Is there any good solution for ajax enabled Grid with pageing and sorting which only brings the required data from database? I mean it should only bring the data from the database which is to be displayed on the particular page number of the grid.
I looked at this. It looks good. But I just thought if anyone has created something better using Google's or Yahoo's javascript library or using any good features of asp.net 3.5.
Switching aged 2003 SRV to 2008 caused my Asp.net 2 application fail: The application is no more loading the required library DLL from /bin/ folder anymore.
What should I change in my code or web.config to make this webapp load OK also in new 2008 server?
Now I receive this error when I access the application: This type is in IMPORTS ( Dll ).
Compiler Error Message: BC30002: Type
'Facebook.Entity.User' is not defined.
OK, I guess I'm missing something obvious here, but I still can't make it work...
I have a page in ASP.NET.
I have a nested class inside the page.
I have a property in this nested class.
How can I access the page's viewstate from the property's Set statement?
Thanks!
I have a requirment to do some imports from an Excel spread sheet and have been looking at various examples on the web, they all seem to use the "Jet" driver which is not compatible with 64Bit. Now I am fully aware of the workarounds available (in changing how IIS runs etc) however I would like to know if there is repalcment for the "Jet" driver so I can read and generate excel sheets from Asp.Net running on a 64Bit server with no IIS modifications.
Hi
just looking for abit of guidance here if possible.
I recently downloaded a .net component for VS 2008 to handle sftp.
After struggling with it for a day i uninstalled and deleted it.
When going back into VS 2008, any of my previous projects have this error
at the bottom in the error window:
failed to create app domain.
I was going to do a re-install, but is there anything I can try before I resort to this?
thanks again

or response to reduce page weight in .net so that the client can experience a faster loading of the UI
i've heard of JSON and GZip

Hi all, i want to ask about development in blackberry. I have background in .Net winform.
If i want to develop an application to show data from Ms.SQL server 2008 database in blackberry. what should i learn and what should i do ? thank you for your advice.
IEnumerable<Department> myQuery = (from D in myContext.Departments orderby D.DeptName select D);
var myQuery = (from D in myContext.Departments orderby D.DeptName select D);
What is the difference between these two statements above? In my little asp.net/C#/ EF4.0 app I can write them either way, and as far as how I want to use them, they both work, but there has to be a reason why I would choose one over the other?
Hi, I`m looking for best mechanism for self update in .net programs!
solution should cover this subject:
1) Server - Client Program
2) When new update released, after installing that on the sever-program, all client-program must update itself base on server version.(no need automatic-update for server)
3) Full-Update : for example if server on version 3 and last update package version is 5, update package must contain any older package.
I have a form and from this I call
dialogPrintDiet.ShowDialog()
which launchs my dialog. I need to pass a string value and need the easiest way to do this in VB.NET

Hi I was just wondering if its possible to do an ajax post a file in asp.net mvc,

With the image extraction, I was owndering if it was possible to do that as an ajax post. The other submit button can work as a normal http post

I have a list of strings where by each string is a url to a pdf document. All I want to do is cycle through this list and display each url as a hyperlink on my page. I've seen this done before in MVC where the collection is made avaliable to the view and you can just do a foreach etc etc but I don't know how to do it on a normal asp.net page...
Any help appreciated, cheers!
In hosts file I have added following line
127.0.0.1 test
When I call Request.Url.Host in Asp.Net application still get "localhost". How do I get "test" ?
I'd like the user to specify a RSS feed address and serialize the information from it. I am not interested in the XML format, but populate a strongly typed object from the XML. My question is, is there a standard that all RSS feeds support (Do all of them have date, title etc)? If so, is there a XSD that describes this. If not, how do I handle serializing a RSS feed to an object in ASP.NET?
I am trying to implement my custom route in ASP.net MVC 3 but I get this error:
The resource cannot be found.
global.asax
public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes)
{
routes.IgnoreRoute("{resource}.axd/{*pathInfo}");
routes.MapRoute(
"mycontroller", // Route name
"{controller}/{name}", // URL with parameters
new { controller = "MyController", action = "Search" } // Parameter defaults
);
}
MyController.cs
public class MyController : Controller
{
public ActionResult Search(string name)
{
return Content(name);
}
}
Hi,
I have an assembly and want to restrict the assemblies and applications that can call/use this assemblies functionality. Can anyone provide detailed information on how this can be achieved ?
From what I have read on the internet this is not possible because any "fully trusted" assembly will automatically be granted access.
I am using .NET 2.0 and 3.5 and the solution needs to be compatible with both versions of the framework.
Thanks in advance ;-)
