  • How to have Vista OS send documents to printer without waiting in front?

    Hi, I got a print server on our old printer. I have a problem, because Vista has its own queue. I want to bypass this queue and send everything straight away to printer so the print server deals with queue and not vista. Problem is, when second document is being printed from the same computer after first one. Vista is still waiting for info on finishing the first job even 5 minutes after it was REALLY finished.

  • Linux: Create files and direcotires but not delete them

    I have a process that create directories and files inside a working directory, ex: /workingdir/file1 /workingdir/file2 /workingdir/dir1/file1 /workingdir/dir1/dir2/file1 /workingdir/dir1/file2 I need to avoid deletion/overwrites of created folders/files for that user, but allow subsequent folders/subfolders/files creation. I try permissions, gid, acl with no luck. What is the correct way to do that ? (i can use a cron job if needed)

    When I run the installer for both taglocity 2 and 3, during the installation I get the following error: Error 1001: Exception occurred while initializing the installation: System.Configuration.ConfigurationErrorException: Configuration system failed to initalize. When I try to continue with the installation by clicking OK, a dialog appears with the title ADX Loader with the message: The system cannot find the file specified. Clicking OK causes the installation to roll back. I’m using Outlook 2007 on Windows XP.

  • Skype 5.3 Win7x64: Crashing immediately on startup, tried "everything"

    Per the title, Skype won't open, throws an APPCRASH error code #C0000005. I have already tried: Checking the "compatibility" setting Removing the appdata/roaming/skype folder (it doesn't exist anyway) Installing versions 5.3.113, 5.3.116, 5.3.120 Checking audio and video drivers for most recent updates Uninstalling with "advanced" registry checking using Revo Uninstaller Anyone got some gems of experience to throw my way? (Unfortunately, it's someone else's computer, and they don't know the last thing they did before it stopped working...)

  • Vmware Player network adapters have no network or internet access in Windows 7 enterprise

    As per the title. My VMWare player installation has setup the two network adaptor VMnet1 and VMnet8 and they are picked up as unidentified networks with no network access (i need this to activate my windows server installation on it). The option to change the network location is not available (this might be because of network policy on the domain despite having set this as configurable in the local security policy section). Is there anyway i can change how these networks are detected or alter the configuration of vmware to get around this?

Essentially I love Google Reader and gears for offline viewing but more and more blogs are referring to diagrams and pictures in their articles and if I'm on a plane, I am not able to see any of these since they are not downloaded during offline mode.     By default (at least in my installation), pinned items on the taskbar will be "icon only" when they have no active windows, but when there are active window, the icon expanded to include text (typically some portion of the title text). I'm looking for a way to either: A (preferred option): For any single pinned item, force this pinned item to always display as just the icon even if it has active windows. OR B (acceptable option): Force ALL pinned items to always display as icon only in the taskbar
