to get emacs tag-search command to output all results to a buffer?

  • Prolog term concatenation

    - by d0pe
    Hi, I'm trying to format a result from a program but getting an hard time. I wanted to give something like this as result: Res = do(paint(x) do(clean(a), do(repair(b) , initialState))) basically, I want to concatenate successive terms to initialState atom but, it doesn't work with atom_concat since the other terms to concatenate aren't atoms and also I wanted to add the ) everytime I pass through the "do" function. So it would be something like: Res = initialState. When do function was called, I would have a function like concatenateTerm(Pred, Res, Res). Pred beeing repair(b) for instance and obtain the result: res = do(repair(b), initialState). Is this possible to be done? Thanks

  • Explicitly multiplying values as longs

    - by Bill Szerdy
    I understand that all math is done as the largest data type required to handle the current values but when you transverse a loop how do you explicitly multiply longs? The following code returns 0, I suspect, because of an overflow. long result = 0L; List<Long> temp = (List<Long>) getListOfIntegers(); for (int i = 0; i < temp.size(); i++) { result *= temp.get(i).longValue(); } System.out.println(result);

  • Get annotations of return type in Java

    - by Apropos
    I'm using Spring MVC and am using aspects to advise my controllers. I'm running into one issue: controllers that return a value annotated with the @ResponseBody type. How are you able to find the annotations applied to the return type? @Around("myPointcut()") private Object checkAnnotations(ProceedingJoinPoint pjp) throws Throwable { Object result = pjp.proceed(); Method method = ((MethodSignature)pjp.getSignature()).getMethod(); System.out.println("Checking return type annotations."); for(Annotation annotation : method.getReturnType().getAnnotations()){ System.out.println(annotation.toString()); } System.out.println("Checking annotations on returned object."); for(Annotation annotation : result.getClass().getAnnotations()){ System.out.println(annotation.toString()); } return result; } Unfortunately, neither of these methods seem to have the desired effect. I can retrieve annotations on the type of object being returned, but not the ones being added at return time.

  • Match an element of an array to a different element in that array

    - by Anh
    I have an array containing several students. I want them to cross-grade one another randomly, i.e. each student will grade someone and will be graded by someone else (these two people may or may not be the same person). Here is my working solution. I'm sure there is a more elegant answer! def randomize(student_array) graders = student_array.dup gradees = student_array.dup result = {} graders.each do |grader| gradee = grader while gradee == grader gradee = gradees.sample end result[grader] = gradee gradees.delete_at(gradees.index(gradee)) end return result end

  • What are block expressions actually good for?

    - by Helper Method
    I just solved the first problem from Project Euler in JavaFX for the fun of it and wondered what block expressions are actually good for? Why are they superior to functions? Is it the because of the narrowed scope? Less to write? Performance? Here's the Euler example. I used a block here but I don't know if it actually makes sense // sums up all number from low to high exclusive which are divisible by a or b function sumDivisibleBy(a: Integer, b: Integer, high: Integer) { def low = if (a <= b) a else b; def sum = { var result = 0; for (i in [low .. <high] where i mod 3 == 0 or i mod 5 == 0) { result += i } result } } Does a block makes sense here?

  • Valid signed Hex to long function

    - by Ben
    I am trying to convert a 24bit Hexadecimal string (6 characters) signed in two's complement to a long int in C. This is the function I have come up with: long int hex2li (char string[]) { char *pEnd; long int result = strtol (string, &pEnd, 16); if (strcmp (pEnd, "") == 0) { if (toupper (string[0]) == 'F') { return result - 16777216; } else { return result; } } return LONG_MIN; } Is it valid? Is there a better way of doing this?

  • Why are static imports of static methods with same names legal?

    - by user1055638
    Lets say we have these packages and classes: package p1; public class A1 { public static void a() {} } package p2; public class A1 { public static void a() {} } package p3; import static p1.A1.a; import static p2.A1.a; public class A1 { public static void test() { } } I am wondering, why the static import of methods is legal (won't result in compile time error) in package p3? We won't be able to use them further in the test() method as such usage will result in the compile time error. Why it is not the same as with a normal import of classes. Lets say we would like to import classes A1 from packages p1 and p2 into p3: package p3; import p1.A1; import p2.A1; such import is illegal and will result in the compile time error.

  • how have defined connection within function for pdo communication with DB

    - by Scarface
    hey guys I just started trying to convert my query structure to PDO and I have come across a weird problem. When I call a pdo query connection within a function and the connection is included outside the function, the connection becomes undefined. Anyone know what I am doing wrong here? I was just playing with it, my example is below. include("includes/connection.php"); function query(){ $user='user'; $id='100'; $sql = 'SELECT * FROM users'; $stmt = $conn->prepare($sql); $result=$stmt->execute(array($user, $id)); echo $count=$stmt->rowCount(); if (!$result || $stmt->rowCount()>=1){ echo 'balls'; } // now iterate over the result as if we obtained // the $stmt in a call to PDO::query() while($r = $stmt->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC)) { echo "$r[username] $r[id] \n"; } } query();

  • C# Entity Framework Base Repository

    - by Andy
    I'm trying to create a base repository for use with Entity Framework 4.0 and having some trouble. In this code below, why is it not possible to do this in one line? public IEnumerable<T> GetAll<T>(Expression<Func<T, bool>> filter) { IEnumerable<T> allCustomers = this.GetAll<T>(); IEnumerable<T> result = allCustomers.Where(filter.Compile()); return result; } Won't this result in 2 SQL statements: one without a where clause that retrieves all rows, and one with a where clause that only retrieves the rows that match the predicate? How can this be done with a single SQL statement? I can't get it to compile if I try to cast the filter.Compile() to Func<Customer, bool>. Thanks, Andy

  • How do I get Java to parse and format a date/time with the same time zone? I keep getting the local timezone

    - by fishtoprecords
    My application keeps all Java Date's in UTC. Parsing them is easy, but when I print them out, the display shows the computer's local time zone, and I want to show it as UTC. Example code: String sample = "271210 200157 UTC"; SimpleDateFormat dfmt = new SimpleDateFormat("ddMMyy HHmmss Z"); Date result = dfmt.parse(sample); System.out.printf("%tc\n", result); the result is Mon Dec 27 15:01:57 EST 2010 What I want is Mon Dec 27 20:01:57 UTC 2010 Clearly I have to set some Locale and TimeZone values, but I don't see where to put them. Thanks Pat

  • To remove garbage characters from a string using regex...

    - by Harjit Singh

Created following function for the same and it works fine. public String stripGarbage(String s) { String good = "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ0123456789abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz"; String result = ""; for (int i = 0; i < s.length(); i++) { if (good.indexOf(s.charAt(i)) >= 0) { result += s.charAt(i); } } return result; } Can anyone tell me a better way to achieve the same. Probably regex may be better option. Regards Harry
